  1. The Spindletop Sox 13U Baseball Team has begun actively filling roster spots for the upcoming PreSeason and Regular Season     The Myers Baseball Club Offseason Training is just about finished (Nov 22) and we will transition into the PreSeason (Dec - Jan)   We are very interested in having 12 y/o athletes 'Play Up' for our 13U Team as well     This Team will be coached by Logan Champagne, as he is beginning his coaching career under MBC - I (BJ Myers) will be active in the instruction and training for the Team, and will oversee it's process - but will remain as the 'Bench Coach/Dugout Coach' for the 13U Team during the season.  Every other member of the Staff will be apart of the Coaching/Training/Instruction particular to their specialty to each Player.   We will set the Schedule when the tournaments become available (many places post their tournaments for the Spring around the end of Dec/Jan time of year)   We are expecting to have:   1 Tournament in Mid-December 1 Tournament in January    **These 2 tournaments will count towards the PreSeason Training   2 Tournaments in Feb 2 Tournaments in Mar 2 Tournaments in Apr 3 Tournaments in May 2 Tournaments in Jun   **These 11 tournaments will count towards the Regular Season Training   1+ Tournaments in Jul/Aug   *Additional tournaments after the State Tournament will count toward Post Season Training - The season will go on as long as the Team can take it/wins           Please feel free to contact if you may have any questions - we do have key positions available    [email protected]   409.720.8951
  2. Hard to believe that we are just about finished with 3 months of great Offseason workouts.  We are nearing the completion of a couple of our Training and Development Classes, in which we will outline season charts/goals for the player based on their skill development.  We are getting closer and closer to starting our Throwing Strength and Development (not until after Halloween) and we have spent a lot of time on band work + core/back development to handle the rigors of the 'over-hand throwing motion.'   Big Thanks to Coach Jaden Dillon for sharing his time and information with us on the training/development practices of the Atlanta Braves Minor League System - *you have to be blind to not notice the potential he has in becoming a great coach from this area.  With his added information, we have beefed up the diversity and intensity of our workouts for our Offseason.   Our focus on Endurance has shifted to Agility now that we are nearing the PreSeason.  As a group we have completed: 10 Miles Ran *only 1 mile has been ran over 10 minutes - Avg group mile time of: 7:51 (with athletes from 12-16 y/o) 22 Hours of Physical Training aside from specific baseball motions (*main focus has been on Lower Body and Back strengthening) Barefoot training in the Sand Pit (focuses on Agility and Balance training) Running with teammates handling a 10lb medicine ball in coordination with each other (learning how to work in small spaces with your teammates) Parachute Sprints Bungee Jumps Barefoot in the Sand Introduction to basic Yoga to increase flexibility, balance, and breathing 40 min. combined One-legged Balance/Iso Training and...well, I can't tell you every single thing we've done on our Saturday Workouts because well...we are in competition with each other - I do have to let my competitors find out on the field what we've done.   Along with our Saturday Offseason Workouts - we have put in a lot of position specific training, such as: 27 1/2 HOURS - not a typo, Hours - of Catcher specific training.  Covering all 3 Phases of the position, in great detail, and maximizing reps to develop competency in the athlete's skill. 15 Hours on Offense specific training (i.e. Hitting) - Over the past month, we've added technology to our training with filming the athlete during the drills, then reviewing the film during the workout so the athlete can actually see what he is doing.  I have had the fortune of talking with many other 'Hitting Specific Trainers' in the country (CJ Stewart & John Peabody) to breakdown many 'theories' and 'practices' of Hitting Technique...working hard to codify what you need to train on as a baseball hitter going forward in your career --> The Process 7 1/2 Hours on Infield specific training - covering everything from: Fielding mechanics to advanced footwork on all 4 IF positions.   We have our Outfield T&D Classes starting Nov 2, along with our Pitcher T&D Classes starting Nov 16.   Our Offseason Workouts (starting Nov 1) will begin our 'Throwing Program' to get the arms ready for the upcoming season after 3 + full months with no throwing to allow the body time to rest. (plenty of good ol' fashion Long Tossing - after spending the past months on rubber bands, I'm very excited to see what the athletes are able to do)   Less than 1 complete month left (Nov 22) until the Offseason is over and the PreSeason begins.  With that said:   Starting Nov. 1st - MBC will be actively recruiting athletes to fill the Jr High Spindletop Sox Roster - 13U.   We are urging those who have the Passion - we WANT eligible 11 and 12 y/o baseball players to consider "Playing Up" Get some Quality Training on a bigger field - we are asking you to sacrifice the 'in the moment, short-term success' for 'long-term development and success.'  We are going to field the vast majority of the roster with 13 y/o players - but in order to offer a true teaching platform for Leadership Development, we need younger players.  Think of this a a ticket of not having any "pressure to succeed" while playing baseball - we are wanting you to gain Experience so you can, in return, become a future leader and enter the Leadership Development Training for the Jr. High Team when you become 13.   Only Requirement (aside from the physical skill to "hold their own" on the diamond) - The Player must WANT to Play Up - can't be scared...fully knowing the challenges he will face.  You give us the drive and work ethic, we'll give you a uniform and a season unlike anything you've ever been apart of.   Yes - you can participate in your local Little League during the season, however you have to understand - every athlete involved with MBC is expected to work hard, and we push you to your limits.  We are here to expose you to the demands of College Baseball as early as we can.   Our theory?  The younger the athlete comes to understand The Process (the REAL Process, not "sugar coated" because they are ____ years old - we push you with the demands The Staff encountered during their time in baseball beyond high school - the ugly, gritty, super tough, real-world of baseball...the sooner you grasp it - the better off you will be, and you will have the tools you need to thrive in this Game when it become 'cut-throat')   Roster Specs for Jr High Spindletop Sox:   Catcher - Catch 1st Game, Full Catcher - Catch 2nd Game, Full Infielder Infielder Infielder Outfielder Outfielder Utility Utility Utility Pitcher Only - Sat. Game 1 Starter Pitcher Only - Sun. Game 1 Starter   We are a DEFENSE FIRST Team   We do not live on the "long ball" - Home Runs will be accidental.  We do not care about the size of the athlete because...it really doesn't mean anything.  We want guys who want to be challenged and learn things they never knew of in baseball - especially the guys who have spent their baseball life taking "private lessons"...haha...if you only knew how much of the Game you are missing by training in a cage...       Phone Number to contact - 409.720.8951   email - [email protected]   website - ([Hidden Content])             Thank you for your time, consideration, and most importantly (to the vast majority *oh! threw in a rhyme there, haha) the motivation   Yours __________,   Coach BJ Myers
  3. ***A Sample from the MBC Aug-Sept Training Review*** Tremendous work thus far - we took Sunday's Catcher Training and Development Class 6 pretty light just to ensure we don't "over-work the body" (man...it was HOOOOT yesterday at the park) Right now were routinely putting alot of effort in the physical training, and the results are coming in better than anticipated. With a mixture of 8 active athletes ranging from 7th grade to 10th grade we've completed: 6 Miles Ran with no 1/2 mile over 5 min With charting times to compete against at the beginning of each month - there was an Entry Time Avg (first mile ran) of 7:58. After the first test from training we saw the avg time drop to:7:21 (37 second improvement on average with 7/8 athletes besting their Entry Time. 60 Yd Dash  The mark to hit will always be 6.9 - so that is what we aim to best. With the Entry Time Avg (first 60 ran, *keep in mind this was after first mile ran, body was hurting more due to not being in shape) of: 8.75. After the first test from training we saw the avg time drop to: 7.69 (literally over a 1 second improvement on AVERAGE. 3 athletes saw an improvement by >1 1/2 seconds) *main answer to this really should go towards "Athletes bodies are more in shape and better prepared to perform. Can't necessarily say 'speed was increased' more than you can say 'body wasn't as tired after 1 month of training to test the 60 after testing the Mile'"...either way, on the big picture - the RIGHT improvements are being made. 3 Cone and 5 Point  These are tests that are only taken for the purposes of improving balance, change of direction, agility, quickness while moving in small spaces, and a couple other MBC qualities we are trying to improve that often get overlooked in an athlete's Baseball Training. With the Entry Time Avg (*after testing the first mile and 60 **we run 2 60's and take the average of both to establish their time, not their best, but their average**) of the 3 Cone saw:5.2 seconds. After first test avg: 4.97 seconds. The Entry Times of 5 Point: 6.7 seconds. After first test avg: 5.57 seconds. *MBC's explaination, "The most obvious improvement that happened wasn't necessarily the time, but the overall balance the athlete has gained while moving/changing directions. The simple reason the times increased was mostly due to the athlete 'understanding what to do' for the drill and having better control of their body while moving. Once the athlete shows a true understanding of the purpose behind the drill/test, their is an increase in overall effort to the drill - and following with the Culture of the Club, a competitiveness and competition is created within the drill. These are simply a couple Running Times that are being published. It is important to note that no MBC athlete is cleared to throw a baseball over 30 ft until late October/early Nov. At the current moment we have accumulated over an avg of 150 reps on: lower body strength and flexibility, shoulder/scapula strengthening and flexibility, core strengthening and flexibility; plus routine running with medicine balls w/ teammates, and various other drills MBC is aiming to achieve "Team building", "Hunger for Competition" , "Work Ethic", and understanding of the overall true "Process" you have to make yourself apart of to play Baseball at the highest levels. Everything is being documented - and I am honestly working my ass off to not only get the most out of the athletes, but to publish the results. I know this will work because this isn't anything "new" yet is is "extremely hard" (like it is suppose to be) - it's simply just what I've learned to be "true" with a few touches of my own creation and coordination/organization. It's come to be our main phrase at MBC that, "The trick is - there is no trick, there are no shortcuts. There are those that Do, and those that Don't. The choice is yours, and yours alone to be whichever you want to be in Baseball." The Culture is really infectious, and I've noticed parents of athletes starting to participate in their own 'workout' while the athletes are training. (Equipment is simple to use, and is available for all Members, plus walking a mile is better than sitting in an air conditioned facility while the sun is out - don't forget your Vitamin D people! haha)  An understanding of 'breaking down the Game' into smaller fragments to create "Games within the Game" are starting to become clearer for the athlete to visualize. Evidence is simple with 3 athlete's already creating, on their own under no direction to do so, unique and challenging drills to test certain skills - and quickly thereafter establishing some form of criteria around the newly created drill to make it a competition among each other. (Most popular now? The Pole Balance - what is it? Simply 3 inches of a pole sticking out of the concrete with a diameter of  inches and a support beam about 3 inches away from the pole in the North direction. The competition? Balancing on one foot, then hopping onto the other foot and balancing without the other foot touching the ground. How many hops can you complete?)...and from personal experience I've done 3, and that was after 50+ reps...INCREDIBLY hard Starting next weekend, and lasting until November 22, we will begin our "Bootcamp" - During this we aim to yield an increase in overall muscle strength in combination with the cardio/endurance training. Once throwing is cleared for MBC athletes we believe that after 3 months of shoulder/scapula and core strengthening and development that when we test MPH from Entry (most likely weekend after Halloween) to first test, and to beginning of season there will be an increase. And it is anticipated that the increase in MPH wont necessarily be "a stronger arm" but more importantly a "more fit body" better prepared and developed to endure 'throwing hard.' The results of this won't become available until the End of the Season. We are judging our work on "Arm Strength" not by MPH, but by Durability. We are looking for ZERO Athletes to endure an arm injury related to throwing through the entire duration of the Season. Like I said...it's nothing "new" just very very hard to stay disciplined to and it is exciting seeing these young athletes putting in this kind of work towards their Game. These are only from our Saturday MBC Training Classes - the real exciting development and improvements are coming from our Catcher and Offensive(Hitting) Training and Development Classes. Already over 17 hours ONLY on Catching and 4 hr 45 min on ONLY Hitting (oh yes, the blisters on your hands from hitting have already become 'normal' - we are working to create calluses ready in time for the Season. *often overlooked, but very important part of training for a Baseball Player to perform at high levels*               Personal Opinion from Observation     Last night I was in attendance at Marauder Park to watch the first games of the SETX Fall Baseball League, and I enjoyed seeing and talking to the familiar faces I've come to meet during my time as a Youth Coach in this area.  On a few personal notes that I think should be addressed (and I wouldn't know of any other to say this, than myself...because I know we were all thinking it) The league is FANTASTIC for the 13U teams - great idea, and a range of 'balance' among the teams to compete very well against each other through the Fall.  Getting more experience on the bigger field is exactly what is needed for athletes at that age - Yes, yes, yes, yes - Kudos.  For Jr. High athletes, this is a league that can really take off and do well The Orioles should go ahead and be given the league championship trophy, or whatever they give to the champ.  Look...that team is too big, too old, and far too talented to be playing in this league against these teams.  I worry about the bad habits that will be formed from athletes that can play the Game at an impressive level against competition that isn't in "their league"...they do not need to be playing in this League unless you evenly divide the players on the teams throughout the league.  Out of all honesty - the SETX Fall Baseball League should designate the Orioles to be their 'Flagship Team' and send them to Houston to compete.  Take the money they paid as 'entry' (or whatever) and put it toward Travel and Tourn. Entry Fee's for them to compete.  This League has a Golden Opportunity to gain notoriety on their success against tougher competition, and create a drive for the 13U players to WANT to make the Orioles when they are older so they can play in Houston...which, in return, creates "returning players" to the League each other with the possibility of gaining new players each year... that Team looked pretty crisp for September - and I know they would hold their own very well in Houston. and lastly...1hr 20 min doesn't do the Game, Players, or Parents of Players it's due justice - I saw a pitcher only get 3 warm up pitches in a bases loaded situation in the 3rd inning...come on...3 warm up pitches?!?! 2 Pitchers left the mound hinting at pain in their elbow, and players taking their positions from the dugout only had 1 (if they were lucky) rep to warm up before "Balls In" was called.  I understand the concept - but please understand the practice of this concept won't be as beneficial as you imagine.  I know the current culture and economics of Baseball has driven it to become "Get as many Games in as Quick as Possible" but at what Cost?  This Fall Baseball League looks better than I imagined and really believe there is something special that can happen with this League.  While it is still early, I think it will be easier to manage a few pieces to make it Grander - the people, resources, and players are all there for it to happen.               Come out and see what we do -  Saturdays 2-4pm at Doornbos Park are open for the public and people to 'Try Out'  ...now the private training and individual position training development classes are only for MBC Members to participate in any, and all they choose to.   Starting Next Sunday from 4:30 - 7pm MBC will start:  Middle Infield Training and Development Classes.   Selection for the Spindletop Sox Baseball Team (Jr. High Regular Season) to play from Dec. - Jun/Jul will be: Dec. 6 & 7 *Only MBC Athletes are eligible for selection Walk On selection will be: Jan 4     Selection for the Spindletop Sox Baseball Team (High School Summer Team) to play from Apr/May-Aug/Sept will be: Dec. 6 Jan 4 Jan 11 Feb 1 Walk On selection will be: Feb 15     Yours Truly :),    Coach BJ Myers   MyersBaseball.com   409-720-8951   P.S. - I've received the voicemails, and all I ask is (whomever you are) to not call me under a "Restricted Number" if you are trying to get a hold of me.  I have no problems discussing anything I do if you want to talk about it (you obviously have a very strong opinion against me) but calling from a Restricted Number...I do apologize, I will never answer any call that comes up "Restricted" haha - would you?
  4. MBC will offer a subscription (to its Members) to use the Game Changer App during the season.   [Hidden Content]   *Find which Team your child plays for - then click 'Live Scoring' - !App will activate in December - start of PreSeason!     This means that if your child plays for the Sox, or is affiliated with any MBC Showcase Event, and you are unable to attend - you will be able to follow all progress of the Games, and Tryouts LIVE - and for FREE on your phone/computer.   Just another way we are working to provide the most complete Baseball Training Experience - Coming Very Soon (as I am still writing many HTML scripts to enhance the website and its features) MBC will offer ONLINE PRACTICES along with ONLINE TRAINING, accessed as either a Web Conference or series of Power Points and Videos with Transcripts.   "It's not what you know - it's how you Apply what you know"     The Game is very much changing, and the manner in which Training is conducted is evolving - Principles of Play that once were 'absolute' are now 'abstract' and being challenged.   You disagree?  (For Example: and this is 1 or many) Look at the style in which the Game is being played at the highest levels - does your child even know the Principles of Defensive Shifts...? or do they know to just "move over there"...or are they even aware that the manner in which Defense in Baseball has evolved? (Does your child's Coach acknowledge, or dispute the Change in the Game?)         I'll be in attendance throughout the year - feel free to chat if you may have any questions, concerns, complaints - or even if you just want to talk Baseball, I never stop talking about the Game.   Good luck to all - and have a safe start of the Fall Season!   The Spindletop Sox will select its Roster starting:   December 6 and 7   Walk-On Player Selection:   January 4     - Coach BJ Myers   MyersBaseball.com   409.720.8951
  5. There's my email ([email protected]) - and my phone number has been listed (409) 720-8951 (and is posted on my website) - I have yet to receive ANY form of contact from any of you.  If your anger/frustration is towards me, then why not speak to me about it?  Hit me up on twitter @Myers_Baseball or even on facebook - BJ Myers   Rounder17 - please do call so we may discuss your frustration with me.  I do have questions about your "money back guarantee" you made before last season and your "2 year varsity project" that you freely copy/pasted from me while mocking my work. Feel free to sign your name at the end of your posts so I may continue the conversation - or do you prefer to blast me with anonymity?     Have a wonderful day, and I look forward to meeting you in the days/months to come!   - BJ Myers
  6. Regardless of which establishment you choose to participate with - understand you do have a choice.   Along with that choice, YOU are the one in charge of the situation - and with that power, you should hold those that are instructing your children accountable.   Just a few Questions you need to ask:   1. What colleges are you contacting, or talking to, in regards to my son?    - If the answer is "none" ...you should demand more from them.  If your child's instructor stops working on improving your child after you leave their sight - then you are only getting 'partial coaching.'  There are countless hours of work that your child's coach should provide for you outside of any building, or field.  Emails, phone calls, and meetings are just a portion of what your coach should provide - ask to view your child's Training and Performance Chart and Outline of Future Training...if one doesn't exist for your child, then you should demand more from your child's instructor.  How can your child fully develop if there is not a plan set in place *on paper*, goals charted, and information from your child's training to track the progress of their development?   2. Are you improving the vitality of my child?    - If the answer is "we train baseball skills, not health"...you should demand more physical training and health education from them.  Working on your swing is only about 10% of the Baseball Training your child really needs to advance.  There are '5 Tools' that your child will be judged on from the eyes of a scout (Arm Strength, Fielding Ability, Speed, Hitting for Power, and Hitting for High Average). Outside of the 5 Tools are the 'Intangibles of the Game' that are also graded (Field/Position Awareness, Communication, Leadership, Game Situation Awareness, High Pressure Decision Making,Performance Etiquette, Endurance, etc...)...what exactly is your child being taught? and is the health of your child sustaining, improving...or are your child's instructors even monitoring/training the health of your child...?   3. Can my child receive instruction from coaches that are employed with other organizations in this area?    - If this answer is anything other than "yes, you are free to gain knowledge/training from any other coaches/trainers you choose" then you are being misled and treated as a commodity. First off, you are a person - nobody "owns the rights" of you or your child.  The path your child is on (should it be one of 'advancing to baseball beyond high school') will be filled with a diversity of knowledge from many different experiences, and perspectives of the Game.  There is not one single person that holds all the answers in Baseball - the goal should be to accumulate as much information/training from as many different people you can and piece together the bits of information that work best to your application of skill to create "your own style of play."  Discovering 'what works best for you' is the key - much like the old adage of "skinning a cat" - there are 1,000's of ways to play this Game.         MBC Coaches will be in attendance at all Marauder Fall Baseball League Games, plus a variety of other tournaments throughout the area during the Fall.   Feel free to ask any question, or voice complaints you may have - We will be there in person so all matters may be dealt with face-to-face.   Should you decide to join MBC while you are a member of any other organization - We will accommodate the transition.  Plus - you are free to participate with any other organization while a member of MBC (now...if the other organization you are apart of declines...maybe you should ask "Why am I not allowed to participate in what I wish to participate in?)     MyersBaseball.com is undergoing a transition from a Personal Site to a Business Site to better accommodate its Members - yet information is available on the site, along with contact information.     We look forward to meeting with the many faces of Southeast Texas Youth Baseball in the months to come,    - BJ Myers [email protected]
  7. Well...major swing and miss on my part.  I appreciate Allen getting a hold of me over the phone, and after he reassured me he is not Coach85 (and I see you open with that very statement) - which is relieving because I hadn't known of a personal issue between us that wasn't resolved already - so things make much more sense now.   I was in the wrong on this one to throw him under the bus, I am sorry - not trying to act all "PC" on the apology, but I will own up for being 100% wrong with my response.  Since he is not Coach85, Allen literally did nothing to provoke a response with me 'throwing some jabs' at him - so the egg is on my face.  I'll own.   I wish you the best of luck as well Allen, and I reported my response to the Admins - My bad man.    - For a "blanket statement" to the post - I "promote myself" because if I don't, nobody will.  I don't have the support that "proven coaches" have because I am building my Coaching Career to become "proven" and with the "feathers I've ruffled" already, if anybody speaks about me - it's often ignorant to the situation and negative.   It's 2014 - and I simply look at it as "marketing."  Call it what you will - but if playing the "heel" in Southeast Texas Baseball is what keeps me in people's minds, then I would be dumb to ignore the potential interest I could generate.  How many Coaches are active in 5+ years of coaching, and how many teams do you see created just within setx...? ...and yet I can't think of many of their names  - so by being the target of these 'already established organizations' only proves to me that I am making good progress.  (Just like the politcal party system...Ya the Dem. hate the Rep....but they will work together to always maintain that the choice will only be between a Dem. or Rep.  They won't allow a 3rd party to survive just to keep it in control of the 2 parties)   I've posted less than 40 posts in my entire time on this site...and many of them have over 400 views, plus there were series of posts made about me, from others, that generated over 1,000 views.  I literally didn't have to post anything, and people were viewing/posting about me...seems like an opportunity to me.  I look at this as: Turn Lemons into Lemonade - and I do not have the "bells and whistles" that comes from the already established organizations.  I have to create with the most modest resources you can imagine...and in the 2 very short years I've spent as a full-time Coach for youth baseball - the training is effective.  Different? Absolutely  Has it never been done?  Haha, of course not.  The game is over 100 years old.   ...so, how does one materialize an idea into the area with already established baseball community, competing with countless people who can provide greater resume's to the public - who already have made a decision they feel comfortable with years previous?   You call it "promoting myself" "immaturity" or even "under qualified compared to the other options" I call it: "getting noticed"  "maximizing an opportunity"  and "disrupting the current status-quo of the baseball community"      - As far as a more accurately response directed to the right person - I am not furthering the conversation unless you sign your name to your posts.  Not being confrontational, I just know I can avoid making the same mistake twice if I knew exactly whom I am speaking with.   All the best, and again Allen - my bad man,   - BJ Myers
  8. It's because I don't think I am the 'all mighty guru of Baseball' and that I still work to study/learn the Game - especially the Coaching/Managing side of the Game.     Funny, but I can remember comments from you, during our time together at Athlete's, complimenting my attention to detail and how effective I have shown to coach *whether it was the 14U team I had, or after tryouts when we'd all meet together and discuss our notes from the players who tried out - can't remember a face to face interaction where you weren't 'positive' towards my work.   I don't know where I did anything personally to you - even during the whole 'potential roster movement' within Athletes (regarding one of your players) where his father approached me and the FIRST thing after my practice I did was talk to your little brother about it, and then call you on the way home about it to be as 'professionally-courteous' as possible to my coworkers.  Every phone and face-to-face interaction I've had with you, to my knowledge, has never been anything 'ill-mannered' towards you.  Hell, to be real, I never knew you had a beef with me until the posts you posted about me on here after "the meeting" I had with my 12U parents - hell man, we played on the Jays together for the MSBL and never seemed to have any problems    I appreciate the Chess shout out because I take great pride in my Chess Game (though my online rating is only 1425 - like baseball, still much for me to learn to improve)   If you feel I act "immature" then why not be glad I'm no longer affiliated with the organization you represent?  If I am so 'under qualified' and 'have no proven track record' then who am I to have any influence on your thoughts, emotions, or actions to even speak out against?   All I know is that you obviously have a personal distaste for me, and I don't know what I did to you to cause it...but hey, that's life I suppose - and I've learned through the short-time I have been involved as a Coach, that I will never please everyone - so I don't try to.   Allen, I have big respect for your Game and how you played the Game.  The crazy deceptive pickoff move and pitching backwards with an emphasis on your inside slider to Right Handed Hitters is a weapon I saw you master, and felt you raised the bar (in this area) when it came to Pitching.  I was even a fan of how ferocious you swung the stick, and can vividly remember seeing you park a deep shot against LCM at Vincent-Beck to take Game 1 of the Reg. Finals in 04 (want to say it was off of Cloeren) - but it seems we are not on the same page when it comes to Coaching. I hope one day we can share the field in peace again - but I do not shy away from rivals, nor competition (To be honest...I welcome it.  It only brings out more intensity in competition -  and I eat that up)   All I know is you proclaim against my "maturity" and how "I would much rather my son play for someone who is proven and conducts theirselves in a mature manner such as Prospects, Gladiators, or Sundevils."  however plenty of people in the stands at Marauder Park saw me extend my hand to you at home plate, and you refusing to shake my hand at the start of the game...hmm...   As far as "being proven" or "guys in this area have gone way farther in their careers than me" - ok, cool.  Anybody with a brain stem can put my resume to another's and see where many others went further - but if you seriously think that being a "proven player" is what qualifies you as a "proven coach" - then I think there is much to the Game you have to learn as well.   I'll see you on the field again - I'm hoping we don't need to succumb to these forms of communication to "proclaim our stances" especially if were are going to be nothing but spiteful towards each other.  We both have each other's phone number - we can communicate directly.     Same thing I offer to others - leave me alone and let me do my thing, and I'll leave you alone to do your thing and see you on the field.  There's no reason we can't be civil - especially if we are both in the business of "leading young adults."   Wish you all the best man,     - BJ Myers
  9. Haha, you would think right?  I am very glad to have played with the Jays to meet/reconnect with many of these guys.  I feel very confident in the abilities of the guys on board and those that know them, know they know the Game.   Who knows - maybe we'll give it a run at topping our 29-1 season from a few years ago?   More additions to the Staff are to come.  Darrel Stevens has agreed to come on board in a part-time role (shift working schedule to work around) and I am in talks with 2 others to join (one part-time, one full-time)   My big goal is to have an 6-8 man coaching staff (including myself) to cover 1 program, divided into 2 teams.  Create as much diversity in "perspectives of the Game" to teach the Athletes, while surrounding myself with wise council to carry out decisions.
