If Roy Moore loses the election in Alabama

I need a safe space, replete with tissues, Play-Doh, Crayons and puppies. This safe space needs to have a sky light so I can periodically shout at the sky. I would also like to emphatically state that the Senate seat was robbed. Everyone but Roy Moore is to blame for his loss. America no longer represents the values that I espouse, and the rest of the world will hate us. War is eminent, ending the reign of Man on this planet. (Ooops, I've been acting like a Liberal for so long I almost forgot I wasn't one. Nevermind.)

Just great - was replying to Hoops.  Got halfway through and "page reloaded".  My complete reply to Englebert came back up to submit.  Did someone on here upset the NSA, Russians, or Chinese?  Or, (as ancient astronaut theorists believe) is this another result of Moore losing.

Anyway, good question Hoops.  Why did he stop?  Perhaps many of Trumps advisors come up with the same conclusions you did, and convinced him to  rein in Moore.  Although how they could get Trump to change his mind is a mystery to me.  The man is hardheaded.

On another note, the tweet from last night that PhatMack19 posted from the President was classy and insightful.   Which can only lead me to one conclusion, Ivanka had his phone :D

Seriously though, maybe he’s turned over a new leaf?  I have long argued he has been his own worst enemy, in large part due to Twitter.  Maybe he’s coming to that realization.   I’m hopeful, but also not holding my breath...

I know this is facetious but brings up an interesting point.  Why on earth would someone stop their campaign the weekend before the election?

I haven't been following the saga too closely, but I did hear yesterday that Moore was AWOL the last week. The only thing I can think of is maybe his campaign thought they had it wrapped up and didn't want a last minute gaff to spoil it. It's a puzzler to me also.

I really think the Sean Hannity interview was the main reason he lost the election. I don't think he ever really recovered from that. I had to literally LOL when I heard Joe Trippi (Jones' campaign manager and a person I respect) actually say that Doug Jones won because the people of Alabama chose Jones' policies over Moore. Now that was funny. It was the PC thing to say, but I'm pretty sure everyone in America knew it was BS.

He pretty much has to be.  If not, in Alabama it would be a very brief stay for him.

Unfortunately, it's my perception a democrat in Congress doesn't have the opportunity to vote his will, or those of his constituents.  You lockstep with the party.  A practice the Republicans are trying to emulate.  Essentially, the DNC & RNC decide what's important to the folks of Texas, New York, and Kansas.  Not a situation I care for.

But you have no particular dislike of the individual, other than maybe his stance on abortion?

Honestly I know nothing about him, but if he has to vote as the DNC requires him to do, it wouldn't matter if he were Barry Goldwater.  That's my point.  The man/woman's personal position is irrelevant.  The likes or dislikes of their constituents is unimportant.  Virtually all our congressional representatives vote what the parties dictate.

I'm sure many of our younger posters would be surprised that 50 years ago a vote may have looked like this:

FOR:  200  (R-90  D-110).  AGAINST:  180   (R-95  D-85)

But you'll never see that again.

Is that why Republicans now hate Mccain?  He won't vote party lines?

Eh I dunno, the old guard of Democrats seem to be going the way of the neo-con. Look at the fact that Democrats will probably elect an independent-socialist as their candidate in 2020 in Bernie Sanders. Politics, they are a changin'.

Oh, no doubt they're changing, but those at the top will still pull the strings in Congress.

An independent-socialist.  Another in a long line of things I'd never anticipated.

Did you have a problem when that Democrat Congressman resigned a couple of weeks ago based on allegations? Admit defeat. I read that Trump is "walking back" his endorsement  of Moore. He is now saying that he knew Jones would win.

Was this what you told Hillary? LMFAO. Btw, you are not BG. Too bad you are too chicken to post under your own monicker.

Come on Lbs -- where are all of Judge Moore's accusers now??!!  Just like the Trump accusers before the election.  Now, POOF, they are gone.  I just wonder if this is the way the other side wants to play the game.  I know they can't compete in the arena of ideas and have to resort to this.  But, I todl Hoops before, if I play by the rules you set then don't complain about it later!
