Nederland 21 Silsbee 14/FINAL

Congrats to Bulldogs.  Very sloppy and ugly game and you pulled it out.  Silsbee had many chances.  Defense played after the 1st quarter.  I see improvement, but we still need work on better blocking and passing.  Nederland will be fine and are very good running the ball.  They'll probably be playing for the district title in their district.

Lots to work on in the next 2 weeks.....Got  a week off to polish, hone and grind.....Like our potential but, we have to improve on center qb exchange, punting, and deep snaps....Just to name a few. The run game has a big upside, but hasnt really hit its stride. 2 young backs that move the chains and a couple of other upper classmen that can tote the mail....Deepest weve been in the backfield in yrs......

Did Nederland really only have 1 fumble??  I cam remember 2 i believe off hand.  One that we knocked around for about a thousand yards before they recovered it.  Another on a kickoff that went right to another Nederland player. ( right after the one we recovered on the kickoff that didnt count because of the offsides).  And then what does the snap over the punters head actually list as?  One other question is how does a player have receiving yards but no reception?

Seems we had an interception or 2 also?

I think those yards for Martin must have been from the hook and ladder, just dont 5hink they should be listed as receiving yards but not sure.  The do have the 2 ints listed on the qb stats.

If the team recovers their own fumble does it count in the stats as a fumble?

they may only be counting fumbles lost. That would be my only explanation for it.

The stat has numbers for total fumbles and fumbles lost.  They list nederland as 1-0 and us at 5-3 meaning thet had 1 fumble and did not lose it , where we lost 3 of 5.

He is fine, could of went back in,just slipped again and tweaked same knee again that he hurt in scrimmage, now he has two full weeks to heal before district which is good!!!

Not really sure your information is very credible as you think.  You said the team would wear gold pants in the mud as a reply to someone not wanting to get white pants dirty.  Turns out they did actually wear white pants...

Turns out the gold pants were still dirty from the extra scrimmages and spring games.....

    • That there’s not a single thread on the fact that the Republican nominee is on trial for paying off a porn star with whom he had an affair while the future First Lady was carrying said nominee’s child.    I remember back when the dirty, no-good Dems sacked Gary Hart over something similar. Same thing with John Edwards and later Anthony Weiner.    But y’all keep pretending God is on your side, lol.
    • I hear what you’re saying, BUT… that hammers the hell out of poor people and the ones with multiple properties don’t eat any more than the poor ones. In fact, you’d basically just be taxing a lot of peoples’ EBT payments. The government  can’t get ahead by taxing what they’re already borrowing to give to people.    I think well off people should pay more… but the scale as it exists is broken.    For the sake of argument, my mom’s house in Groves is valued at $125k. 2/1/1 on a slab.  Her tax bill is $850/year. Without exemptions, her bill would be 3200. It’s right on JCAD’s website. The problem is this…. If someone tries to rent out an identical house, they’d expect to get, what… $1200/month? If you take into account that homeowners/windstorm/flood is a minimum of another $2k per year, you’d need $5k a year just to cover the taxes and insurance. That’s four months (1/3 of the year) just to cover those costs, not counting a potential mortgage payment. But then everybody cries about how expensive rents are… you can’t tax the hell out of non-homestead property to make up for gifts given to homeowners in the form of big tax cuts. It just doesn’t work.    Ten acres in Lumberton? I’ve got a buddy with 10 acres in Lumberton on HWY 69. Prime property… it’s his retirement plan. Sale it one day and cash in. The CAD decided that it no longer qualifies for a special use valuation (timber) and stripped his “exemption.” His 2023 tax bill jumped from $25 to $22,000…. It’s insane.
    • I’m curious what happened… they aren’t even in full pads yet.
    • They’re going to have win almost all remaining games and get finals of tournament to think about an at-large. When LU was in the WAC, Grand Canyon got an at-large after New Mexico St came out of nowhere to win conference tournament. Grand Canyon had a dang good resume that year. It can happen, but resume wise isn’t in their favor.
