Kudos to The Franklin Lady Lions basketball team. I am just wondering @lionpride08 are there any flaws in the well oiled program called The Franklin Lions Athletic Department.

This was a shock for sure, but a decent majority of the folks in Dayton seem to be welcoming the change. I wasn't aware that Ware had worn out his welcome in the community, but apparently there is a contingent that wants to try and bring some of the hometown Bronco's back to run the program. Only thing I'll say on that topic is, be careful what you wish for Dayton. 

Enjoy your turkey Thursday because there are going to be lots of people eating CROW on Friday.

Gives us close games and one good opponent that won't physically beat us up before district. 
 

The real question is, why is this becoming a thing for smaller schools?  Save the money and hire an AD who can handle, coordinate and facilitate the job duties required, or am I missing something?  It seems the pay for these HC's without the AD title is on the lower side, so wouldn't that in turn reduce the amount of suitable candidates with aspiring dreams of becoming "the guy" to lead a program (where football matters)?

End of first round of district. 4 way tie for first and 5th place 1 game back. Going to be a great 2nd round of district. Huge games Tuesday Onalaska hosts Shepherd and Tarkington hosts Coldspring.

Im gonna say Kountze -10… Idk what size Orangefield has but teams with some size and that are aggressive on the boards tend to do better vs Kountze… and at the same time they have to handle the press.. but if Kountze is shooting the ball well then look out

I think both teams have been thinking about this game for a while now. The top 2 teams in the district, both undefeated, two great coaches, two great guards. This is going to be a great game! I’ll take Kountze by 11

Kountze’s depth along with the defense they play will cause 95 percent of teams serious problems.  It’s the 5 percent that have elite guards where it falls apart because it leads to easy buckets on the other end.  Then the question becomes how good is your half court defense?  As often as not, it’s relatively weak due to reliance on the press.  This is why relatively few teams do this at the next level and the ones that do, use it to eat shot clock vs causing turnovers   
 
Having said all that, Kountze could win every game by 20+ until they play a Hitchcock and then they could get beat by 20+ if they are unable to adjust.   In terms of Orangefield, Scales is probably the best ball handler I’ve seen there in the almost 30 years I’ve been following (and only a sophomore).  This will definitely be the most interesting matchup of the district imo

This district has 5 legit teams battling for playoff spots. 

Will be looking at this one as one of my games I'll attend next week.

The last game for both of these two teams was against Jasper. WOS won 100-39 and Silsbee won 108-52. First place in district is on the line in this matchup. Will Silsbee keep their district dominance? Will WOS be able to keep up with Silsbee’s constant pressure? Will Silsbee be 100% back? Will the weather affect this game? Will there be standing room only? Will the concession stand run out of nachos? These questions and more will be answered Friday night in the Tiger Den.
