  1. I just found my answer. In the past 35 years, I only found FIVE two-game winning streaks. They never even won three in a row. Wow...
  2. Hmmm, I wonder if anyone will ever be able to figure out a way to win there. Have the Red Devils ever even made the playoffs?
  3. As much as I'd love to include Jasper in this conversation (we had a really nice run between 1980 and 1984), there's no way to justify it. The Bulldogs have never won a championship. We're proud of our tradition as a top-tier football school in the area, but we need to win a title to validate that.
  4. I would argue that those 80's WOS teams were better just because those dudes were grown men that had less to do, so they could spend more time on football and in the weight room. Kids in general aren't in that kind of shape, so it created less competition for this version of the Mustangs, who were clearly in better condition and worked harder than kids at other schools. I'm not throwing shade at you guys at all. It's just that football was a lot more physical across the board back then. What do you guys think?
  5. I heard from a couple of different sources that he could be back in time for the NFC Championship if the Seahawks can get that far. Steven Terrell was pretty good beyond that first play that he was in and with the rest of that defense, they should be fine until Earl can return.
  6. Jasper will have to play its best game in a very long time. Outside of WOS, I have more respect for Gilmer as an opponent than anybody we ever play. We can do it, but we need to be creative and get a few breaks that we're known not to get in years past.
  7. Should be a good one. We definitely owe them some heartbreak...
  8. Jasper won 35-21 and will play Gilmer next week. No word on when and where...
  9. Jasper was down 17-10 with 10 minutes left and rallied to win 24-17 with a last-minute score.
  10. Final: Jasper 41, Tatum 17. Nice win for the Dawgs that puts them in the driver's seat for the district title.
  11. It's good to see the Huskies back on the national map. They were down for quite a while, but Peterson's doing a great job. The scary thing for the rest of the Pac-12 is that UW is a really young team and their recruiting is about to blow up.
  12. i was really interested in this game going into the season, but WOS is a monster this year. Silsbee might score on them, but they won't do nearly enough. WOS 42-13.
  13. More than any high school game that I can remember. The officials had a rough night and we committed some pretty stupid penalties...
