Honestly thought it would be closer, I do think BU got out of their game, rather the refs had something to do with it or not comes with the territory but BU has to learn how to play through Adversity. . . They showed they could when they stormed back, but they have to finish!!!!!! One of my biggest pet peeves. People crying for a foul doesn’t even exist.

KOGT has been the only pipeline of local news with weekly visits with the judge, LIT Orange, county and city meeting minutes, police reports, local business promotions, charitable events, etc. Dang, as I’m listing them its becoming more evident that Orange County will hurt without KOGT. Furthermore, KOGT promoted many school events other than football. They broadcast, baseball, basketball, softball as well. These are programs that attract less attendance but still attracted a radio audience. It won’t take long after their closing to realize the true impact.

Its one tournament. Its not district and its not the playoffs. Its 14-16 year olds having a few bad games. You play these type of tournaments to get better. The 3 teams Silsbee lost to would be favored with Silsbee in Region 3. You can't overreact to a tournament. Silsbee will be fine. 11 more district games to improve and then the playoffs. No other team in Region 3 would have done much better.

If the station were to sell, it likely would go to a corporation and not a private owner. Then it would be more of a syndicate type radio station. Only the advertising would be local. Home grown, owned radio stations are almost extinct.

All I’m saying is call it both ways then if we’re fouling them. Going the other way, they’re fouling too but hardly any calls at all. Those refs were horrible, but we still had problems keeping them off the boards anyway. I would love to see how many offensive rebounds they got in this game. We’ll, we came to this tournament to get a challenge and we got one. And I think or should I say I figure we learned something from this…

I’m rooting for BU, but United is fouling them on most of the drives and then the fans are mad that they’re calling it. Then the 7-footer gets easy rebounds over everyone because… he’s a seven footer, and BU fans are screaming for over the back on every. Single. Rebound.

There is sports psychology to all this. Last year Silsbee had some solid seniors. They had Baltrip who could jump and rebound. They had Gilder who hustled and hit timely 3s. Then they beat Yates. Yates was making it on name inflation. they were good but not as good as their ranking. The tigers beat them and we enter this season # 2. Maybe they really should be # 4 or # 6. We beat some then ranked 6A teams and the teams confidence is high. We were confident enough to beat Madison on our turf. Then we come to the DISD tournament in Dallas. Dallas is like the Mecca of high school ball. There's talent all over the state. BU proved that. Still, there is basketball mindset in the Dallas area that is like no other area. Then you play Carter. You get behind but you can't comeback and beat them. At that point the team is down, not depressed but sort of questioning themselves. But they really didn't have time to recover cause they got beat soundly by Bishop Lynch at 6pm that same evening, yesterday. They beat Wilmer Hutchins only to play Madison again. They came back and beat Mad. before in Beaumont but this time they are in Dallas. D Madison is out to settle the score. So now the tigers go home. Get some rest. Get some practices in and start district play. They should be wiser and stronger. They should easily make the playoffs. How far do they go? Who knows?

Silsbee didn't even play very well and beat Madison a few weeks ago. Now they're slapping us around by 25 points most the game. Beyond pathetic. You can pump the brakes on all that going to state talk, as far as I'm concerned. Proof is in the pudding. You played though teams and came up small. That's all on us and nobody else.

Something just doesn’t seem right about this whole tournament

They are the biggest TAPP's 6A School in the state of Texas..! And they recruit very well. They have alot of height and have very good shooters .. They are currently rank #3 . Faith Family beat them by 15 and Carter lost to them by 2.. The are a College preparatory school and to send your kid it would be $19,700

I agree with your Redskin comment somewhat. I like to think that “This is the NFL”. You have to tighten up the chin straps every week or you could have games like the Bengals/Ravens or Texans/Chargers. Dallas is the best team, although you will hear the argument for GB. GB got 4 turnovers from Cleveland and the Browns still had a chance to win. Doesn’t speak well for GB to me, so I put my Cowboys ahead. Dallas needed to stomp the crap out of the Skins. They swept us last year without Dak, and they poured it on thick. When it was 42-7 at the half, I went to bed. Lol Favorite play was the pick 6 by Lawrence. Ty Cobb, I would shop Zeke and start Pollard. He hits the hole with more authority and field vision. I do like switching them out, though. Zeke lost me last year when Dak went down and he said he guessed he would have to step up his game.
