They were good then with Hughes and Seralies. They were 4A stacked but not 6a stacked like this year.

Yates was fairly down the first year Silsbee beat them. They ain't always that stacked.

Hopefully this is the case ? Dayton has gone 1 and 23 the last two yrs. Nations and staff doesn't deserve or has earned an AD job the only avenue for future success is a complete house cleaning from top to bottom anything short of that will be a disaster. Dayton has a little political click that has run the football and other sports in the ground included is the school board and superintend . ( pathetic ) The only coach that had the potential to take over the HC job just got fired by nations I heard. ( imagine that ) not part of the loosing mentality click.

You think it’s bad in Houston? The best player (Arguably) on last year’s 6A State Champion Duncanville was at his 3rd school when he enrolled at Dville....FOR THAT SCHOOL YEAR! Family faith basically transplanted a whole team and coaching staff to their school. The reason the metroplex dominates San Antonio isn’t just because their players are tougher. If Yates has all their players cleared, they could end up being the best team in the state, regardless of classification.

Don’t know of any formation that is illegal to throw out of, to the best of my knowledge every formation has to have seven men on line of scrimmage and four off the line with everybody off the line eligible plus the last one on each end of the line being eligible. That is how you get a tackle eligible by not having anyone on the line outside of him and tell the ref.

I guess you always have to look at the bright side. When you have only won 5 district games in the last 5 years "chances" are really all you have to look forward to on Friday nights. Don't worry though, we'll but up there at the next alignment wearing y'all out with transfers from your own school.

No they don't. They have run 472 offensive plays so far this season. 270 rushes, 202 pass attempts. That's 43% passing plays.

Newton's own radio announcers have been predicting the plays right before the ball is snapped all year and I don't remember them ever being wrong.

HF had 4 Juniors, 5 sophomores, and 1 freshman last night. Only a couple have ever played a varsity game. New Coach with new offense/defense. Missing several varsity players that are still in football. My point to all this is they were young, inexperienced and excited and made good adjustments at halftime. Kountze has a couple of great players and pushed HF hard!!! Looking forward to many more wins from this HF group.

If Jasper keeps getting all of those penalties then this game will be much closer than it should be. Athletically Jasper is better. I am not sure how disciplined they are though. At the beginning of the year I had Jasper playing for the state championship but I am not sure anymore. It is week 12 and they are still making mistakes and getting dumb penalties. At some point they have got to figure out that they are better than most teams in the state and just play football without all the extra stuff. I do think Bellville will keep it very interesting. I will be attending this one if the weather holds off. I have Jasper by 1 td

One thing I’m proud of is in the past y’all know Lumberton would go into this game knowing they were gonna lose. It’s the loser mentality of this town. And I’m sure for the most part the community still thinks that way. But I can guarantee that Coach Babin, along with his staff, have built this program up to have a winner’s mentality. They are preparing to go win, they are gonna be confident going in. At the end of the day for a High school football coach, it’s not always about winning championships because most coaches will never do that. It’s about preparing young men for life. And sometimes life ain’t fair, and other times in life you lose because you were simply outmatched. If we go into this game confident, executing the plan, and leave it all on the field but get beat because Carthage is just a better team, then I don’t think there is anything negative that can be said about our players or our coaching staff. But on the other hand, if we pull off the upset, these kids will remember this for the rest of their lives. I just watched a YouTube video of highlights from when we beat Lamarque and i still get chills watching that. And I wasn’t even on the team, I was a freshmen. That’s what HS football is all about right there!

I think Lum needs to take as long as they possibly can to score on every single drive... Just wind the clock and protect the ball. That’s really all that they have to do. And pray. Pray a lot.
