Brewster!!!!! Ya dead to me, man!

So in the 13 years or whatever since Brewster "got" VY, what else has he done, exactly?

Replies:

Kept on recruiting at a pretty high level until this year.

Every ex-player from those years who comes on the radio, raves about Brew and how he was a big reason why they came here.

Quote:

He's good enough to skull-$#@! Herman in recruiting. Not good.

Yes, because being able to recruit well to UT and FSU is a linear equivalent to recruiting students to live in College Station and play for the aggies that haven't won $#@! since the athletes grandparents were in courtship. Lots of sandy vaginas about Brewster for no real reason yet.

There really is no doubt he was a dominant recruiter for Texas 15-17 years ago and a huge part of Mack's early success. Hopefully he treats this as a pre-retirement gig but I would have strongly preferred we hired him.

To be fair, Herman seems to be recruiting quite well without Brewster.

Don't get me wrong, he would have been great to have back on the 40 Acres.

It would be a recruiting downgrade for the best recruiting staff in CFB.

Tim was in Atx and chose to leave.

Well 3 all Americans got Herman 6 wins so he needs to recruit at least 7-8 future all Americans to win it all.  Good luck with that.

Based on the 100 year aggy football model it takes more than conference affiliation, All-Americans, 1st round draft picks, and a Heisman Trophy winner to "win it all". Hell, to even win your division.

I like Texas' chances.

    • From what I read, the state intended for there to be no drainage. It was to act as a dam or levee just like the hurricane levee around Port Arthur. It worked to perfection.  In doing so, the water had to pile up somewhere.  Like in Causby that I mentioned above, the Supreme Court ruled in that case that the federal government took his land by merely flying planes over it but low enough that the engine noise was disrupting.

    • Exactly. Of course changing realignment to make matchups more fair helps, but fairness always helps, and that shouldn’t be a knock against PNG. But, they created the fixed divisions in what, 2018? How did PnG do in that setup before Joseph showed up? Elite coaching mixed with good players and good luck, and a level playing field, yeah that helps a lot. But for anyone trying to say PNG had it easy, why don’t the other 120-ish teams in 5aD2 do just as well?
    • It’s not a land issue, it’s a demographic issue. The population in PN-GISD is getting younger. Old folks are dying off, and their homes are being bought by young families moving in with increasing frequency. Factor in that PN-GISD is more attractive than some of its neighbors right now thanks to the newer schools, the quality of education and the recent extracurricular success, and you have an easy explanation for the ~20% enrollment growth that’s occurred over the last ten years while the neighboring Jefferson County districts have all either flat-lined or shrunk. You also have an explanation for Groves posting the highest growth rate in the county and the third highest in the MSA on the 2020 census. We’re a lot closer to 5ADI numbers than people realize.
    • Dang i cant believe they past up on Cornel Thompson
