2019 FOOTBALL TEAM PREVIEWS

LAKE CREEK LIONS

2018 Record: 2-8 Overall, 2-5 District

6th Place in District 10-5A-II

 

First year programs always have it rough and it was no different for the Lake Creek Lions in 2018 as the Lions struggled to a 2-8 season mark.  Look for progress in 2019 as the youngsters of 2018 become veterans of 2019 as all 11 players return on each side of the ball.

 

Head Coach: Pat Kennedy

Assistant Coaches: Wayne Schwartz (Assistant Head Coach), Brant Bourquin (Defensive Coordinator), Freddie Maynard (Offensive Coordinator), Barry Abercrombie, Shawn Gary, Jeff Newton, Chris Morgan, Jeremy Schramm, Carlton White, Jr., Dylan Larson

Offense

All eleven starters return to the Lake Creek offense in 2019.  Returning to lead the way will be junior quarterback Ty Sexton (2nd team all-district).  Senior running back Ryan Levi should lead the rushing attack.  Junior tight end Dayeton Sweeting will key the Lake Creek passing corp.  Junior lineman Chance Niesner will lead the Lion offensive line.

Defense:

All eleven starters return to the Lake Creek defense in 2019. 

Special Teams:

Senior punter Carter Berry (2nd team all-district) will return to handle those duties in 2019.
