  2. I feel like if we send them to school then there should be football. I guess my opinion is that if it's safe enough for school, then it's safe enough for sports. I hope anyways...

  3. How could it be justified that you are concerned about Covid-19 only during school hours and not during practice, locker rooms, workouts or games?

  4. Never have understood why you HAVE to like someone in order to vote for them for president. Look at policy, not their personality.

  6. Hey, I understand your concern. I’m concerned too. Idk if you have a school aged child. I do. The most awesome, handsome, funny, athletic, perfectly imperfect boy you’ll ever meet. I genuinely feel he would be better served both physically and mentally by going back to the classroom. I respect your views, but many are saying the ostrich approach is not a smart approach. I agree. Good luck to all. Good health and prayers.

  7. And your proof of that is what? He’s been misquoted numerous times by an atheist that interviewed him, but you’re so excited to see the splinter in someone else’s eye, but not see the board in your own eye. [Hidden Content] Do you believe everything someone tells you, or you read on the internet? I found this, but I don’t believe it, do you? [Hidden Content]

  8. No, the UIL has stressed that ALL regulations to be an eligible player (residency, no move for athletic purposes, 15 day rule) are all still in effect.

  9. If.....big if....they rename to The Warriors, what’s the freakin difference? I know no other race of people who refer to their fighters as “warriors”. It’s time for people to mind their own business and shut up.

  12. Good point , kind of ironic while we are dealing with race issues ,I don't think it matters what color Jesus is as long as we make it to heaven. We can not let these things be our demise.

  13. I think this judge should be forced to recuse himself. Judges are not supposed to be interested parties in their cases, and this one has turned himself into the ONLY interested party in this case, as the defense and the prosecution both support dismissing it. And, even after the higher court orders him to dismiss the case he refuses to do so? I hope he gets sanctions.

  14. I don’t know what Jesus looked like, nor anyone else. If I had to guess, he looked more like a Galilean Jew...a middle easterner, but the Bible only says his appearance was non distinct. Instead, it’s probably a good idea to concentrate on His spiritual teachings instead of His appearance; otherwise, they probably would have been more descriptive in the Bible.

  15. Heck, classrooms probably can't socially distance 10-15 kids if the rules are followed. Honestly.

  16. I saw a commercial on tv a couple of weeks ago for the muffler shop that sits on the corner of Gulfway and Memorial in the PAT. Good for them. Good feelings. And at the end comes a screen that says “Support your local black owned business” or something to that effect. You’d get CRUCIFIED for saying “support your local white-owned business.” The idea that “I can do something but if you do the same thing, you’re a bad person” needs to go. That’s the actual fuel that’s stoking the fires of unrest here in 2020. I can say this word. You can’t . I can voice my opinion. You can’t. I deserve this... you don’t. And it’s all based on race. For what it’s worth, I don’t stop at convenience stores that advertise “American owned.” That’s not right, either. That’s an instance of “dog whistle” that I can agree on.

  18. Agreed can’t be 100 percent sure because we weren’t there. Just based off your initial response to my statement I thought I should probably throw some pointers out there so you could understand how I come up with my ideal. I don’t mind being wrong sometimes but I don’t want people thinking I’m completely nutz either lol

I was reading about the judge still not dismissing the Michael Flynn case because Flynn pleaded guilty to lying...twice, and this oldie came to mind: Farmer Angus A farmer named Angus had a car accident. He was hit by a truck owned by the Eversweet Company. In court, the Eversweet Company's hot-shot lawyer was questioning Angus. "Didn't you say to the policeman at the scene of the accident, 'I'm fine'?"asked the lawyer. Angus responded: "Well, I'll tell you what happened. I had just loaded my favorite cow, Bessie, into the..." "I didn't ask for any details", the lawyer interrupted. "Just answer the question. Did you not say, at the scene of the accident, 'I'm fine!'?" Angus said, "Well, I had just got Bessie into the trailer and I was driving down the road...." The lawyer interrupted again and said, "Your Honor, I am trying to establish the fact that, at the scene of the accident, this man told the police on the scene that he was fine. Now several weeks after the accident, he is trying to sue my client. I believe he is a fraud. Please tell him to simply answer the question." By this time, the Judge was fairly interested in Angus' answer and said to the lawyer: "I'd like to hear what he has to say about his favorite cow, Bessie". Angus thanked the Judge and proceeded. "Well as I was saying, I had just loaded Bessie, my favorite cow, into the trailer and was driving her down the road when this huge Eversweet truck and trailer came through a stop sign and hit my trailer right in the side. I was thrown into one ditch and Bessie was thrown into the other. I was hurt, very bad, and didn't want to move. However, I could hear old Bessie moaning and groaning. I knew she was in terrible pain just by her groans. Shortly after the accident, a policeman on a motorbike turned up. He could hear Bessie moaning and groaning so he went over to her. After he looked at her, and saw her condition, he took out his gun and shot her between the eyes. Then the policeman came across the road, gun still in hand, looked at me, and said, 'How are you feeling?' Now just what would you have said"?

  26. Joseph was a slave thousands and thousands of years ago. The Israelites were slaves in Egypt. But that’s nothing compared to the horrors that slaves faced here in the US during that 250 year span. Absolutely no comparison.

  27. “You guys?” Is that a trigger for you, too? I can’t remember exactly, but yesterday you said something along the lines of I was a racist, from a racist town, and had a rally to attend. And everybody from BC, Vidor, and a couple of other towns were all racist. And you repeated the story about the “sundown” sign in Vidor being around in the late 90s. Isn’t it crazy how there’s not a single picture of that sign in existence? Digital cameras existed in the late 90s.... but nobody ever bothered to snap a picture of the danged thing? Crazy, huh? I don’t doubt that such a thing COULD have existed in the 50s or 60s. Definitely not the 90s. But I’ve never even seen a single solitary old black and white picture of it. Not even once. Heard about it a lot, though. And as far as “us” and “y’all,” I had to go back and reread his post to make sure that SETX was in fact black before I wrote what I did. Lastly, people who yell “black lives matter” and scream “all lives matter is racist” probably shouldn’t get to offended by “us” and “y’all.”

No on cares about offending white people so forget him. Some yo-yo from CALIFORNIA started this crap. Probably the same one who was offended by Jap Road. He can take a flying leap.

  32. Do you think there are rational non political tribes who find offense to the mascot in PNG? Do you yourself think it’s offensive in some way? As a community are you ok with it? Not judging in any way I honesty don’t believe The intent was racist. It’s a dominant white school who choose a minority as there mascot. I think it was choosen from respect. Maybe a bit of ignorance . But respect Point is these or questions PNG faithfull and administration will have to answer. I say if you want to keep name show more output to the native people ( show them you respect them. Listen to there concerns and come up with a respectful resolution). I loved watching the PNG when PAM dropped down good fan base good atmosphere. Mascot be straight getting it.

  33. Lol.... Let's not let the fact that 6 million Jews were exterminated in Europe overshadow that the fact that 8 unarmed black people per year are dying at the hands of police here in America. Sounds like somebunny's got a that typical touch of anti-semitism in 'em.

  35. FBI Stats for 2018: 2,426 black/African-American victims of hate crimes in 2018, 920 Jewish victims and 236 Muslim victims. Adjusting for the population size of each group (43.84 million blacks in 2018 according to the Census Bureau and 6.2 million Jews and 3.6 million Muslims based on Pew Research Center data, the hate crime victimization rates in 2018 per 100,000 population of each group were 14.8 for Jews, 6.6 for Muslims and 5.5 for blacks; therefore, adjusted for population by group, American Jews were 2.7 times more likely than blacks to be a victim of a hate crime last year, and more than twice as likely than a Muslim to be a hate crime victim. Im just posting the stats.

  36. That reminds me. I've already heard people making George Floyd jokes here in Silsbee. Was tempted to speak up, but it would have been 3 against 1, and you never know how it would have went down after that. Of course, most of the people like that live just outside the Silsbee city limits. We all know that attitude wouldn't be tolerated in most parts of town.

  37. A challenge to our representation & honoring of our mascot is a direct challenge to the Cherokee nation that made us their representatives. Oh, by the way, the official people of the Cherokee Nation live on a "Reservation", not by their own choice, but they honor their land, people, pride & traditions. Just as the PNG Nation does the same. If you have not been raised within this all encompassing atmosphere & heart that is PNG, there is no way I can express it to you, other than for you to know, that my respect for both the Cherokee Nation, that honored our school, and the students of PNG who carry on that respect for the future generations to come, fills me with a spirit that brings me peace. Change may come, if forced upon us by the government. PNG will always hold onto to the knowledge that we have done everything to uphold our assignment as Ambassadors of Goodwill. Oh, by the way "40" years ago is not so long. I was in high school when that presentation was made. Please do not trash our letter. I hope this explains how I feel, as much as I can explain it personally. Once again, unless you are raised as we were, there is no way for you to grasp the significance of our traditions. May God Bless All of The Schools, Teams & Mascots as we go into this trying time & a new school year. May we work together to see that the children are well educated, good citizens & proud of their schools, communities & traditions.
