This is an interesting game. i am sure a certain Crosby fan has it logistically, statistically, and psychologically figured it out. He may even know which guy has atmospheric speed which is better than anything WO-S has.

Surely some ppl hating on w.o be on display like no other team. Me personally go for all setx. But at the same time some ppl get on here and just look at scores.like 28-7.really !! Imo, turf for the football players is NOT at the top of the priority list in Silsbee so I don't see that happening real soon. Now if the baseball team wanted turf, weeeeell. And I agree. Lara is a load.

It is laughable how the Briles apologists love to turn a blind eye to everything. He got in trouble for steroids at Stephenville. Rape at Baylor and now transfer issues at Mt. Vernon. All coincidence I am sure. Freaking Baylor sheep. There is a reason no college team would let him on the staff and he had to go to Italy to coach.

Based on what they lost (players and coaches) Newton has been the most impressive team I have seen this year. United would be my 2nd choice.

Due to rains and field conditions, Silsbee Tigers home football game against Bridge City scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19 has moved to Lumberton Raider Stadium. Kickoff remains the same at 7:30 p.m.

But I've said it weeks back. Newton,west orange,west brook will be playing in December. And now even more I'll be pulling for united. Sure w.o has things to work on.especially offense.but that will come with game experience.and bcz of the jasper/silsbee losses last year they way they loss.really made me look at defensive side of the ball.our kids had to grow up and in a hurry.everyone best football is ahead of them.as the year goes on we will see some gud football.

If Livingston could only score 14 against Orangefield (14-20) and 7 against Liberty (7-49), I certainly cannot see them scoring 28 against Jasper.

People saying this district is weak this year. Let's be honest, it's been under whelming for a while. When it was two districts, we beat up on each other first round and most pumped their chest until the second round exit. There have been a few exceptions of 3rd and 4th round teams, but for the most part for 5a, we're pretty weak in this area. Roschon sparked PNG to have a couple of deeper runs, but other then that take last year for example. PAT, KWP, and Porter lost 1st round, New Caney lost second round. Our district went like this, Ned lost second round giving up 63 points, Barbers Hill lost 1st round giving up 62 points, PNG lost 3rd round giving up 53 points, and Santa Fe lost 1st round giving 53 points. Let's just say we've all been down for a while consistently. We can stop saying the district is weak THIS year. My .02

What is sick is a high school hiring a man to work around young girls after what he allowed at Baylor. What is even more sick is that some people champion him on this site. Why listen to the game? According to a Crosby poster they will not lose another game. Against WO-S they will throw deep and if caught it's six. WO-S will not be able to handle that Crosby o-line firing off 40-50 times on running plays. Without trick plays and a bunch of Crosby penalties scoring will be rare for WOS. If not for a dropped snap the Manvel game would have been different. They should run the table in district. How did the pollsters and experts overlook these folks. I gotta go to this game now so I can tell my grandkids one day---I was there, I saw 'em.

I thought Foster had a very good game, particularly in taking care of the football. One of the reasons why we chose him as player of the game. But I put emphasis on him taking care of the ball because he had 4 turnovers in first two games and that may be the reason some wanted to see Briscoe get some reps. I think Foster should be the starter. Just would like to see Briscoe get some time. Oh, and our tackling improved a little, but still not very good.

At one point in the late 80's early 90's there were 4 guys from Daingerfield simultaneously playing in the NFL. Thomas Everett, Eric Everett, Dave Whitmore, and David Mims. Think about that; 4 guys from a town of 2,000 playing in the NFL at once.

I certainly won't argue against any of the teams on this list, all are very deserving. I do think one team that has been overlooked over the years is Houston Stratford team of 1978. They outscored their opponents 532-149 (15 game season), held 9 of their 15 opponents to a touchdown or less (with most of their first team on the sidelines in the fourth quarter when the game was out of hand). In an era when only one team per district made the playoffs, 7 of their 15 wins were against district champions. Defeated 1975 state champion and 1977 state finalist Port Neches Groves in the regular season opener on the road, defeated 1976 state champ SA Churchill in the semi-finals, defeated 1977 state champ Plano in the finals, and defeated 1979 state finalist Houston Memorial in district play. Running back Craig James rushed for 2411 yards (a then Class 5A record), had two other backs rush for over 800 yards and quarterback Mark Gabrisch passed for over 1000 yards. Offense racked up over 7000 yards total that year. James appeared in a super bowl with the Patriots, and lineman Chuck Thomas appeared in two super bowls with the 49'ers. Overall this was a very solid "team" that I feel deserves to be considered for one of the greatest of all time.
