    Hagar’s Ramblings

Had one of my old friends pass away. I got out of the Army on 11/7/67 & went to work on 2/12/68 at Houston Chemical in Beaumont. He was the guy that trained me on my job (I was replacing him, he was going to a Day job). He was a black guy, that was also a veteran, and very smart. He not only taught me the job, through the years, he taught me much of life. He was 82. I always called him on Juneteenth. Once, after he was retired & I was then working at X/M, I forgot. He couldn’t get hold of me & called others, afraid something was wrong. We had a good laugh over it. RIP my friend.

  5. When "they" went all in on the Confederate flag a couple of years ago I predicted that they would want the American Flag canceled next. They've attacked the anthem, etc.... It's just a matter of time. Americans will have to decide if they want to be Americans or whatever the left is wanting us to become.... a freaking socialist empire with all traces of history erased.... except for the part we celebrate in February. It's going to come to violence, I'm pretty sure.

Interesting video, just less than 10 minutes long. Evidently they got these six folks together & let them rate the groups IQ from top to bottom. The young military man w/o a college degree, was judged last by several liberals. And the one girl, who was extremely impressed with herself & her degree, well, I hope you watch it.

    June 6, 1944

June 15 is the day the invasion actually started but yes like Normandy there were bombings in the days up to it including the Philippine Sea (which is rumored to have a ship sunk carrying mosquitoes infected with the plague). As for being as important as D-Day, this was the first Japanese land the US invaded. It led directly to the resignation of Tojo, the shift in strategy from Japan, and the realization that the war was lost. The US could now directly bomb the country something it hadn’t done other than once in 1942. The three islands eventually held 15 runways about 8-10 were used for B-29s. The night you were referring to was Operation Meetinghouse the first firebombing attack something that even the US did not know the damage it would cause. It continued until the Atomic Bombs were dropped (the first one actually left San Francisco before the test as Los Alamos). The reasoning for the use is pretty incredible since it was partly due to the Soviets, our allies, starting to invade Korea to meet us in Japan. Just think these 3 Battles should be discussed a whole lot more and remembered similar to D-Day because it was the start of the end of the War in the Pacific and in one islands case, directly led to a change in how the entire world operates regarding conflicts.

    Critical Race Theory

mainstream : having, reflecting, or being compatible with the prevailing attitudes and values of a society or group The vast majority of the media outlets are biased to the left while Fox is right, which is what makes them #1. Main stream media means you have a prevailing attitude with other media outlets (which Fox does not). Has nothing to do with the viewership. It is so easy to make you look even dumber than you are, you're my best helper with that.

  17. 5,000 years ago, we were in an ice age. Now we are not. Did "man" cause this to happen.? Or could it be just "naturally" occurring?! BTW -- 1 volcano exploding is worst than anything man has ever done. Releasing tons of "bad stuff" into the atmosphere. How many volcanoes have exploded in the history of the world? And yet we still have an atmosphere!

  21. Anyone that has been involved in the energy industry knows that the US has made incredible strides to clean up emissions from plants, but it seems the left only wants to push for regulations that cripple US production. I believe that the earth warms and cools naturally and I don't think anyone has provided any evidence that proves that global warming is man-made. We were sounding the alarm for another ice age in the 70s and guess what was being touted along with it, more regulation. If anyone actually believes that global warming is man-made and wants to really make a difference, I suggest you pack your bags and head to China, Russia or India where the real polluters are and see if you can make them conform to the same standards we have here (after all, we are the good guys) as far as allowable emissions. Good luck!

One of the most impressive things about Sigler to me is that he is still doing it. He’s done it long enough, he could have ridden into the sunset with his rings and a full retirement. Kudos to him for continuing to impact young men’s lives for the love of the game.

While I will be taking a look at that in a couple of weeks, most districts don't post schedules until 1 month or so before the season starts.

  43. I have a co-worker who’s son attends LCM and is going into the 10th grade next fall. He plays baseball and played football in jr high but not his freshman year. He said Peevey had a meeting with all parents of anyone in athletics and told them he had an open door policy but if the topic of why thier kid wasn’t playing enough or playing a different position then the conversation would be over. He Said the coach stated very throughly he would not tolerate that at all. We shall see. I hope the best for them, but it’s gonna take a culture change from the parents to make it happen.

One could say it's harder to live up to the expectations than no expectations. One also could say Sigler could have warranted the COY. Lost 90% of his scoring from last year, started 2 freshmen, 2 soph., 1 senior, with the bulk of the team that saw significant playing time being freshmen and soph. Took the team to the regional finals once again (7th straight year) defeating a heavily favored Houston Yates team along the way. Two of their district losses due to having to play the JV in those games because of Covid. You could say Lumberton benefited from a terrible DEC decision. IMO, if Silsbee doesn't have to play their JV in those games, they win district. Again, just think Green deserved it more.

I have to say, a coach that leads his team to an undefeated state championship in one of the top classifications, beating some very good teams along the way, probably should be COY.
