  1. ......to socialism.... Get one of your kids to clean the bathroom. When he/she is done, pay them $10. Then take $7 back and give it to the sibling that did nothing. Tell the child that cleaned the bathroom that this is socialism. We will see how he/she grows up.

  2. Lets keep the BH student discussion to a separate thread please, preferably on the locker room board. It has nothing to do with this game thread.

  3. Well we got a few kids with dreads they'll see on Tuesday in our house on their campus. Hopefully we give em a beating so bad they change their policy to reflect no teams allowed that have dreads 😂

  4. Normally there is more than one date set aside for college visits. I know nothing about this young man or which college he chose to visit and I have no right to pass judgment on the individual so everything I say is just a matter of personal opinion. If no school is missed what’s the difference in leaving at 8pm instead of 4pm? I know these dates are posted ahead of time and I certainly don’t blame a young athlete for taking the trip but it sure makes it tough on a small school team playing without them.

  6. I will be attending the Huntington @ Lufkin Hudson game. It will be a challenge for me. They put their full band on the visitor’s side and it’s hard to concentrate much less think. My age is showing. Lol

  7. Just one final thought from Friday nights game that tells me all I needed to know about what type of job Coach Mitchell is doing with the Lumberton program. I attend ALOT of high school basketball games and have over the past 50 years but I was struck by the number of people in the crowd that had no ties to Lumberton or Silsbee basketball. Folks that came because they were curious as to how far the Lumberton program has come. Sometimes relevance is the biggest compliment a Coach can receive and from the looks of the crowd Friday night it looks like Coach Mitchell has made the Raiders relevant again. I can’t wait to see what the second half of the district season holds for all the members of this district.

  8. That's why I was saying Ned third, of course anything can happen, but it's going to be tough to replace your #1 and #2 pitcher along with Hiltz in the lineup. My son told me that Hiltz was the toughest batter he faced all year, and that's saying a lot. Was Marz a senior last year too?

  9. Agreed. Very classy move by the Mavericks organization. I still can't wrap my head around all of this.

  10. [Hidden Content] Some of you guys should look up the report cards of the schools these “shady“ transfers are coming from and and going to. Factor in that HF is open enrollment so you do not have to live in the district to attend the school and it becomes even less surprising that this is happening. I understand that if students do not live in the district zone they must sit out a year or play sub varsity, but in my opinion if you are transferring from a lower preforming school to a higher preforming one then that should be waived, especially if the old school received an F. Sometimes it’s bigger than basketball.

  11. If going 1 - 5 in district is having a bunch of ringers, then yes we have a bunch of ringers. This coach is teaching hard work, perseverance and loyalty to those boys. If he wasn't then they would quit on him and they haven't , so teams aren't getting the easy win . This wouldn't be a problem if it was the same old HF and they were getting beat by 40 or 50 like they have in the past.

  12. Breaking: @dallasmavs and @mcuban announce that in honor of the late #KobeBryant ..'Kobe’s legacy transcends basketball, and our organization has decided that the number 24 will never again be worn by a Dallas Maverick.' They should do this league wide.

  14. Careful. You want to talk about transfers, HF certainly didn’t invent that concept. In fact, several of the juggernauts in this area of feasted on transfers for a long time. Can’t help but think some of the outrage about HF is that they have dipped their fingers in the talent pool that was monopolized by other for some time now. And no, I’m not getting into the particular schools or the particular players. But believe me it’s nothing new in these parts.

  16. Race batted much? Come on guys grow up and smell the roses! BH could give a flying crap what color their students are. These idiot race batters jump on this crap and you jump? These rules were put in place decades ago and you don’t get a pass because of your race. I won’t post on this topic anymore because folks will believe what they want to. Peace.

  17. the ones claiming to be from employees that went viral were not workers in the district, but trolls trying to stir things up.

  18. The HF team only has one true transfer student and he is playing JV so he will be able to play next year. Whoever is giving you info is wrong. The team has 1 senior, 4 juniors and the rest of the team is sophomores. The two newer players live in the district and are 10th graders. Everyone is talking smack about this team because they are wondering how they got so good so fast when the reality is that they finally got a coach that cares about winning and his players. The talent was always there. The kids are just now figuring out they can win and when the coach and the kids figure it out the rest of the district will be really wary of playing HF.

  25. Is the post player still on the team? He was sent to the locker room last week and I wasn’t sure if he’d been removed from the team or not. The LCM coach deserves tons of credit, he has this club at 4-2 at the midway point of the district schedule and I for one didn’t expect that. I enjoy the antics of the shirt nights, it’s getting the spectators involved.

  26. I'm a little surprised at how well Silsbee is doing. I thought most Silsbee fans underestimated how much losing McCain, Adams, and Tyler would affect them, but I underestimated how great Braelon Bush really is. Chris Martin, too. Also, surprised that Lumberton played it this tight, but there are no moral victories. On to the second half. How does it play out? Silsbee-HJ round 2? Who finishes 3rd and 4th? I love high school basketball.
