Great win for the Horns. Making this former player (during the rough years) very proud. What we have here is a fantastic young coach who grew up here LOCALLY. We ought to be rooting for a local guy who brought a lot of pride here to the area as a player and is now doing great things as a coach. Got a program that not that long ago was absolute g a r b a g e, and now has them beating some of the great teams in the area. Pretty cool in my eyes.

Nice to see these ladies getting back to shooting hoops! Heres to a healthy and injury free season the rest of the way!

I personally think Tigee is an excellent coach. One of the best in the area. My point to the other poster was if you know basketball, one could see that for this year, the talent level is pretty equal between these two teams. One could argue (and be right) that HF is a bit more talented this year than PAM.

This is the same BC team that only lost to 8 by Silsbee last year. BC is a good ball club

I dont see BU getting more then 20 on our D. Lee we had 2 major break downs that seem to have been fixed. BU's offense isn't any thing like Lee's sooo... But then thats why we play the games. With high school kids no telling what can happen.

I'll say this. IMO the Jimmy's and Joe's aren't there on the Defensive front for the Injuns. Add to that a green DC and well you know the rest. Just an observation. Faircloth has had lots of turnover through the yrs staff wise. Is it that he's tough to work with or his assistants are that sought after. Tough job as a DC when you only get the Jimmy's and Joe's the OC culls...

Since I'm thinking about it again, I think last week's game requires some perspective. In 2013, PNG had an "ok" team that I think finished 2nd in a particularly weak district. That year, Crosby went to the semifinals. PNG played Crosby in the first round of the playoffs and, though we were a mostly normal team and Crosby had its best team ever, PNG still managed to keep the score at 28-49. This year PNG was "supposed" to have one of the best teams in the state, and Crosby is technically still rebuilding from the financial implosion of two years ago and is only in its second year with the coach, and PNG barely managed 14 points and got embarrassed on defense, with what is supposedly the best offense in the district, with what is actually the best QB in the area. The point in making the comparison: even Crosby's best team ever didn't blow us out the way we got blown out last week (Leaving aside the unanswered question as to where this year's Crosby team will rank -- If Crosby goes on to win state, I'll feel a lot better about this). Something is not being done right. I'll avoid saying what should be done, because I don't know exactly what must be done to make a defense good. But will say that whatever should be done isn't being done, whatever that is.

PA Memorial won a championship. It was a beautiful thing. PA Lincoln closed 25 years ago. You really haven't seen Port Arthur basketball. The Lincoln Bees had teams scared from the suburbs of Houston, to Dallas, all the way to El Paso, and all points in between. What you're seeing now is PA basketball lite.

HF is on the up, for now. Maybe it will stay. Closing Ozen helped. Tigee is a good coach, one of the better in the area. Time will tell. He's had his share of luck. Ozen talent came his way. And if you have a 6'10 250lb post on your team at the 4A level you should have at least 1 championship ring as a player. Can't take that away. Navigate the way to a ring & his legacy should be set. That's a lot of basketball dribbling but he's young.

Way too early to trip. The football playoffs are not over. Still dealing with covid and the holidays. should be some interesting district match ups. Then legacies are made in the playoffs. A win right now? it counts for something but otherwise meh. HF has come a longs ways though.

Man coach is doing his thang, closer to retirement. got 2 championship rings, accolades. They archive that stuff at the UIL you know, not here, thank goodness. Meanwhile, in regards to basketball, u & will still be here perfecting your trolling skills.

My best memory of Saban is when he was coaching at Michigan State and had to play the 1995 Nebraska team that is considered one of the best ever. The Huskers won that game 50-10.

I hear you but if you take the hypotheticals out of it, against the actual common opponents this season PAM has an average margin of victory 5ppg to Crosby's 33.5ppg. Not to mention PNG will most likely finish 3rd over here and has already beaten the 3rd place team from your district. Crosby was up 21-0 on Dayton at the half and just went through the motions in the second half. I don't think Prieto was trying to embarrass a first year coach at a struggling program? That being said, that 24-0 win over "the worst team by far" is actually Crosby's closest district game to date. I think another good indicator is PAM's average margin of victory being 17ppg in district play to Crosby's 33ppg in a tougher district.

Yeah he certainly has good cuts and vision once he gets in space. I guess I saw that Texas commitment and expected more. Very talented young man for sure.

Congrats to the Mustangs on a great season. Sad to see your season end this way especially how unconventional this year has been this year for everyone. Having multiple players out and still able put a product on the field Friday speaks volumes to kids and coaches willing to go compete and play! 🤝

Baby steps meaning 3 years, no playoffs. Now we’re here. Next step will probably be competing for a district championship, step after that, a farther playoff push, maybe another step is an undefeated season. Things like that. as far as talent and athletes go, yes, we have it, but everyone knows the first coach in school history was chosen not by the better coach, but was picked by a political view... a coach that was no even originally on the applicant list. A coach that have not coached in 20 years, a coach tjay was gonna be out after 2 years.

1 Manvel or 2 Foster or 3 Paetow or 4 Hightower. Not much difference in any of these guys. Its a tough match up. I say you play to stay/get healthy.
