Not even close. Trump was showing top secret docs to reporters… that’s how the feds knew that Trump had them. Then, when pressed, Trump turned over SOME of the classified docs, but not the ones that were described by the civilian, non-clearanced reporters… and Trump’s attorneys, acting on a lie from Trump, told the feds “that’s all of them.”  Except the feds knew that that the ones described by the civilians weren’t included. The feds raided Trumps Miralax resort (by no means a private residence) and found the exact docs that Trump said he was hanging onto “for protection” in a bathroom.  
 
Y’all make it sound like trump had a box of sensitive docs that inadvertently ended up on a truck leaving the White House. 
 
The good news is that it looks like the judge on that case in Florida is just as biased as the ones in New York, except in Trump’s favor, so he should be fine. 
 
So before y’all whine about NY judges being biased, remember that other judges are just as biased in his favor so “bias” is a no -issue. 
 
Stop crying.

If that’s not milking that man’s  grief for political purposes, then I guess I don’t know what it is.  
 
Why do all of the outbursts keep coming from “our” side?  Because character and decorum don’t matter to Republicans anymore…. Just who can be the biggest anus. Mike Johnson should strip MTG of any committee spots she currently has.

I would have been very disappointed in him… I thought it was in very poor taste when Pelosi did it. The difference is that Pelosi doesn’t represent me or my party… Johnson does- and it’s my obligation to point out when they fall short of what I expect of them.  I know that’s a concept lost on the right these days, unless somebody isn’t being MAGA enough. Then the knives come out. 
 
 
You know what the police call an escalation of force? When somebody does something, the other side has to do it back, but harder. What’s next? The Ds pelting the next R President with tomatoes during the SOTU address? Y’all seem to forget that for every action, there will be a more forceful response.  
 
It’s funny how y’all all think that your opinions are the correct ones, so anything you want to do or say is justified. 
 
Republicans still stupidly believe that their childish behavior, since their friends all approve, is okay. It’s not. Just like in 2020 when Trump lost the undecided vote (and therefore the election) in large part due to his behaviors in the debates, the actions of REPUBLICANS on the biggest of stages did nothing but alienate voters. For what? So the most ignorant of us all can say “Biden deserved every bit of the heckling he got.” What a dumb way to think.

Well, Lumberton is not failing to provide a proper education. Neither are the majority of the schools in our area where I live.
This is a political move with the ruse of being used to keep liberal indoctrination away from our kids. While I agree with keeping our kids from being led down the happy blue path, I don't agree with the way they are trying to do it. Texas Conservatives (of which I am) are simply doing this to garner support from the right. If you think they really give two craps about your kids, my kids, any kids, then you are gullible (which I don't believe you are). You're a smart guy. I agree with the vast majority of things you post.
We are being given a poor solution which will raise taxes in the end and could possibly be harmful to a lot of middle class families on down to the lower class. There can be other ways to do it than school vouchers. From a guy that doesn't like paying any more taxes than I have to, I am definitely against it. I am also against fixing one problem by causing many more problems.

Because she still can’t. A voucher won’t cover rides to school (wherever that may be), uniforms, the entirety of tuition, they don’t have free lunch programs, etc, etc… 
A voucher won’t help a mom in a rough place get her genius into a a private school that doesn’t exist in that area. But it will help that guy in river oaks with the tuition bill on his three kids that he’s already paying. 
 
You just have to ask yourself “why?” Why are they fighting so hard for this program? What’s the motivation? We all agree that anything that strips money from public schools is a bad thing, right? If the schools lose 5% of their students to private schools, they’re going to have their funding cut, right? But their expenses won’t go down. The only way for this to work is if we raise local taxes to subsidize them for the funds that the state is redirecting to the voucher program… that’s what no one wants to explain. 
 
You just have to ask yourself “why are they fighting so hard,” and the answer is this… everybody complains “why should I have to pay school taxes? I don’t even have kids in school!” The fat cats got somebody to listen, and “school choice” became the cause that politicians have to get done. 

Probably some guy who voted for Trump twice.

I can agree with that. Discussion is a way to learn. One or both of us may learn something from it. That's what's wrong these days. We have an "all or none" concept. If Reagan and Tip O'Neil hadn't learned to reach across the aisle, Reagan would have been a much less effective President.

I agree. A school board trustee of a public ISD should not be in favor of school vouchers.

I’m votin’ Republican in the Primary, ya’ll.  We libs can use our vote where it will count. Right now that’s not the Democratic Primary. I’m going to vote against Janice Holt. How a trustee of a public school system can support vouchers is incomprehensible to me. I don’t want my school tax dollars going to fund any private school. That position is untenable for someone elected to govern a public school. Vote Bailes.

Actually, what I said was something along the lines of “I still like coming on here and checking scores, so I’m not trying to get banned. But rest assured, I’ll be back to take victory lap in November when trump is not elected.” Or something to that effect.

It doesn't matter who Trump picks, he's going to burn them at the stake before it's all over with... just ask any former cabinet member, etc... Trump's VP is facing career suicide.  Not from Trump's enemies but from Trump himself.  

I'll still say the best option he could go with for a purely vote-getting standpoint is Nikki Haley.  The amount of angry responses I get from Trump supporters any time I bring that up is the exact reason she'd be the perfect running mate.  He won't do it, though.  He wants a puppet.  

I think you're missing the point... The state's opinion is that he lied.  His own opinion, the opinion of the bank, and the opinion of whatever appraiser looked over the loan thought that the values were adequate.  Like I said earlier... a lie is "I make $100,000 a year" and providing forged pay stubs is a lie.  If someone tries to borrow money against a property that they do not own... a lie.  If somebody says "I think my property is worth $200k,"  the independent appraiser believes  (in his/her expert knowledge) that the property is worth at least $200k, the bank agrees with the applicant and the appraiser that the property is worth $200k, the loan is then paid back...... 
Don't let your hatred of the man cloud your judgment.  Like I said... how would you like to be hauled into court over a home equity loan that you'd already paid back because you, the appraiser, and the bank all agreed on the value of the property, but then the state provides their "opinion" of the value of the property back then and files suit against you?
