Changes at KP

17 posts in this topic

What the heck?? We finally get get a little momentum going our way (lets be honest - we needed it) and now we're getting news that our DC is bailing and so are some of out assistant coaches.  Not good for us.  Consistency is NOT one of our pluses.  Hard to get kids to buy into the program when it's constantly changing. Feel bad for our athletes.  Hear we get the Summer Creek DC - don't know anything about him, but still ..... just when you think the tide has turned ... BAM .... shtuff changes again.  Another year of "I don't know ...."

Haven't heard. Been out of the loop for a bit. From what I understand a couple of assistants are joining Holey up in Porter.  They're getting the band back together ......

Farva - you know where in the Metroplex?  As a HC I assume? It's been crickets over here about his new job/destination.

I heard he was going back as an assistant. Also heard next year KP will have a new OL, WR, Secondary, and LB coach at the varsity level.

All the changes sounds about right. My kid graduates in a week so I won't have my inside track to information - not that he told that much anyway. Hate to say it but it could be a long year for the KP boys. Tough schedule and LOTS of new coaching faces. Maple is still there.

Losing good coaches sucks but can't knock someone for improving himself.

Congrats on your kid's graduation.

Every interview I've ever been on the word "loyalty" is brought up then they offer a probationary contract.

If you want these guys to stay offer them a contract that is 3-5 years so they can get established in a community...Imagine how much better programs would be if the district would commit to the coach as much as they expect the coach to commit to the district.

    • BH vs. Dayton
Dayton is averaging 14ppg on offense. Dayton is giving up over 31ppg on defense. I’m going to go out on a limb and say those numbers aren’t representative of the #5 offense and the #2 defense but the Baytown Sun may use different algorithms for their calculations?
    • Crosby at Vidor
It’s all good, that’s usually what happens when the new kid comes to school and steals all the girls.
    • Crosby at Vidor
You didn’t run well on Crosby last game and they weren’t in it until the end. Vidor was down 12 at the half and didn’t score again until there was 1 min left in the 3rd quarter, Crosby scored 3 mins later to go back up by 11 and Vidor never got back inside double digits until Crosby ran a safety out of the back of the end zone to kill the clock.  Just becuase Vidor runs the ball a lot doesn’t mean they’re s better running team than Crosby. In two meetings Vidor has 125 rushing attempts for 662 yards, Crosby has 46 rushing attempts for 507 yards. Crosby averages over double what Vidor does per attempt. Nobody cares about the wet field, it’s just makes y’all even slower. Meanwhile you proved my point, BH slaughtered Vidor on a wet grass field yet Vidor played Crosby better on a turf field later. No matter the weather conditions I think Crosby comes in and makes a statement to open district play.
