  1. I’m grown/wise . I’m a 28 year old black man who spends free time arguing with old white men🤣... I need a life.. And don’t go holding back

  2. If there's one thing this has taught us, we can survive without sports. We can survive without movies and concerts. Isn't it crazy that we idolize, follow, and imitate athletes and celebrities who have been proven to be non-essential by Covid?

  3. I don’t know if I’ve said this already on this site, but if it will keep all of our kids (all of SETX athletes) safe, just shut all the HS sports down this year and take no chances. It sucks for us, but at this point, I’m prepared to be without HS sports and auxiliary for a year.

  4. They didn’t have a test. They couldn’t tell me what it was but that it was more than likely a virus. They tested me for everything. I ve never been as sick as I was then. It lasted about 9 days. I stayed hydrated and rested. With viruses they have to run there course. it took me 2 months to get my breathing right. I’m a runner. I ran 10 to 15 miles in a 5 day week....I know my body really well. I had to really push myself to get back to my norm. And yes antibodies are present.

  5. There s no cure for the flu either....people get the flu shot and sometimes still get it. Viruses mutate...... I respect it. Me and my wife Got the covid before this came a big deal (mid December) and beat it without any help from doctors. Oh and I have 5 kids and none of them got it. Viruses have to run its course. i don’t have Facebook or any other type of social media. This site is the only one I communicate on. i will do what ever my employer says. again we are just hurting healthy people s immunities. Those that have underlying issues are the ones that need to protect themselves. Not the healthy ones.

  6. There’s other problems with starting online. Most teachers will have a whole classroom of new students. They won’t know the students. Which ones need extra help? Which ones parents are doing their work? Were I a teacher, I’d be concerned about that. As Eagleforever said, if we wait until Covid is no more, it’ll be years. Prayers our leaders make the right decisions.

  7. 2020 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREVIEWS WEST ORANGE-STARK MUSTANGS 2019 Record: 10-2 Overall, 4-0 District Class 4A, Division II Region III Finalist The 2019 football season for the West Orange-Stark Mustangs was a season of streaks, both good and bad being extended. First for the good as the 2019 season marked the ninth year in a row...every year in Cornel Thompson's tenure as Mustang head coach...that West Orange-Stark made the regional finals. However, the 2019 season also marked the second year in a row that the Mustangs playoff road ended at the regional finals. To clear that hurdle in a region that has gained a bit more firepower, the Mustangs will count on five returning starters and seven returning defenders. COACHING Head Coach: Cornel Thompson Assistant Coaches: Ed Dyer (Offensive Line), Mike Pierce (Defensive Coordinator/Secondary), Hiawatha Hickman (Defensive Line), Taran Hebert (Defensive Ends), Justin Trahan (Offensive Line), Russell Bottley (Receivers), DePauldrick Garrett (Running Backs), Phillip Mattingly (Receivers), Terry Joe Ramsey (Quarterbacks), J.J. Jennings (Defensive Line) OFFENSE Five starters return to the Mustang spread offense in 2020. Senior quarterback Jerren "Pop" Terrell (110-189, 1453 yd, 12 TD, 1st team all-district) will again lead the Mustang offense. Joining back in the Mustang backfield will be junior running back Elijah Gales (169 carries, 1389 yd, 24 TD, 1st team all-district). Senior wide receivers Jalen Thompson (17 catches, 319 yd, 4 TD) and Jerrold Brown (9 catches, 143 yd, 1TD) will lead an otherwise young Mustang receiver corp. Junior center Demetrius Hunter (1st team all-district) and lineman Courtney Davis return to lead a line which will feature junior lineman Bryson Jordan, as well as linemen Evan Gary, Cason Barnes, and Jacolby Breed. DEFENSE Seven starters return to the Mustang defense in 2020. Senior defensive end Jalen Thompson (1st team all-district) and junior defensive end Dontrey McClain (2nd team all-district) will hold things down up front along with senior nose guard Floyd Mouton (2nd team all-district) with defensive tackle Carmello Jones also being counted on to contribute in the Mustang 50 set. Senior Tyrone Brown (2nd team TSWA All-State, 10-4A-II Defensive Player of the Year) will line up along with senior Kaiden Berry. Senior safety Jasachin Harris (1st team all-district), safety Jadon Jones and cornerback Artavious Samuel (1st team all-district) will bring plenty of experience to a Mustang secondary which will also include senior Jubar Ross. 8. If Covid dont screw up the season this could be one of BH's best teams. The Senior and Junior class has some very talented young men that i have been lucky enough to watch/coach through thier carears. These two classes just know how to win and i cant wait to see what they do this year. Some may think we are down a QB, but they have a couple of good ones to choose from. Pair that with 2 game changing recievers and a Junior RB that can flat run over or around you and a stout O-line . Defense is going to be a beast lead by a King (Bradley) with most of the line back and solid corners in the secondary while welcoming a new hard hitting LB in Gigout and the D will complement the offense. The BH/Crosby and BH/PNG games are going to be awesome!

  9. Well, some people did dislike him over race and religion. Not all, not even a majority, but some did. I had lunch in a cafe on the square in Newton the day after Obama was elected. People were openly discussing it and it disintegrated into people telling n-word jokes. Openly, back-and-forth, table to table. The kind of “jokes” I hadn’t heard since I was a kid. I didn’t join in, but I didn’t say anything and I didn’t stand up and leave, either. There are a few things in life I’d like a chance to do over, and that’s on the short list. My company matches my contributions with another 25%. That 25%in year one is hard to leave on the table. Schwab handles our accounts and they have tons of options for the employee to choose from in regards to the actual stock and securities. It’s been good to me, lol.

I would think every sport will be played, just most would overlap. Sort of like basketball and baseball does every year. You can also throw soccer, track, and tennis in there too. I believe Texas would just push the start of football out about a month if any. It would coincide with the on-line schooling the TEA has spoke about. I'm just ready for something, because its boring without sports. My son has been playing summer baseball and its like a release for me and my family to actually get out. Stay safe!!

  15. Disagree. Trump has reversed 8 regulations for every new one put in since he took office. REgulations are a huge impediment to businesses and discourage expansion/more employment from those businesses. Also, cutting the corporate tax rate made a substantial difference. While I agree about the cyclicality of the economy, I will also say that government policy cannot change the cyclicality but it can influence the volatility within the cycle. A good example is the FACT that Mr. Obama is the first president NEVER to have a 3% GDP in a single year during his presidency.

  17. Yup. I think a lot Trump votes are just that... Trump votes. They'll be gone when he's no longer on the ticket. Kind like the Obama votes that never turned out for Hillary. The cult of personality is real. You might not argue that Trump about whether or not Trump has been a conservative president, but I will. He's not a conservative personally, politically, or socially. He just got elected by a bunch of conservatives and the hardcore Trump votes. Debt and spending were up before COVID, and now it's off the charts. About the only thing that I can see conservative-ish is the push to rebuild the military. *I though you were close to my age, PamFam. I take back some of the mean things I've said. I ain't mad at you... you're just a kid, lol.

  18. You can almost instantly tell if a person's living is "guaranteed" or not based on their answer to that question of whether or not to stay home. My guess is that if the governor said "we'll start teacher pay back up when in-class school resumes, teachers would instantly lose their objections to returning to class. The sad thing is that most people with "guaranteed" money don't realize that it's only slightly more "guaranteed." When people can't pay their school taxes because we shut down schools "just in case" it's gonna be sad times in teacher land. Other than the bars and sports, all other industries are back in business. Except education. Kids can't go to school, but they can dang sure bag your groceries and fry up your McChicken.

  19. We lose more kids to abortion....where is the humanity s concern.
    1 point
  20. Just curious.... How many kids have died from this disease since it started? [Hidden Content] and CHA - Children and COVID-19 State Data Report 7.9.20 FINAL.pdf As of 7/9.... a grand total of 69 kids in the US have been reported as dying from COVID. Keep in mind that some states are counting people aged 0-24 years as "children." Who knows how accurate that this is. And I agree that "even one life lost is one life too many." But i'm going to go out on a limb and say that we're losing more kids to bicycle crashes and drownings. It's time to get back to school and make adjustments when (because they will happen) outbreaks occur.

  21. It actually says Thou shall not take an innocent life in Hebrew. The Bible is full of examples of capital punishment. Poor argument to compare the death penalty to abortion.

I saw this tweet from a DMN sports writer this morning. It was a quote from UIL AD Dr. Susan Elza yesterday: UIL AD Susan Elza at THSCA Coaching School: "We feel like we're going to have seasons. We're hopeful to have some sort of announcement this week. We're still in an approval process. There is no guarantee that there will be an announcement tomorrow."

  25. I applaud a free thinker. It’s what we all must be or we do become robots. It’s not so much that you think opposite occasionally, it’s that you think opposite every time. The odds are that I, nor you, can be wrong every time. How can we possibly think opposite on everything? I didn’t vote for Obama either....I didn’t vote. Didn’t like McCain...still don’t even though he is gone. Didn’t like Obama because of his left left leaning policies and as it turns out, he divided this country racially. McCain would have been a disaster, Romney too. They are both Rinos. Trump is a conservative and his economic policies have proven successful. The first priority of a president is to protect the American people. I don’t see democrats doing that at all. Next is to keep businesses here thus creating jobs. Trump has done a wonderful doing just that. All that boo hoo my feelings got hurt is for panty-weights and keeps legislators from doing what is important.

  27. Heck California was letting sexual predators out during covid...... And hair salon owners getting arrested. the fact that people try to justify democrats shows how far evil has taken over. i mean the liberal group believe killing babies is ok. YOU SICK INDIVIDUALS If you don’t have a problem with What’s in bold then your heart is evil Liberals paraded a criminal in a glass casket thru town then gave his family an American flag as if he died during combat dishonoring soldiers ...for a flag they want to disrespect. writing is on the wall, wake up!!!!! You don’t have to like trump. Heck I don’t like some things about him..... democrats are not there to help you like you think....they use word play and people fall for it.

  30. I must admit a mistake on this preview (like I haven't had to do it before). I had Easton Walker listed at both tight end and split end. The tight end, as it has been for the last two years, will be senior Logan Bell. My apologies to Logan and Coach Mathews!

  31. Way more kids died from the Flu this past season than the Covid-19, and way more adults have died from Covid-19 in the ages 65 and above and with underlying conditions for the most part. Now the vast (not all) amount of teachers are well under 65 years of age. So in my opinion we just need to open the schools and quit living in fear that some politicians and a lot of the media are shoving down our throats.
