    ID Requirement to Vote

I do feel like A valid ID is not asking much

  5. There ARE people out there who would like to see more requirements to be able to vote. There is a segment of the population that believes that "uninformed" people should be discouraged from voting... much in the way that juries are picked. Voter ID requirements are the simplest and most effective first step in weeding out the goofballs. I've got the right/obligation to vote. But what about my parents who are incoherent? Should I intercept their ballots and vote "the way they'd want to?" Or what if the administrator at the nursing home intercepts their mail-in ballots and votes for a candidate that "looks like her?" Because trust me... my step-grandmother voted twice after she went to the nursing home with dementia. We wouldn't have known if the local democratic party hadn't started soliciting her for donations. There's a segment of the population that believes that there should be more barriers/prerequisites to vote. The idea that every informed voter can have his/her vote canceled by someone who couldn't even pick either candidate out of a photo array is extremely annoying, and it's how we end up with crappy leaders. The argument can be made that only tax payers (property, income, etc) should be allowed to vote. It's widely accepted that the fall of the Roman Empire was largely accelerated by letting non-landowners vote. People who aren't going to be affected by higher property taxes or higher income taxes will almost always vote for tax increases. If you ask me, we need to go back to voting like they do whenever we "give" those middle-easterners a taste of sweet democracy. You go down to the polls on election day and they dye your thumb purple once you've voted. So much less trouble that way. This guy hit it pretty much spot on. If you ask me, we're right at the tail end.... "dependence" on the state is the condition of so many of our voters. A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.

  6. They still should have a good line. The big losses were on the defensive line... But with the entire backfield returning along with the QB (All juniors) we should be better than last year. But this region is soo tough... Thanks for the love WOS peeps!

  7. Well I did some digging and it looks like the backup QB only threw 2 passes and the last TD was by a back up running back. So perhaps just sour grapes.

  12. You can rest most assured that my mental capabilities will compare favorably to yours when it comes to simplicity. I fully understand why you wont answer the question. You have made it more than obvious that you believe that all problems that arise for a certain segment of society came about not because of anything done by members of that segment but rather by others from outside that segment. In other words, certain fokds need not take responsibility for their actions . " Victimology" at its finest.

  13. You’re the one who made the statement. Clarify your comments. It won’t hurt. Admit it. It was a stupid comment that serves only as an excuse to perpetuate (that means keep it going) bad behavior.

  14. I’m glad you’re not a teacher. If someone doesn’t understand, you just blow them off. OR You don’t understand it either and are just regurgitating some stupid crap you’ve heard others say (which I suspect is the case). Let’s play a game. I’m going to write a sentence and you tell me if it makes sense. You can use short answers, so as not to confuse yourself. “I can’t get a home loan, so I guess I’ll do drugs and kill people.” Sense or no?

Or...it could be that he hasn’t done a very good job. It’s oft times good to look at both sides. A good coach can have high expectations AND make the kids and parents like it. Maybe he’s just not good at that.

  22. Well see, that is the problem my friend. This is the football forum for this message board. I understand that COVID-19 will cast a shadow over this season. However, in a little over two weeks, barring a reversal which at this point does not appear forthcoming, there will be a start to the football season. Some may love that fact, some may not. But it is a fact. The fact that WO-C CISD Superintendent Rickie Harris did not disclose positive tests for an employee at North Early Learning Center and at WO-S Elementary to other employees at those campuses is concerning and discussion over his obligations are a topic for discussion. Just not in this particular forum. That is a discussion for the locker room forum.

I've seen some comments on here saying Jones "bit off too much", and "I haven't heard anything good." If "biting off too much" means holding young men accountable, and EXPECTING them to work hard everyday is "biting off too much" then so be it. If "not hearing anything good" means little Johnny's parents are pissed off because Coach Jones is mean and requires too much of little Johnny then so be it. It's a shame people act this way when someone in charge expects something of them or their children.

  25. No sir, you obviously don’t know the amount of people that are on a waiting list for the opportunity to adopt a child. My brother and his wife tried to adopt on 3 separate occasions after going thru tons of red tape only to have the mother change their mind literally at the last minute not to give her baby away which is a good thing. But after 15 years of not being able to have a baby due to medical reasons she ended up pregnant. They have a healthy baby boy now. Women just need to be made aware there is a better option instead of having that on their conscience the rest of their life. So to answer your question it would make a huge impact on couples that can’t have kids. I bet you all the people that are for abortions are glad their parents didn’t think that way.
