It's only a matter of time...

I typically don't post much in the political forum, but I truly believe it is only a matter of time before the radical left starts pushing that pedophiles deserve rights and it's a "fetish", not a crime. I sure hope I'm wrong but I have thought this for some time now and after seeing the story of adults throwing money at that little boy dressed as a little girl while provocatively dancing, it furthers my fears. At some point morality and common sense have to take over, but I'm slowly losing faith that it will.

Hogwash. Minors cannot consent in the eyes of the law, and I don’t see anyone changing that. That’s just another fear tactic to demonize the left.

So ur saying it’s not possible that it can’t and won’t happen?

Ask ur great grandparents or grandparents if they thought abortion would be legal that same sex marriage would be legal that people can legally change genders.

That’s what I’m saying. There are some constants in the law, and I believe that’s one.

In my profession, I have to address transgender by what they identify themselves as. I can be reprimanded if I address them as Sir or Mr. I  have been told by Federal prison guards that these convicts are locked up in a male prison, but are allowed to purchase female products. They are allowed to purchase and wear makeup and female under clothing. Hook’em, your fears have come true. Take a stroll down the local mall and you will bear witness to the disease that has spread among our girls and boys. Parents filing suits against school districts because there 6 year old son is not allowed to wear a dress. The courts have even favored the student in some cases. The world we live in lacks morality and common sense. Politicians will and have sole their sole for your vote. A Highschool student in my state filed a law suit because he was not allowed to use the girls restroom. When you think you have heard and seen it all, just keep living, it gets worse.

Politicians have sold their souls for  votes. Right or wrong,

I'm not demonizing the left. Notice I said radical left. Time will tell what will happen.

The legal age in South Carolina is 16. Before that it was 15. My daughter ran away at 16 and the law told me I could not make her come home. However if she broke any laws I was liable. The man she  ran away with was 21. I could not press charges because she was the age of consent.

Hardly a bastion of the radical left, South Carolina. At least they moved it up a year. If anyone advocated less than 17 I’d bolt.

Along a similar line, do you believe  a 12 year old should be tried as an adult in a murder charge?

Individuals as young as 14 years are able to consent to have intercourse with a partner who is 18 yrs or younger. My heart aches for our young people. Be glad you don’t have Senators like Lyndsey and Scott.

Understood. Radical left will not govern any more than radical right. Answer’s almost always somewhere in between.

I'm not a fan of any radical group and although I lean right, I have good friends who lean left but we are able to converse and respectfully disagree on certain subjects although we tend to agree on 80-85% of subjects. What particularly scares me about the radical left is that they label anyone who disagrees with them as a racist, bigot, homophobe, transphobe, etc. and as a society people are getting more and more scared to disagree with the fear of what they will be labeled by the public without the opportunity to present their side of the argument. It is a slippery slope.

My best friend, and roommate from my UT days lives in El Paso. He leans way right on economic policy, not so much social issues, but we still get together a couple of times a year and can go at it like cats and dogs, laughing all the way. Wouldn’t it be nice if more of us could do that. I got another friend here in Silsbee who’s a rock ribbed conservative, but we debate all the time and always part with a handshake.

I believe the child and the parent of that child is ultimately responsible. You can’t bring that life back. Some cases a 12 year old could and should be tried as a adult.

I am against a child being put to death. A 12 year old conducts a mass shooting at his junior highschool should be tried as a adult.

    • Really good hire! As I stated previously on this thread, Mike T has been an essential part of WB’s success the last few years & is a student of the game & I have a ton of respect for how he goes about things as a coach. Big on teaching kids how to do things the right way to prepare them for not only basketball but the game of life. He’ll be fine there, my only question is what kind of talent does WB have returning?  Best thing about this situation for Mike T is WB will be 5A for at least the next 2 years, so he should win a lot of games & have some deep playoff runs.
    • So which coaches kid gets the QB job? Trotter or Barrier
    • A Winnie land owner (and others) sued the State of Texas after they built IH-10 a few feet higher in order to help contain storm flooding. Sure enough a hurricane hit and flooded the land. The storm improvements worked!! Unfortunately the state sacrificed several people’s properties in using the interstate highway as a dam.  Richard DeVillier tried to sue Texas under our laws and Constitution and the US Constitution under the Fifth Amendment “taking clause” (eminent domain). After a favorable ruling in the federal district court on the right to sue Texas directly, the Fifth Circuit Court in New Orleans overturned that ruling and said that the DeVlier had no authority to sue Texas directly.  On Tuesday a unanimous US Supreme Court ruled that DeVillier and others had the right to sue Texas directly under Texas law and under the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution. The case is now sent back down to the lower court. DeVillier and others have not won their lawsuits as the case has not been decided on its merits at a trial. He still has to go to prove his case. What they did win was a unanimous Supreme Court agreeing that he has the right to bring Texas to trial for taking his property with just compensation.
