  1. Why 11/20? Were they put under quarantine due to exposure? If so, those are 14 days.... Being that they played on the 10th vs Westbury, if they quarantined the next day, the 24th would be the earliest. Hopefully this was a precautionary move by BISD and not a county (health department) mandate.
  2. Game was cancelled due to bella vista being unable to travel. HJ has rescheduled Summer Creek for next wednesday.
  3. India played... just listed points. She has done alot of good things in the first two games.
  4. Lady Hawks looked good in stretches! Pretty Good up and down game with some good half court O as well. Lady Hawks now 2-0 on the season. Ashlon Jackson- 24 Molly Beavers-13 Kendall Sneed-12 Makenna Henry-10 Audie Rogers-8 Ashlyn Yarbrough-4 Rylee Wirth-5 Jada Pleasant-5 Lauren O'Neal-2
  5. Great first day for the Lady Hawks today! Loads of talent this year and a hard working group of girls. They will be fun to coach and definitely fun to watch this year!
  6. Im putting united and B-Hill over Foster and College Station. especially if played on a neutral court. Just rankings, thats why we play the games!!!!! Winner of Dist 19 would see either foster, college station, or the 2nd place team from dist 19 in the regional finals.... Lots on the line to win dist 19!
  7. Is this supposed to be a knock on Girls coaches? Basketball is basketball. The Golden Triangle has several Girls coaches that I have coached against that coach any boys team in this area. Screens are screens, sets are sets, presses are presses... Foolish comment....
  8. had the honor of meeting you a while back.. they work you guys do for girls basketball across the state is phenominal! Glad to see yall making your way down here. There are some ladies in SETX that can flat out hoop! thanks nick! coach fogo
  9. In the case of yates, you had a few kids who were appointed "guardianship" to a booster who lives in the yates zone. How does a school check this, when the District committee is entirely HISD? How does a school check when the guardianship was legalized? By rule, It has to be one year out... I would assume it was done last spring or summer. Other schools should have access to papfs and documents to check.... not rely on the home school checking it out.. For most, its not about the transfers... that happens.... Its how they got them and how it was done that bugs folks. There was an 8th grade tournament in Houston the past weekend or so.... I am sure Coach Wise was there, yet yates had no team in the tournament..... hmmm... FROM UIL ELGIBILITY GUIDELINES... (b) GUARDIAN OF PERSON. If a student’s parents are alive but a guardian of his or her person was appointed by appropriate authority and recorded in the county clerk’s office more than one year ago, the residence of the student is presumed to be that of the guardian if the student has continuously resided with the guardian for a calendar year or more. If no legal guardianship has been taken out, three years’ residence with and support of a contestant establishes guardianship within the meaning of this rule. (c) GUARDIAN. If a student’s parents are dead and a guardian of his
  10. It is about how they got there. The District commitee that decides these things is all the same school district. Many feel that the district allows this to happen for obvious reasons... My suggested fix is to have the district committee that decides and looks into these allegations be the two districts that neighbor each other and play in the bidistrict round... Either that, or all the people swearing this is not on the up and up, hire a PI, find where they live and find what made them come there. If a kid moves there to play, isnt that moving for athletic purposes?

  12. what is missing in all of this conversation defending yates, is the recruiting part. Im sure the 4 6'9 kids were not on yates JV last season.. and im sure they didnt transfer for the stellar communications program there. Transferring for athletic reasons, or being recruited there are against uil rules..... Imagine combining the best that HJ, Silsbee, EC and Kountze has to offer and then go play a 4a schedule......That population size is still 1/1000 the size of the city of houston.
  13. After the first round of district, I truly believed we would have a 1vs 4 and a 2vs3 matchup from our district in the 3rd round. Great job tonight by HJ, Lumberton and WOS, all moving on to the Area round. Tomorrow night, Silsbee gets their shot! To the girls from district 22-4a, WAY TO REPRESENT!

  18. This district is hard to get scores/ results out of..
  19. Great TEAM win tonight on senior night! Lady Hawks move to 26-8 on the season and 11-0 in district behind a career high 31 point game from Asia Wheeler. Delberta Guillory-Smith added 22 and Makenna Henry had 16. The girls shared the ball really well! Proud of our seniors, Kassi Hardy, Delberta Guillory Smith, Asia Wheeler and Imrie Collier!!! These girls have dealt with alot over 4 years! Floods, deaths, hurricanes etc! The score doesnt really reflect it, but kudos to coach DJ Wilson over at WOS. Changing a culture is a hard thing to do.... he has it going in the right direction.
  20. stats dont always tell the story though because teams run different systems. A girl on a team with a press system should have more steals than a girl on a team who nags their hat on half court man d.... same with points... No one sends stats in anymore sadly....
