Silsbee vs WOS - Regional Finals

Yesterday, Dec. 7th 2018 - a date which will live in infamy.  In Orange anyway.

Tell you one thing, I was impressed with the Mustangs after the game.  When the teams lined up to shake hands they were downright warm about it!  It was more than just a perfunctory get-this-over-with thing.  And after a tough loss in very difficult circumstances.  Talk about sportsmanship.

Now, what do we do about Cuero or Navarro?  Given the Tigers proclivity for foul weather I wonder if we can arrange a blizzard or something?  Or maybe not, we're Tigers, not snow leopards.

That was a big thing i noticed last night.  Given some of the past history between these two i was so happy to see it during and after the game.  These two played a hard fought game in horrible conditions and played it the way it should be played.  I could not be more proud of either team.

This game has the possibility of being one of the most talked about game for years to come..: except it’s going to be played in an empty stadium.

thats just wrong.

As in most cases.... you were way off.

Game goes down as an all time experience in my book.

Stadium wasnt empty considering weather and it wont be forgotten by Silsbee fans.

Not by a long shot.

WO-S side wasn't as any as Silsbee.  The Silsbee side of the parking lot was packed and there was a lot more people at the game than I expected that braved the driving conditions and elements.

The community of Silsbee shows a lot more support than orange. Which is sad considering the success of the wos football program

Newton will be the only team from the 409 playing at Jerrys World.

Sounds like someone still butt hurt. But keep the comments coming because I’m sure this year‘s team turns that negativity into tackling fuel. We all know everyone thinks Jasper and WOS was the better team but doesn’t matter now because the Tigers are the only ones taking another bus ride.

I could care less about Jasper, WOS, or Silsbee. Not but hurt snowflake.  Just realistic.

Final thoughts on this game, Congrats to Silsbee for getting it done. Congrats to WOS for a good season, tough start but great run to regional final.

Played in good weather conditions the game may have had a different outcome.

Doesnt look like the weather will be a factor in the upcoming game with Cuero. They are always tough, Tigers will need their A game. Go get that state championship, and bring it back to the 409.

    • Wrong again. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up   The day that Trump took office, our nation debt stood at 19.9 Trillion dollars (End of Q4, 2016).  After his tax cuts (without corresponding cuts in spending), the national debt stood at 23.2 Trillion dollars at the end of Q1 of 2020 that was the Start of COVID, FYI... Or a total increase in debt of almost 17% during Trump's first three years (and one quarter) in office.  At the end of his reign (with COVID spending for which Trump himself signed off on) was at 27.7 Trillion Dollars.  That's a 39% increase in the National Debt while Trump was in office.  For further reference, Biden inherited a 27.7 Trillion dollar debt to start.  At the end of Q4 2023, the debt stands at 34 Trillion.  That's an increase of 19% over the first three years. I know that math and facts hurt your feelings, but Trump was horrible for the country before he allowed "them Dirty Democrats to shut down the economy."  Anybody that says "Trump was good for the country" doesn't know the first thing about micro/macro economics or the effects of deficit spending.  Trump hurt us like no other president, period.  Anybody that says "Trump was good for the economy" is actually stating for the rest of us with some sense "I don't know what I'm talking about."
    • But of course you wouldn’t understand the saying. You’re so clever. Your education precedes you.
    • Hmmmm..... Didn't they just win a football state championship?
    • The fact that you try to bolster your assertion that Trump was a bad president by using "facts" that are not attributable to him is disinformation at it's worse. It is "lying by omission", which is just another way to say big ol' fat lie. Unemployment was going down to record lows before Covid hit. You and I and almost everyone on Earth knows this, but somehow you try to spin this stat as a knock on Trump. Same for the stock market. LYING BY OMISSION. A tactic almost as old as prostitution. The debt and spending exploding due to Trump is just an old fashioned bald face lie. You seem to follow the mantra "if you tell a lie enough times it becomes fact." You are starting to resemble Biden now. Do you have any other whoppers to share?
    • Intentionally keeping top secret documents haphazardly around the house comes to mind.  A lot of what came out of his mouth, torpedoing the political careers of republicans who didn’t fall in line?  I don’t know that he all of a sudden became a beacon of moral light and goodness just because he got into office. Again, we’re not talking about policy, but what kind of person he is.  If anything he seemed to get worse once he was in power as far as I could see.
