  1. Some folks have known but I will make it public. My time as a full time administrator/broadcaster is up. I told my wife of 33 years that when she retired from teaching that I would retire with her to the beach. She retired last May and I told her I would finish out the football and basketball seasons of this year then I would join her. (would have joined her in May but needed to stay on after the passing of our beloved admin WOSGrad). I am so ready to be a beach bum. I have enjoyed these past 17 years here on the site. I have seen it grow from just a little message board to now be considered a valuable media outlet. It truly has been a labor of love. First of all, I want to thank Jordan Wilson, the owner of this site, by inviting me on as a staff member and eventually an administrator. He trusted me with the help of running this site and allowed me to "do my thang" and start my broadcast career. It has truly been a blessing. Thanks I want to thank Todd Broussard (WOSGrad) who is looking down on us from heaven. He has been my partner in crime for all these years and is the reason this site is what it is today. He was the man!! I dearly miss my old friend and I hope that he is up there saying "job well done my friend". Thanks Todd for everything you did for me and this site. I want to thank all the staff members here. Particularly Lucas, Mack, Robert, Terry, Matthew and all of the other staff. You have helped make this the place to be as for Southeast Texas sports. Thanks for all the support over the years. Thanks to all the coaches that I have come to know and work with all these years. Thank you for your support and cooperation and your acceptance of me and SETXsports. I am truly grateful. Thanks to all the members here who really are what makes this site so great. I have become friends with several here and I cherish all the times we have spent on and off this site. God Bless all of you. I wish all and this site the very best. I will still be around some but it will be mostly from my chair on the beach with my toes in the sand holding a cold one. Thanks again to everyone and May God Bless.

  3. As we start the 2020-2021 season with our football and volleyball players taking to the field and the court tomorrow, we need to realize what we have been given. We have been given a gift......a gift to play, coach, and follow high school football and volleyball. While some might think it should be a given, other states have shown, whether you agree or not, that it is not. By the dialogue on here, that gift is a very precious one, but is also a very fragile one. A gift that can be destroyed by a single misstep by a player, coach, staff member, member of the player's family or even friends or fellow students. We ALL know the protocols...not all of them are pleasant...many don't agree with them. But if we do not follow them and destroy this gift we have no one to blame but ourselves...no politicians, no doctors, no nothing, just ourselves. I may be the eternal optimist, but I believe in these kids, these coaches and these communities to do what is needed to guide this precious gift along. Some don't agree with that either, but I have seen some pretty serious sacrifices made to allow this gift to proceed in the past. Let us root that they will be able to do so this year as well. And let us all pray for our boys and girls, our coaches, teachers and administrators as they lead us long this treacherous path that is the 2020-21 school year.

  4. I wanna say thanks to all of u. Damon was my best friend. Just know my friend had a long hard fought battle with things nobody knew about. Not sure if I can/will continue to follow local football anymore. He and I been doing this since 94. It won’t be the same without him sitting with me in the stands... RIP D... rest easy my friend

  7. I want to share a story from last year. After the game, my folks and I went to the Whiskey Cake in Katy for a very late dinner. I had driven in from Leander that afternoon and they had left PN-G late due to work. Nobody’d had the time to eat beforehand. There was a family in the restaurant from Liberty Hill sitting a few tables down from us. They had a little girl with them, maybe seven or eight years old, and an older boy who appeared to be late middle school or early high school age. I figured he was a player on the freshman team. That little girl realized we were from PN-G and gave us the evil eye for the entire dinner. I’m talking a full hour of this girl glaring at us from across the dining area, non-stop. You could feel the heat coming off this girl’s gaze. I had to fight not to crack up all night because every time I’d look over to my left, I had the possessed girl’s hellish stare from the exorcism movie looking straight back at me. You could tell the PN-G crowd, the War Chant and Cherokee had driven this poor girl insane that night. Her parents picked up on what was going on and came over to talk to us after they finished their meal. Couldn’t have been nicer folks. Wished us luck in the championship, complimented the fan base - just nice, small town people. I told them I lived just down the road in Leander and drove in for the game. Even for a fan base like Liberty Hill’s that generally travels well, you could tell they were shocked that out-of-town alumni would make a drive like that to see the Indians play. This is the game where our fan base earned the “rabid” label online last year. Every time I think about that, I think about that ferocious glare from that little girl. I have a feeling I’m gonna feel it coming across the field at me again this year. Scalp ‘em!

    WOS school board

Were you at the meetings when WOS had a C rating in 2019 (no ratings the last two years with COVID), but had a better football team? Or is the B they got in 2022 only a problem because the football team is struggling? Honest question. Because if you ask me, bringing their academic rating up from a C to a B despite the challenges of learning through COVID is quite an accomplishment, and should be celebrated.

  9. Nick Saban's not for sale. Texas learned that lesson the hard way. These rumors of Coach Fairlcoth's possible departure are disturbing. The kind of disturbing that lures a long-dormant messageboard user out of hibernation the same night his college alma mater wins a conference title over the #1 team in the country. I know very little regarding Coach Faircloth's future at PN-G from firsthand knowledge. Generally, I avoid spreading rumors when I don't know the information to be accurate from firsthand knowledge, and on the occasions when I think it's necessary to discuss those rumors, I always make certain to note that I can't speak to their actual veracity. This is one of those occasions. Simply put, I have no idea whether it's true that Coach Faircloth's position at PN-G is in jeopardy. Here's what I do know. I first heard word that Coach Faircloth's tenure at PN-G may be at risk six weeks ago. I've heard several different iterations of that rumor in the weeks since. I trust, and deeply respect, many of the sources that have brought these rumors to my attention, but in each case, those sources have only been able to provide me with information on a secondhand basis. What little direct evidence I've been able to glean for myself has, if anything, contradicted rumors of Faircloth's impending departure, or at least rumors that the school board has chosen not to renew his contract. For these reasons, and in light of a highly successful 2021 football season that saw the Indians exceed all expectation, I've been highly skeptical of these rumors, and have deliberately chosen only to discuss them when someone else brings them up. I remain skeptical of these rumors now, though I'll admit to some concern in the face of their apparent durability and, now, their growing prevalence among PN-G fans. Brandon Faircloth has been the best head football coach and athletic director PN-G has had in at least 40 years. That is not a statement I make lightly; the evidence is overwhelming. PN-G's all-time win ratio on the football field is .610. Coach Faircloth's win ratio at PN-G is .667, the best of any PN-G coach since Danny Malone. The Indians currently have an active playoff streak stretching back nine consecutive appearances, an all-time school record. The Indians have gone three rounds deep in the playoffs four of the last six seasons, the most consistent streak of deep playoff runs PN-G has had since Doug Ethridge's tenure at PN-G in the 1970s. Coach Faircloth has both more wins and more playoff appearances to his name than any football coach in PN-G history. Statistically speaking, the indisputable best quarterback in PN-G history, several runners-up at the quarterback position, the indisputable best receiver in PN-G history, several runners-up at that position, two of the best runningbacks in PN-G history, and perhaps the best kicker in PN-G history have all been coached by Brandon Faircloth. The best offenses to ever play for PN-G have been coached by Brandon Faircloth, and one of the best defenses in school history was coached by him as well. Coach Faircloth has fielded one of the only four PN-G players in school history to earn All-American honors. He's coached a school record 39 players to achieve All-State honors - fifteen more than Coach Ethridge. Dozens of PN-G players have simultaneously earned academic honors. Coach Faircloth has sent more football players on to play college ball than any coach in PN-G history. Roschon Johnson, Blake Bost, Adam Morse, Tate Sandell - the list goes on. You can verify all of these statistics and all of these facts on our outstanding fan-made website, www.pngindians.com. The lone accomplishment claimed by other PN-G coaches that has eluded Coach Faircloth as a head coach is a state championship appearance. No Golden Triangle team in the same classification as PN-G (4A prior to 2014, 5A since then) has made a state championship appearance since West Orange-Stark in 2000. Take this from a die-hard PN-G native turned reluctant Austin-area resident: the amount of wealth, funding, resources and talent concentrated in suburban Texas football programs far and away exceeds anything small town schools like PN-G are able to amass, and even exceeds what PN-G was able to pull together in the days before Robin Hood. Given the amount of money he threw into Highland Park's program, there's an argument to be made that Jerry Jones effectively bought his grandson a state championship. Schools like Westlake, Lake Travis, Cedar Park, Austin Vandegrift, Euless Trinity, Southlake Carroll, Aledo and Katy Cinco Ranch have backing from dozens of multi-millionaires, professional players, coaches and trainers alike, and in some cases, literal billionaires. This was not the case in the 1950s, the 1970s or the 1990s. The reason that you see programs like Crosby and Barbers Hill on the rise is because they're rapidly becoming suburban programs with that kind of cash on hand. The days of the upper level classifications in Texas high school football (i.e., the 6A and 5A divisions) being dominated by rural schools like PN-G, Odessa Permian, Tyler Lee, Waco Midway and the like are, at least for the moment, gone. The fact that Coach Faircloth has managed to keep PN-G competitive despite our area's relative disadvantage is a testament to his coaching prowess in and of itself. Moreover, Coach Faircloth's accomplishments are not limited to his coaching on the football field. As athletic director, it was Brandon Faircloth who made the brilliant decision to hire Coach Carter as head baseball coach. Coach Carter brought PN-G its first state title in baseball just four years ago. If I'm not mistaken, that also constituted PN-G's first state title in any sport since Coach Comeaux's last state championship run with the Rock-a-Noos in 1989. In the Faircloth era, both the boys' and girls' soccer teams have repeatedly made deep playoff runs, ending several seasons on the cusp of the state tournament. Our basketball teams, consistently PN-G's least successful athletic programs, have found their way to the playoffs. Our success in track and field has improved tremendously. To put it succinctly, the last time PN-G experienced the level of athletic success across the board that it has had with Brandon Faircloth in the fieldhouse, I wasn't born yet. I know and respect several members of the PN-GISD administration and school board; in truth, my skepticism of these rumors is partly based on my faith in their ability to exercise good judgment. I went to school with Jake Lefort's son and Dallon James's younger sisters. I've shared lunch with Lana Parker. Scott Ryan was my assistant principal in middle school. I went to church with Jon Deckert and his family for several years. Julie Gauthier has been a workhorse for both PN-GISD and the City of Port Neches, and the fruits of her labors are demonstrable. I have been very pleased with their leadership the last several years. The PN-G community is two years or less away from all new elementary schools in the district, only ten years after replacing both middle schools and the stadium, and completely renovating the high school. In my opinion, PN-GISD made the best decisions of any school district in the state with respect to its COVID response, and navigated all the controversies of 2020 as best as anyone could expect. From cybersecurity breaches to explosions to hurricanes to freezes, the district's leadership has repeatedly shown its ability to maintain a high quality of education despite substantially greater adversity than anything the rest of the state has had to contend with. The district is in good fiscal shape, and has shown sustained success in non-athletic extracurricular pursuits, including the band, which is obviously of particular significance to me. The district also secured excellent ratings in all the state's academic metrics prior to COVID, and has consistently been rated one of the best school districts in the state in independent studies conducted by third party entities. Personally, I take immense pride in the fact that PN-GISD actually outscored Austin's best local school district by a point in the state's scoring system in 2019. There's no doubt in my mind PN-G continues to offer the best public education you can find anywhere in this state east of IH-45. Speaking from personal experience, Austin's policy circles are familiar with the district's strong reputation. But if my skepticism of these rumors is misplaced, and if it is in fact the case that in spite of Coach Faircloth's clear, undeniable accolades and accomplishments, either PN-GISD will decline to renew Coach Faircloth's contract, or Coach Faircloth will voluntarily leave PN-GISD under pressure from the school board or administration, it will be the first time in several years that I've had good reason to reconsider the faith I have in the party or parties responsible for his departure. Forcing Coach Faircloth's ouster, whether directly or through indirect means, would reflect a severe error in judgment which would have consequences for PN-G students for generations to come - a mistake even worse than running off Danny Malone, which will likely result in similar or worse consequences, and the same lingering shame and regret. To say nothing of losing Coach Faircloth's demonstrated ability to develop successful PN-G athletes and programming, it would also clearly signal to any potential replacement that a three round playoff run capping off thirteen years of unquestionably and consistently successful leadership is not enough to satisfy the powers that be at PN-G, or worse yet, to overcome local political grudges. Ending Coach Faircloth's tenure prematurely would be a grave disservice to the PN-G community and, more importantly, its kids. I have no doubt whatsoever that I am not the only member of the PN-G community who feels this way. For PN-G's sake, here's hoping these rumors are nothing more than idle gossip. Scalp 'em, Indians.

    THE UIL IS WATCHING

The moral of this story.....if you are fortunate enough to go to a game this weekend.......SPREAD OUT AND WEAR A DAMNED MASK!!! I know that there are many who think that this is being overblown and this is some vast government conspiracy to scare us into compliance. I don't care.....SPREAD OUT AND WEAR A DAMNED MASK!!! There are some who say that these rules don't consider the current science. I don't care.....SPREAD OUT AND WEAR A DAMNED MASK!!! I know that there are many who don't like masks because they are uncomfortable! I don't care......SPREAD OUT AND WEAR A DAMNED MASK!!! I can tell you that there are a number of UIL rules that many coaches don't agree with, they comply with them anyway because they know that they will face consequences if they don't. If the UIL is pushed to closing down sports, they will blame those of us who didn't comply with their guidelines. It won't be right....it may not even be true...but it will be what they do. Look, I am slated to broadcast the Lumberton/Coldspring game on Friday night. I plan on wearing a mask all throughout so I apologize in advance. If I can wear it for 3 hours, so can you.

  14. I have tried to explain a million times. It’s not arrogance, cockiness, or disrespect. It’s simply SWAG. I started out my school days on an election year. The teachers gave us a choice to be republican, democrat, or independent. I chose Independent simply because it allowed me to wear an I on my shirt all day, of course it was crayoned purple. It’s said we are taught Cherokee day 1. That’s actually a myth, we all knew it by heart before the alphabet. Most will never understand, I have even heard of us being called the “The Purple Cult”… once again, it’s just misunderstood. Ironically, our rivals understand it the best. That’s why you see all of mid county supporting our games. I grew up in the 80s, hearing about the 70s, in a time we were led by a great guy, just not a good coach. That all changed in 89. In came Danny Malone. And he brought that SWAG back, Burnett carried it on, Fairclothe carried the torch, now Joseph continues the tradition. So what started out as playing football at recess, dreaming of being an Indian, ends with a shot at a SC this Friday. We are no longer a powerhouse, we are not a place people want to move or transfer to, we are just PNG Indians. Not the biggest, fastest, or strongest. Just a team playing with heart and support. These kids are dogs, they come to play and don’t quit. Always the underdog, yet playing week 16. A proud community, wanting a SC and that attendance record back. So for all of you who don’t understand us, we don’t expect you too. But we will say this, come be part of the family Friday night. You won’t regret the experience. A big joke on this board is ATMOSPHERE…. Come be part of it Friday, and make history. You won’t regret it. No matter what team or color you represent or bleed, we are one big ole family this Friday. Peace…. love…..

  16. I want to apologize for the delay in getting scoreboard and game threads updated this week. WOSGrad did most of the updating of the scores. That job now is on me and my wife. We were not able to attend those duties due to our son getting married this weekend. We hosted the rehearsal dinner Friday night and the wedding was Saturday evening, all down here at the beach. We were very busy to say the least. I am just now getting the scoreboard updated. Will attend to the game threads and pickems later today or tomorrow. I apologize for this inconvenience. We are doing the best we can to try to fill those big shoes Grad left us. Please be patient with us. Again, I am sorry.

  17. I don't know of anyone from LH that walked out of the stadium last year believing the outcome would have been significantly different if Noah Long and Joe Pitchford weren't injured. PNG out played us, out coached us and the fans out spirited us. Hell, even the band was better. LH has already overachieved many fan's expectations this year. Our offensive production is down this year and our pass defense is actually worse than last year. What this team lacks in size, elusive speed and elite talent, we make up for in heart and relentless tenacity (at times). Many LH fans want to move away from the Slot-T but I believe this scheme is the primary reason why we consistently make deep runs into the playoffs. Keep an eye on the 165lb Noseguard (#44) because he is fun to watch. That kid has a motor like no other and MAY get home a couple times if the O-line gets caught sleepin'. Good luck PNG fans! I hope the game is competitive, injury free and everyone leaves it all out there on the field. Regardless of the outcome, I'll be in Arlington next week watching a full day of football with my son who will hopefully be playing in this game next year!

It has been an honor to express our excitement, frustration and in Charlie's case, homerism. He is a die hard Tigers fan no doubt. In case you didn't already know it. It didn't end the way we wanted it to for the Tigers but we will be back. also, know we don't do this for the recognition. We do this for the football fans who can't travel, for the shift workers who are parents and for anyone who tunes in from across the state. Bless the Tigers. Bless the 409. Bless the young men who leave it all out there just like those of us who played. Wig & Chavo. We out.

    A Tale of Two Cities

Just a thought here and I understand there might be some controversy around this. I think Crosby's implosion and PNG's ascension should teach us a couple very important lessons. 1) We overvalue the effect of athletes (bo's and joes) on the success of a program and undervalue the effect of coaching. 2) Great coaches will get the enrollment involved and working. At the end of the day the single most important thing for late playoff success is depth and coaching. Yes losing a great QB/RB/WR/LB can end a season early but if you don't have depth at all the "not superstar" positions and if the backups aren't just as willing, able and wanting to play as the starters you cannot have success at the highest levels. I think this is true because of a couple of reasons, Winner win. If you are successful and win others want to be a part of that, from that 6'8 300 lbs kid that's never touched a football to that 5'6 kid who will run through a wall to get his chance. They all are important and they all need to feel like part of the team. If you win then no one cares about being the backup. If you win people will be happy to just be on the team. If you win you can have 65 athletes on Varsity every single year. Even a team without elite athletics' talent can execute plays at a high level if they are well coached. Practice times, culture of work, and accountability set the standards for developing 14 year old's into athletic 17 years old's. That being said great coaches can overcome program deficiencies that previously existed. Crosby and PNG prove this. PNG has no more talent now than it has for the last decade. Crosby has no less talent than it has for the last decade. It's about how that talent is coached, brought through the system, and executes daily. My ramblings.

To each and everyone that helped to show me that prayer is a great power I thank you so very much. My wife while still in the hospital is feeling much better and seems to be doing well. The absolute great news is there is/was no Congestive heart failure as they first thought. The updated diagnosis is she had what is called a Bronchospasm. To put it simple, a Bronchospasm is when the airway gets overworked. A staph infection in her blood has had her on antibiotics but its not around her heart or lungs so that's good. I can't honestly thank you ALL enough for the thoughts and prayers. I am so grateful. I was so scared and worried about her when I posted on her situation and without fail yall showed up. Coach Bashing

This season, more so than any other that I can remember in my 15 or so years on SETXsports, we're having a major problem with multiple posters from multiple teams continually bashing, criticizing, and insulting various area coaches. Moderators have had to post the no coach-bashing rule in multiple threads that have gone off the rails due to complaints about coaching. There are ways to express yourself without violating this rule. If you can't find a way to do so, I'd suggest avoiding the topic completely. I don't care if WOS goes 2-8, if Vidor runs the ball up the middle 200 times in a row, or if Hull-Daisetta doesn't listen to the experts and mismanages the clock while calling the wrong plays. Anyone who violates this rule during the remainder of the season is receiving an immediate one-week ban. Violations are decided by moderator discretion. If you continue to violate the rule once you return you will be banned permanently. If you're about to make a post about coaching, but you're not sure if it's okay, don't make it. Save your opinion for facebook, or better yet, go to the game and scream it in the stands with the other coaching experts. It's important to remember that while our site encourages healthy discussion, we demand an atmosphere of respect towards our local players, coaches, and communities, no matter your opinion of their performance.. Please remember that this post is your free warning. Any questions about this rule, or about a post you'd like to make, may be sent to myself or other moderators in private message for clarification without repercussions. Below, for the fiftieth time, is the rule that so many of you continue to violate. Thank you, and happy posting. 18 ) The bashing of any particular coach, player, referee, etc will not be tolerated. This includes issues involving their personal lives, coaching/playing style or performance, past experiences, etc.

    Coach Bashing

I agree completely about student athletes NOT being called out. They’re kids. I’ll abide by the rule about coaches, but it’s dumb. If a man wants to take on the role of coaching with all of its financial rewards, prestige, power, etc… and expects to bask in the glory and praise after wins, he/she should have to face the criticism when it comes. There’s a big difference between criticizing a kid who threw a pick versus criticizing a highly paid professional who made a questionable play call, or is even having problems after deciding to install a new philosophy despite the old one being pretty doggone effective. Should people stick “for sale” signs in his yard? Absolutely not. But should that man be spared from any form of criticism, too? I don’t think so.

  33. There are always two sides to every story. I know a lot of coaches read this site but I am not going to sit and be someone’s punching bag on a site where people hide their real name. I am not hiding behind my screen name. I have a great resume. Yes, I have been at different places but some were my choice and some were the results of politics in this profession. Some of you coaches who stir up the conversations and hide behind a screen name, well that is why I don’t come coach with you guys. You should worry about your jobs since you are on short leashes. You know who you are and coaches in the area know who you are too. Heck, I have had 7 coaches contact me this morning about the jabs taken at me on this post and they all had only positive things to say. (Last 5 years) OF Assistant – went 3 rounds deep, renewed for next school year. Evadale Boys Head Coach – Won District Championship…tripled win total. Principal wanted her brother to be the coach. (Turned out ok because I went to OF) WOS Girls Head Coach – Renewed, accepted job at Evadale (basketball school) Slocum Girls Head Coach – told girls program from Middle school to High School would not win a game. Won 30 games overall…. AD wanted best friend as a retire/rehire to take over Girls. Ask me to go to the boys’ side as assistant. I ended up accepting job at WOS. (Covid hit this year as well) Deweyville Boys Coach – Wanted to coach my daughter. Accepted job at Slocum. 111 wins as a Head Coach 3 District Championships as Head Coach, 3 District Championships as an Assistant Graduate in December from Lamar as a Honor Student with Master of Education Administration Degree.

  34. After 51 straight years of attending the boys basketball state tournament, my streak will end this season as I will not be attending this year. My goal since I started going was to attend as many as my dad did who started taking me when I was 8 years old in 1972. My dad ended up attending 50 straight, his last time going in 2007. I made 51 straight last season. My priorities have changed over the years and my interest has waned some the last couple of years. Got grand sons to run around with now (T-ball, soccer, etc.) along with hanging out at the beach. With the wife and I retired now, just got other things I want to do. Actually I'll be hitting the new Horseshoe casino next week. I enjoyed each and every trip to the state tourney. Great memories with my dad and got to see some great basketball. I have been truly blessed. I may attend another state tourney (particularly if Silsbee goes) but the streak had to end sometime. Will miss hanging out with coaches, officials, media and fans that attended on a regular basis. Good luck To Beaumont United next week. Bring home that 3rd state championship.

  35. Considering how close PA and PNG communities are, this would have been perfect for both teams to do a double header

  37. I have attended high school sporting events for many decades. One thing I have learned, regardless of sport, the bleachers are full of coaches. (game officials too)

  38. You are so delusional and unrealistic, it’s damn near impossible to have a conversation with you. Only 1 team in a division wins it every year. At the start of the year, each division has around 5-8 teams that have a realistic chance. Sometimes making the 3rd round, or state quarterfinals with the talent you are coaching is in itself a great feat. if you think any coach is gonna go to PNG, and beat the current talent Crosby has had, or a program like Aledo, you don’t know the game of football. Dodge didn’t win state at Marble Falls, or Cameron Yoe. Didn’t even get close. Why is that? Surratt isn’t going to Hamshire-Fannett and going to win state, why is that? When I go to watch a high school football game, I usually try to stand along a fence by the track to avoid ppl like you in the stands. Don’t have a clue, but boy, you have all the answers from row 32, seat C.

  40. Who do you mean by "every body?" 32 of the 36 pick 'em contestants (88%) picked WO-S. Of the 14 who ventured a guess in the prediction thread, 11 picked WO-S. Tepper, on his weekly video, picked WO-S in this game. I didn't see who Stepp picked. So before you make bold, and WRONG, statements like you did above, you may want to invest in a little bit of reading. BTW, does anybody use a freaking period anymore?

WOS @ Newton Who you got

Say what you want, but this is old time high school football. Two good teams playing on a grass field with a crown, small stadium and rabid fans. These kind of games are the seeds of Texas High School Football that are where all the big mega stadiums and huge crowds come from.

  43. I want to congratulate PNG on making it to state again! Making it once is tough enough but back to back seasons is special! I know yall are going to bring the whole tribe, and South Dallas is banning together. Should be a great atmosphere. Good luck and safe travels!

  44. I have always said just send 2, but I'm old school that way. But, if you are going to send 4 teams, make sure every district has a minimum 7 teams in it. I don't like 4 teams going out of 4, 5 and even 6 team districts. Also, every #1 seed (district champ) should host a 1st round playoff game. Another incentive to win district.

  45. Funny it seems that its always a call near or at the end of the game that will be questioned that cost the losing team the game. Fact is that bad calls or missed ones are part of the game. Football is an imperfect game, that's why it's played and why we love it. I can't remember how many Cuero games I have left fuming because I felt of a bad call and then show me video or replay of the play and OMG I wouldn't sleep the rest of the week. This game was no different. You had two great teams so evenly match that the game could have gone either way. The turning point I felt was when Silsbee had Cuero down 20-7 and seem to let off the gas pedal defensively. I also felt Cuero made better half-time adjustments offensively because neither team could stop the other. Those are my thoughts. Silsbee has a great team and from the post's great fans, I have no doubt you will be back and if Cuero is not there, I will be pulling for you. As for now thank you both for one of the most exciting games of the ages.

  46. Don’t know nothing about the kid that was kicked off, other than I’ve heard from several in the community that he was a turd. Two sides to every story. As far as the Carl Broussard story. CT was a character witness. He can only testify as to what he knew the man to be. I’m fairly confident that CT didn’t condone he’s actions and what he was found guilty of. I know Broussard personally, myself. He coached at my high school in 1995, and I ran into him over the years. What he did was beyond reproach, but that’s not the person I knew. To say CT didn’t have morals, and wasn’t a man of a character as some in West Orange want ppl to believe is bull crap. They are reaping what they have sown.

  49. People can think what they want of me, I really couldn’t care any less. If Dems are hell bent on dividing this country, then people will seek refuge in safe states. God, I love Texas and its commitment to our values as Americans… Last night, we finished our Regular Session and our second 30 day special session. Here is what was accomplished: - $1.8 B Funding for a Texas border wall. - Texas CDC created. - Fetal heartbeat bill. - Balanced budget $250 B. - Strengthened the Texas Power Grid - Property tax reductions. - Best election integrity reform in US. - Toughest ban on critical race theory in the nation. - Churches and gun stores can never be closed by the government in a pandemic or emergency ever. - 10th amendment Texas sovereignty reaffirmed. Arguably the most conservative session in Texas history. Boldest pro life bill. No State has ever set out to build it’s own wall. A giant ‘we got this’ to the national CDC. Showing 49 other states and the feds you can still balance a budget even with 4 million unemployed and a Covid year clean up. Telling the world if you're going to cheat in elections in Texas… We're coming for you. Telling 6 million Texas children… You will never be shamed or told to feel guilty for your skin color. Telling every mayor and County Judge that you will never shut a church down again while you allow Home Depot's and protesters to gather at will with as many people as they want. And telling the world that Texans will never stand for ammunition to be restricted or gun stores to be closed during any crisis. And any city in Texas that ever reduces a police budget from now forward will lose all sales tax revenue collections until they reinstate that budget. I guarantee you every police force in every city across America will know what we just did and the pressure will be on for all of these blue cities to get their act together and respect the blue. Basically, the exact opposite of the White House. The Biden Administration and the rest of the nation should take notice… Texans will not compromise our values, we’ll never apologize for who we are and the freedoms we love. Texas will run Texas. God bless Texas. #txlege #lettexasruntexas
