Reading is fundamental...

Not sure if you’re directing that at me, I’m aware of the fact there is no “East” Beaumont. Friends of mine who still live in Beaumont and attended each of these schools have emphasized that.

However, those I’ve spoken to not from Beaumont believe there is a West and and East. Or if there is a West, then diametrically there should be an East. Much like if there’s a Right, then there must be a Left, Up/Down, Hot/Cold, etc...

Yes it was directed at you because of your initial comment.  If you would back away from the keyboard and take a few minutes of your life to read his article, it would explain to you how "he" came up with East.  I didn't come up with it, just repeated what he wrote.  If you want to know, my personal favorite that I have seen and that's getting a lot of steam and traction in other places is Beaumont Obama High.  But we already know that people that don't even have a kid that will be attending the merger school, don't have a kid in BISD, don't even live in Beaumont or simply just love #45 and what he stands for would come out to protest and boycott that naming.  All I will say is they better hope that it's not left up solely to the students and staff to vote...:) (sunglasses).

I read Ashly’s article - I’m discussing how some actually think there is an “East” Beaumont. Also, how some former students and players feel about the issue.

Ive also stated in previous post related to this topic that I support whatever the people most directly impacted by this want to do. It’s their money and their kids. Name it Obama High, won’t bother me one bit.

I no longer live in Beaumont, nor do I have kids that go to BISD schools. I’m just a former resident that’s interested in what’s happening.

Ok, we now have an understanding on the "East" Beaumont part.

Nothing towards you man, I just have 4 kids that will be on that campus next year, whatever the name, mascot and colors are.  I'm not just on this site but I'm on a couple others on Facebook pertaining to the possible merger and status of Central.  I've been at most of the public board meetings since Harvey that I could make and even one that was private that they nearly had to get a police escort to make me leave.

Just a concerned and invest parent...

You have 4 obvious reasons to be a concerned, invested parent. Whatever happens, I hope it is in the best interest of the kids.

I just read it and I understand now.

But I'm leaning towards Ozen-Central Wildcats.  The color scheme got me.  Maroon and Blue is very unique and I'd love to see out kids in that while keeping the big cat theme...

Too close to the color scheme for the school from across town.  I have no problem with the name but color scheme should be different.  Don't want the other school thinking we are copying them.  And Wildcats are not "big" cats bro.  I don't have a problem with the Wildcats but if you want a big cat, use a Lion or Tiger.

I've no skin in this game. Have no opinion about what a combined school should be named....that's the people of Beaumont's  business.

That said, I thought I might a contribution based on the suggestion of hurricanes in black and silver:

Logo:

Silver helmet, Black outline of Texas, Dot (or make it a star) from the logo at Beaumont, Hurricane symbol around the dot (or star)....

I'm not tech savvy enough to make a helmet and put it all together

Yea I like that, The black just brings out an Intemidation factor, you know and with the Hurricanes as a logo..

That would be perfect

Looks like BISD could get a couple of years to figure out what they are going to do.

So the saga continues.  This is why I said on an earlier post that I wasn't feeling so confident anymore that the 2 schools would merge along with all the work that is going on over at the main campus.

Anything that's larger than a domesticated cat (housecat) is considered a big cat...  Lion, tiger, cheetahs, leopard, lynx, bobcat, ect...

I do see what you saying on replicating the colors of that school across town...

    • Yeah, I got that but talk about a stretch. It should seem obvious that Trump’s prosecution is purely political. If someone is going to do a whataboutism, at least make it similar.  This is so ludicrous that it’s like comparing a ham sandwich to a wallet.
    • You consistently try to say Trump ran our debt up and that the stock market and job market cratered during his administration (along with other MSNBC talking points). That is a flat out LIE, and you know it. Not only are you telling a mistruth, you knowingly are telling a mistruth...which is a blatant LIE...which makes you a "(I don't remember what word you used to describe Trump, something like a purse for dirt)" does it not? You know for a fact that the economy, stock market, and job market was thriving under Trump. You know that the Democrats controlled the house, and proposed a budget that would hurt the economy, in which he shut down the government. Even after this fiasco brought on by Democrats, our economy flourished under his administration. Then Covid19 hit, and the blue states shut down the country. YOU KNOW THIS, but continue to blame Trump. You lie...blatantly. Again, what do we call these people that partake in disseminating misleading information. You coined it...that purse thing. Does the shoe fit? I bet it does. It is amazing that you try to put "MAGA people" into this little box for the soul purpose of allowing all negative attributes of anyone that will vote for Trump instead of Biden to be attributed. That is a sickening modus operandi of stupid people. It is hard for me to believe that you would adopt that childish stereotyping. But since you are willing, I'm willing to push back. I'm a Trump supporter. I will gladly vote for him over Biden. So get busy putting me in your silly little box of stereotypes so I can embarrass you some more. You've been shot down by practically everyone on this board when you say stuff like Trump is their Messiah, or that supporters overlook his flaws. Everyone on this board has stated that they don't agree with Trump on much of his behavior, but you ignore these statements and continue with your lies. Oh yeah, since I'm a Trump supporter, those comments were also directed directly at me. So let's go. Prove I'm a simpleton that will ignore all of Trump's flaws and vow to disown the bad ol' orangeman. Let's continue that diatribe you peddle. I now am interested in responding. I also have boxes I can place people in. Whose box is accurate? Better yet, whose box is more embarrassing? I'm fairly certain your box is more entertaining for the board to make fun of. TDS should be included in the DSM-6, or revise the DSM-5 to include it since this phenomenon is so pervasive now. You are a walking, talking picture of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Do you like that box? Can you refute the rationale for placing you in that box. Everyone can refute your rationale for placing them into your irrational box, while you languish in your TDS box.
    • Clinton got impeached because of it. David Pecker said it was true about Stormy today. Under oath.
    • Election interference. Cheating.
    • It’s not about worrying about Trump’s morality. It’s about him being held to a totally hypocritical standard that is applied to anybody else that’s not him. Double it if it happens to be a Democrat. What he did to Ted Cruz in 2016, for example. Accused him of extramarital affairs. Really? And the gang cheered the Master on. Sick is what it is.
