  1. FB friend posted a meme showing “How to prevent the Delta variant”. It showed a person putting in ear plugs. FB censored it. Evidently FB thinks people are to stupid to discern the difference in a joke or serious information. Based on the election results, FB may be right.

  2. Yeah especially Katy. They played in the D2 football championship with significantly more kids than both D1 participants. SMDH...

  3. People these days want to have life handed to them on a silver platter. Nobody wants to take the time to build a program and develop it. Rome wasn't built in a day. Not really the message to send to kids.

  4. Congratulations [Hidden Content] Round 4, 121st overall: Chad Dallas, RHP, Tennessee Notable Skill: Dallas added a cutter recently and it quickly became his best pitch, giving right-handed hitters fits. That pitch sits in the mid-80s behind his fastball, which sits 90-94 mph but has touched 98 mph. At 5-foot-11 and 206 pounds, Dallas doesn’t have the traditional starter’s build, but when the University of Tennessee recruited him as a reliever, he quickly pitched his way to being the program’s No. 1 starter. Dallas put up a 4.19 ERA this season, striking out 122 batters with just 20 walks over 103 innings, showing strong control of the zone. His secondary pitches will need to catch up, but that cutter has loads of potential. Fun Fact: His nickname is “Cheese.” Dallas’ brother, Jack, is a pitcher at Lamar University and his father, Tony, played baseball at Panola College. In high school with West Orange-Stark, Dallas won consecutive Class 4A state championship games. Quotable: When Dallas arrived at Tennessee, two of his teammates -- Connor Pavolony and Evan Russell -- didn’t think he was a pitcher. Instead, they admitted to him later that they first thought he was a catcher, as Dallas told Knox News. “Size is for the eyes, wins are for the stats,” Dallas said.

  8. The enrollment disparity between the largest schools and smallest schools in the classification...new schools aren't built at 4A/3A they open as 5A/6A so as more new schools get added in it trickles down to 4A and widens that gap.....UIL wants to get as close to a 2:1 ratio as possible and right now the cut line in 4A is 1229 and the smallest is 515...thats a large gap.....we are adding ten new 5A/6A schools in 2022.....that gap in 4A is going to get even larger because more small 5A's are going to drop because there's only so many spots in 5A/6A and they already have a lot of nine and ten team districts

  9. You really think Division 2 and 3 coaches aren't smart enough to tell their players to shade to the kid's only hand? Seriously, him being a functional basketball player is an amazing feat.

  10. You think you do? HD has tons of locker room material on D-ville from the ref that got reprimanded after da protested game to da basketball game disrespect that went down. Yep da head ref was found to be crooked they investigated and he was written up the other refs that called da game with the this head ref stated they would never ref with him again. Da UIL was able to find many discrepancies in the calls after watching film. One of the most lopsided called games ever UIL could see the calls not called both ways, and calls on HD that never would be called the other refs stated they were in shock of all the flags the head ref was calling on HD. HD has all the locker room material!

    UIL: 7A and other news

It would make much more sense to split 6A into divisions and not create a 7A.

    UIL: 7A and other news

6A Supers have been resisting a split forever. However, they also opposed what would be now a 7A 30 years ago. I don't know if the legislative council can pick either up without their approval.

    Battle for OC

OC is going to be a dog fight between LCM, WOS, and OF. Not sure who has the edge. All three teams have solid players. Morris and Elliot for LCM, Wardlow and the big in the middle of WOS, and Wrinkle and Ragusa for OF. Personally, I am going with depth. OF is deeper. They had the better JV and many of those players will step in to help at the varsity level. They have the ability to shoot the ball extremely well. Wrinkle and Ragusa can both go for over 20 on any given night. They have two solid posts that play tough inside. Some others have mentioned the length of LCM. They are big, but no help from the bench. Any foul trouble and they are in trouble. As aggressive as Morris plays on defense, he will get fouls. The big in the middle will foul. Outside shooting will also be a question mark for them. Jeffcoat does a great job with them though, so I never count them out. WOS is a question mark with the new coach coming in. They lost some good players to graduation, but do have Wardlow and the big inside back. Not sure what help they will have from the bench either. Their under levels were not good. Not to discount BC, but what would be their best player (Oceguera) hasn't played all summer due to focusing on football. Their big guy in the middle is going through some health concerns as well. Collins and Britten have been solid, but they can't carry the load in this district. Not real sure about Vidor. I know they lost a lot to graduation as well. Their under levels weren't very good either. They have a wing that is not bad, but not sure what they have after that. Below are my predictions for OC finish and district. Not that it matters. OC-OF, LCM, WOS, BC, Vidor District-Silsbee, OF, Lumberton, LCM, WOS, BC, Vidor

  18. Coaching stability is a key ingredient for success in any sport. A good coach that will stay can build a good program in most cases.

  19. I figured that if he wanted to have a discussion about facts, we needed actual facts, not narratives wrapped up as "facts." He also "conveniently left out the fact of Kountze (72.8% white) has a black head coach AND AD in Duane Joubert and Kirbyville (79.9% white) has a black head coach in Travis Williams.

  20. Funny post in that every HD coach that’s ever dealt with this guy HD55 has started out liking him, and then quickly find out he’s a troublemaker and want to stay as far away as possible from him.

  21. Back then they mostly had kill the grass, dirt court basketball. No gyms, not cement courts...those came later. As far as I know, in the modern era, that is when it all started in Kountze. Them hoopers back then could play!
