Some local district predictions

Recommended Posts

Png under Fairchief has always had a good offense no matter who the QB is (except when that 6'5 lefty was QB), we're passed that already, the team will go as far as their D takes them.

The D should be experienced this yr. Then again they were experienced in 2016 and what happened? Hopefully it's a different outcome come playoff time or the Fairchief detractors will be out in full force yet again.

I wouldn't mind at all.

Soulja, it's LaPorte but after skimming through the video that Buddy posted, something I noticed is that the BU offense was scoreless until the QB change.  Most people wouldn't notice because in uniform, the 2 QB's (brothers) look just a like besides the jersey numbers.  Even the commentators were confused at one point.  The one dynamic that the returning younger brother brings that the older brother didn't is displayed at the 2:27:19 mark along with several other times in the 2nd half of the game.  In several games this past year I wondered why when the offense was stagnant, they didn't give the younger brother 2 series to see what he could do.  If he can get the accuracy a little bit better, QB should be a bright spot for the Wolves.

And the "Timeout" at 3:32:25...

I noticed it only cause the O started playing like they wanted to win. I told Soulja after a couple of yalls games last yr I thought #5 was the better QB, but that old Ozen syndrome took over (let the SR get the snaps cause he a SR)

I'm more skeptical about Silsbee beating West Orange. I'm not sure anyone has ever beaten West Orange two years in a row, at least not in the last 20 years or so. Someone tell me if I'm wrong about that. Silsbee will be hungry and they have the momentum of a state-championship run, but West Orange isn't going anywhere until they show us otherwise.

Without doing some research, last time I can think of a team beating us 2 years in a row was lamarque in the playoffs 95, 96, 97. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Bro, that's exactly what it was.  Even in the game against y'all, 3-3 late in the 4th quarter, would not give the younger brother a snap.  And usually when they did put him in, the game was already out of hand but the offense would still be able to move the ball.  Nothing was wrong with the older brother throwing the ball.  We just didn't have good protection all year and when it broke down, the younger brother would make something happen with his legs vs taking a sack.  The younger one also will keep the ball on the zone read instead of letting it go all the time.

WO-S' district before Silsbee got there. It wasn't much of a head-scratcher trying to figure out who would win that district.

Yeah.... but at there was a WOS in it. When Lumberton and Splendora are the big fish, you know you’re in a small pond.

I don’t have very high expectations this year. Hope I’m wrong.

You can even count Huffman in the pond swimming around. Still no team with tradition or capable of making a run. WOS has both.

That's  crazy because that Senior,  I was following him for a few years.  He looked damn good in Subvarsity levels.  Plus,  he was 6'4".  He looked the part.  I hate it didn't  translate to varsity ball...

I thought it was pretty accurate except for a couple of teams in 12-5A, which will be exciting to keep up with. A lot of points should be scored in that district so it could shake up several ways.

Beaumont United

La Porte

Baytown Sterling

Has there ever been a less interesting district than the one BC is in?

I really don't know what Bridge City has coming back? After Dubois left it went back to the same ole same o. I think Lumberton lost some of there oline and a running back. But will they be able to throw the ball??? Splendora I know  lost some but im going to have to figure out who they lost because  they don't have a lot of support on this message board. Livingston I think will be better and maybe win a game this year. LCM will have a lot of returners and Id expect good things if the kids don't underachieve. LCM lost some coaching staff so that could be a little difference.  Huffman is kind of like Splendora they don't have a lot of support on this board. . Huffman has  LCM number since we have been in district and I have no idea what they have coming back.. But yes our district is less interesting we don't have any State contenders. We also don't have a lot of Rah Rah guys that support their schools on here in our district. LCM fans are scared to talk but they do a lot of talking in the stands Friday night. Cardinal Backer your the only devoted bird in the tree. Lumberton has a few, and the rest????

Huffman

LCM

Splendora

Lumberton

Bridge CIty

Richmond Foster....Silsbee might do it this year,as I stated last year WOS will have to beat the Tigers twice!

Oh yea, I was at the 2nd game in baytown. RF had a big line on both sides and was highly ranked in their class. That was the last loss before the streak started. I commend coach t for playing bigger and better teams before district starts. Like someone said earlier, before silsbee came in, our district was a cakewalk.
