Well i guess I can say it in a different way about the QB spot. He's a very athletic kid with tons of upside and he has the opportunity of working with AB all day everyday. He's one of the best QB coaches in this area for sure so with that being said he will have no choice but to get better. Secondly, you cant teach speed. The kid ran a sub 4.3 this summer at the Under Armour Camp, and as you can see BU's rival went to the State Finals and they were led by a talented QB. I'm not saying he's WB's last year QB but i am saying he has the potential. He's lacking game experience but he's getting more and more comfortable as each game passes. Hes the perfect RPO QB that everyone is looking for, believe me: he will get a D1 offer at QB!!!!!

Not at all, just know the team is playing good ball. My scouting report is that yall get down early and your QB play is not going well at the moment so that to me means a blow out. I just don't agree with PAM offense being better than BU according to some of the people on the tale of the tape!!! I feel we have the best QB in the area because hes is the best ATH. We all know what a athletic QB can do!!!! # best RB's in the area and one of the best WR. WB has two great WR's but I put him in the same conservation as well. All District TE and a seasoned OL. Do not think PAM offense is better than BU's and the real key is that youngster along with his Run and Pass coordinators are making it happen!!! just my opinion

We gotta remember that teams are rarely as good or as bad as their last game. It’s a proven fact. Ned was awful against United, point blank. Worst game I have seen is play in years. With that being said, BU was a much better football team than us and I’m not sure it would have mattered. Ned looked good against WO-S and could have won that game. Lost it due to special teams. Home field. 0-2 record. Motivation to play well and clean things up before district starts. I think we get a good effort from the Dogs this week and the depth should wear out a good solid Silsbee team in the 4th quarter.

Silsbee has and excellent football team. They have great athletes and will go deep in the playoffs, imo. Everyone needs to support these kids and they will rebound. Coming from and Eagle fan. I'm 100% a Newton fan but I know a good team when I see one. This game really doesn't matter. It should be used as a teaching tool. Disrict play is the only thing that matters.

Some people think I’m a trader... think I hate my team...by far all false. I REFUSE to get aboard the hype train about a team that is NO WHERE NEAR as good as ADVERTISED. Again, PAM imo have the best WR’s in the area, not just one or two like on other teams, but a true “posse”. One of the best in between the tackles rb in Cheney with an okay back up... a back kicker that looks good... after that it’s smoke and mirrors and HYPE. Never thought I’d see the day I kinda miss ol Xbox... maybe he saw down the line what was coming or lack of??? Not picking on a kid, cause people around here get but hurt when I criticize a position. He just don’t have it this year. Maybe his junior or senior year after he get some height or experience, he will be better. Problem is will he have the weapons by then??? I feel our fan base won’t accept the obvious that we are rebuilding and might be for awhile. Depending on the realignment, it might be rough for PAM

I don’t know why Coach O would lie about the locker room issue. I haven’t read or heard Holtz comment about it but if he did indeed say it was the case that weekend, I don’t think anyone would doubt it because Skip, through Trey, is part of the family. I also can’t imagine that would be intentional with LA Tech given the Holtz family’s support of the University. I do think Coach O (who I’ve always thought to be a good guy) was less than genuine about the “cramps” issue. As WGL pointed out, didn’t happen with a single Tiger offensive player. Short of LSU having separate conditioning programs for the different units, that alone is hard to believe. But I’m not even that bent out of shape about the “flopping” either. Although I’m not a fan of the tactic in any sport, if the Tigers were doing it intentionally to counteract the speed of the UT’s no huddle offense, they wouldn’t be the first team to employ that tactic in the sport. And it’s not technically against the rules. But if more teams start doing this, I can’t imagine there won’t be some punitive repercussion inserted in the rules soon. And again, as with WGL’s experience, I didn’t have a single encounter with an LSU fan that wasn’t entirely positive. To the contrary, they were fantastic. Much respect to them. As for the band, fan’s seats, etc, I couldn’t care less. There were plenty who shelled out enough to get a good seat, there were several in our section. Give UT the same allotment next year, in the worst section you can provide. There will plenty of us sitting in LSU donor seats anyway, just like the Tiger fans who opened their wallets this year. Despite what any school wants to claim about their fan base, there will always be those who are willing to sell their tickets to one game and use the money to pay for the rest of the games for that season (and who can blame anyone who wants to do that). It’s been that way forever.

Top story of the day: Full moon seen over southeast Texas. I just posted on another thread about what you suggested about a drop off. After watching the Video of Newton and Silsbee, I am very impressed with the ability of Nate Williams to run this offense. I truly do believe he will compensate for any drop off. I believe he can be as effective if not more than what Josh Foster was. He throws better on the run, and can hurt you with his running. He's not the athlete Josh is, but he can dang sure run this offense. I saw a very good passing game against good competition.

I had WOS picked before the season. I'd call it a 50/50 with a lean towards Newton at this point.

Man coach, as long as Crosby doesn’t drop the ball I don’t think they lose to WOS. They have two weeks to prepare and WOS will be coming off a physical road game with Newton themselves. Crosby has see their two most athletically/physically imposing opponents on their schedule. I’m a believer in the higher the classification, the more important role the line of scrimmage plays. Crosby ran the ball for over 300 yards on Manvel and averaged over 7.5ypc, that’s especially impressive considering sacks are factored into your rushing yards in high school. We can’t consistently throw the ball but nobody has really covered the receivers either yet. Offensively I think Crosby is going to be able to control the line of scrimmage once district play starts and pretty much run the ball on anybody. I think we execute poorly right now because the kids in key roles are young, plus they’re learning a new offense. No doubt three or four games from now they’ll be a completely different team. There’s nothing you’ve seen happen in the district so far except Lee destroying people that makes you say, “Dang, they’re good.” Even with no real qb and the team being a little light on discipline IMO, I don’t see why they can’t win the district playing this style ball. Crosby also has what should be the most favorable schedule in the district, outside of one trip to PNG I really don’t see a game I wouldn’t favor Crosby in. Depending on if Lee beats them first I might even change that.

I knew last year when the schedule came out with WOS, United, and Silsbee the chance the dogs go 0-3 was there... last year we did what most people didn’t think would happen and go 3-0, just like most of y’all I was shocked that we did it. But boy was I happy. Lol. If our o line doesn’t gel and open holes this week could be another L... if they do I believe we will win. That’s the biggest glaring downfall for Nederland. Our strength is at our running back position but if no holes and blocking upfront then it kinda defeats its purpose.. we will see come Friday night. How much smaller is Silsbee d line compared to United’s d line Soulja? United was big very big with high motors... I don’t think we will see another line like that for a good while and hopefully our o line grew from that game.

I can make you a 100% guarantee about one thing, there isn't anything that is said in this forum that is going to change the outcome of this game and the scoreboard has the final say. Let's not get mad at each other because we both believe in our teams. May we have a great game that provides us some entertainment and everybody stays healthy. This game is not going to determine who goes onto AT&T win or lose, that is up to our teams by winning the games necessary to accomplish this goal. May god bless all. I thought I sent you home yesterday. You got issues. WO-S only goes to the region finals instead of the state championship and are now not what they used to be. Problem is this year Newton isn't either and you can't handle it. And nobody else on these boards has ever walked it or been part of it but you. I'm guessing you played at one time, when I don't know but it had to be before no-pass--no-play. Looking for a good game from two good teams.

UPDATE: Update on injured Kirbyville football player. According to an administrator the player was diagnosed with spinal cord shock. No vertebrae damage or significant spinal cord damage, he has regained sensation in his extremities but has not regained full motor control yet.

Ned has plenty of room for improvement.... Gotta quit with the turnovers...
