In anticipation of this thread being closed before the game has even started, can we please get back to football?

SETXsports will have the audio broadcast tonight. Tim Scoggins will be doing it. I am no longer doing Silsbee football broadcasts. I am now doing Beaumont ISD games.

Game day. Good luck district mates. Today we are fans next week we are foes lol.

I hate to admit it, but Covid lockdowns, closures, mask, social distancing, etc, etc, is getting depressing. My wife & I both. I’m sure we’re not unique, but few will admit it. One of my grandsons was confirmed Wednesday. Restrictions on attendance, parents, siblings, and sponsors only. Had to watch it on livestream. I’m older than dirt. Shame to spend my final years like this.

I had the virus in March and did not know it. In fact, I was at my doctors office that day and the doc said I had a fever. Doc listened to heart and lungs and said nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I asked for a ZPac because it works well for me when I get my twice annually upper respiratory infection. Got home and had the chills from fever for 48 hours although fever never rose over 101.5. 48 hours later, fever was gone and I resumed my daily workouts that last for an hour. Loss of taste lasted for a week and cough also remained for a week. About a month later, I took an antibody test and tested positive. Knowing that tests can be less than dependable, I went for a second test at a different location and got same result. I later donated plasma at the blood center. Have a friend/neighbor a couple of years younger than me that died from it. Obviously it impacts different people in different ways. According to the experts, I was at extraordinary risk in several ways but managed to escape serious harm. Honestly, it was less harmful to me than the upper respiratory infection that I get a couple times each year.

Love your last sentence. Work with a a man who tested positive. He’s 65 and all he said bothered him was he had difficulty breathing. Nothing to go to the hospital over. I tested negative. He came back to work after a week. This thing is totally survivable. I am a positive person. Too easy to be negative.

Back in the day, I was a shade tree mechanic. Nowadays, you can’t get your arms between the engine and fender well, and there is so much more computer stuff, I gave up and take mine to a dealer. That serpentine belt alone is a deal breaker. I know I probably pay more, but I have peace of mind. What I am saying is, I don’t know any good mechanics anymore.

Not uptight at the board at all... it's just kinda nutty when the school/team announce that the name is insensitive and offensive and one of the mods says "who cares, I'll call them what I want." It's a slur. Plain and simple.

If you can, quote me the forum rule that prohibits calling the WO-S defense the "Chain Gang?" Hint, you won't find one. I set the policy on nickname of the Mustang defense back when the WO-C CISD set out its edict. I said that in official SETXsports.com content, i.e. previews, broadcast threads, game threads, we would abide by the decision of the WO-C CISD. However, individual posters would not be penalized. The same policy that was adopted when Beaumont ISD first named it's stadium the "Carroll A. 'Butch' Thomas Educational Support Center" and again when it was renamed "Beaumont ISD Memorial Stadium," I told folks that we would not penalize anybody for still calling the stadium "The Butch." See, we are a platform and there is only so far we can go to restrict language. Of course, we have some leeway there, but you will see that our rules are pretty standard. I think the real angst should be toward the WO-C CISD, a governmental entity who deigned to regulate speech of, not only residents and participants of the district but the public at large, over an unofficial nickname of the defense of the high school's football team. I can quote you a rule that prohibits that.

Last year the Nederland QB lead district in passing yards and set Nederland all-time passing yards for a season but sure a decade since a good one...but Cunningham is an athlete and do some things

I did not know that. I could tell how much Coach Rideaux cared about his players when he was at Lumberton. Who could blame kids for wanting to play for him? He is a great coach and he is a great role model.

I would also say Billy Daniels at A and J Engine service in groves, main ave. But I think he only does diesel. My dad worked in auto parts business over there for 40 years before he passed last fall. Why would you want him? He's a knucklehead. He's the same young man that was using the n-word all nilly willy last year. He clearly hasn't learned anything. Besides, even if he transferred, he would still have to serve the school suspension at his new campus. Moving to a new school doesn't negate the punishment. Tulsa should consider letting him figure this out at Jr. college. If he's dumb enough, (or more likely entitled enough) to get caught with weed at school, he's not making good life choices right now. He should focus on life and worry about football later. That said, free the weed in Texas.

I was told his fam lived in Beaumont before they moved to Katy. I know he played little league here in PA.

Having a guy like Limbrick that is durable and also a gamebreaker is a huge advantage against most teams, but the Bulldogs will need to diversify the offense some against some of the good teams in our district. Center is pretty good from what I can tell and Rusk seems to be a decent team, but we all know that Carthage is the team to beat. We've played them in the past with good teams and have gotten run off the field. That can't happen anymore. We have to be ready to play.

I stay away from there. 85 can't post about PN-G without some type of derogatory comment. If I was on here making childish comments and call outs about Port Arthur I would be booted from the board.

I think all the kids on Nederland are like 6'8" maybe 6'8 1/2"
