Don’t be afraid to look bad. Never stopped me I predicted the last Silsbee class (while they are in jr high) would lose no more than 3 district games in 4 years and even with a big asterisk on one, they didn’t. I will predict this series will split this year; we will see. Regardless, I think we will see a more evenly balanced rivalry this year. I will also go out on a limb and say if any Silsbee class beats the four year results of the one that graduated last year, they haven’t been born yet.

And I will say I have to self-monitor at times when I’m critical of some of his statements. I’ve found that in every day life, I enjoy being around people with no filter. Like with the President, I don’t always agree with them and often don’t. But at least I know where they stand. I greatly prefer that to someone who tells you one thing and then goes and does the opposite. Point being, his bluntness is so rare in politics that it was almost shocking. So even if don’t agree with the message, the transparency of it should at least be encouraged, if not celebrated.

I agree with you , but I think that's one of the things that I like the most about President Trump. I love the fact that he doesn't act like a politician. I like that he says exactly whats on his mind. It's such a radical change from the lying, backstabbing, only do whats going to help me, screw America, life long politicians that we are used to.

It’s nice to have a little equity in this matchup for the first time in several years, but the downside to that is that for the time in a long time southeast Texas doesn’t have a team in 4A with a realistic shot of winning state. I hate that 4A has become filled with “small” schools from big cities with huge player pools. It makes the 4 year run Silsbee put together even more impressive, but it also means that small town 4A State titles are quickly going to become a thing of the past. Maybe this next crop of Silsbee kids will live up to the hype, but it feels like we’re approaching a time where you could combine HJ and Silsbee’s player pools and they’d still struggle to get past all of the 4A schools from Houston and Dallas that have hundreds, if not thousands, of players to choose from that are just a transfer away.

Every time I hear some crazy BS one of those candidates come up with, I think that no one can top that in terms of lunacy. Until someone else does. I can’t figure out who is advising these people and telling them it’s a good idea to put some of this stuff out there. I can’t imagine any of it goes over well in the so-called battleground states. If I was Trump, I wouldn’t say anything and just have a monitor and a clicker and play one asinine video after another.

I have been a long time fan of Dayton, but I must say this is recipe for disaster. The former coach that completely ran the program into the ground was retained as AD. So Dayton is gonna hire a HC for FB whose boss will be the guy who destroyed that same FB program? Yikes... I hope the program starts turning back around, just not sure this dynamic is going to work.

If Bmt. United wants to move towards the modern era of FB with an explosive Offense, they should hire Brandon Craus. When he left Dayton as OC like 7 years ago, they were a very good Offense that scored well over 30+ pts every game. Then he left and went up to Groveton as AD/HC and in less than 1 year turned that program around and went on an Offensive Explosion there too. I believe he ended up sending like 3 kids from a 2A school into college to play. I would love to see him at a school where he has lots of athletes to choose from and great facilities.

I believe these two teams are pretty equal. Each team has a strength over the other. Both are well coached. I will not be surprised with a win be either team. Only thing that will surprise me is a team winning by more than 15. I have to give Silsbee the slight edge because of one thing. A player named Bush.

This wasn't an upset IMO. BH isn't the BH of last season. Regardless though great win for Png. From what im told from ppl who attend their games they're better this season. Now if they sneak Ned in the Dog Dome that'll be the upset.

That takes effort, and then you have to scroll through all these different schedules.

You guys do realize that both teams schedules are posted here in this forum. Instead of "guessing" who played who and who won, scroll to the top of the basketball forum and actually look at the pinned yearly schedule thread.

If you don't want to do all the scrolling, is suggest using the 'find' option on your browser. It's a search option in a page that lets you enter the key words, which in this case is your team. You can quickly get to what your looking for without scrolling. But these guys out in a lot of work to have this information accessible and I doubt that there would be a link for it in the near future.

As far as the dunk count goes, believe it or not, Jordan Edwards can dunk. He's just an inch taller than Braylon. Seen it with my own eyes. Not sure he can pull it off in a game or not. It would probably have to be on a put back or something similar. Whoever number 40 is for Silsbee can also dunk. Still don't know exactly who everyone is on this team yet. Him or Cartwright are probably our best bets.

Even if this incoming team stays together and lives up to its hype,that is a pretty strong limb.

And magnet schools and charter schools. How about this. Force charters and magnets to compete at or above 5A. They can have as many kids as they want but they aren't permitted to compete below 5A. Hows that for a rule change? Give the small schools a shot. Of course if you'd given Liberty Hill any more of a shot they'd be the reigning state champs.

This is very true. A complete game changing talent, that has been corrupted by the hype. He needs to get away from all the idiots and entourage whispering poison into his ear and get help from people that want the best for him. He's still a kid and I hope he starts heading down the right track to help him get back on path for his future. I hope the best for him.

Anybody who says Pat Abel's teams weren't fundamental or well coached is clueless. They were almost too disciplined and fundamental whereas Chris Smith lets them play with some freedom. Two different philosophies, but neither is wrong. Saying all of that to say this...huge win for the Indians!

quick about what? I watched PN play NED. They are much better coached than what they were before. Is that what you are arguing? Does PN have a lot of talent NO but they are doing the fundamental things correct which makes them competitive. Heck before this year PN could not beak a press. There is a night and day difference in PN basketball from last year to this year.

Well, to be fair the databases I researched only go back to '88. There may be more titles. But according to what I saw the Lady Lions' 1989 title is the most recent and the only one I saw out of of SETX from 1988-2019.
