I would not coach a team simply because it does not pay enough. And a 4 year degree does not include a class on football. With your knowledge, obviously you should know that. So take Fairclothes jock strap off your nose and realize what I said was the truth. Since I do not read many of your posts, I took the freedom to view your profile and go through the negativity you spew. I almost feel like your the twin brother of FOX. So you and Football Freak can now be his minions. So now that you know what i think of you, let me help you and your minion out. You cant keep your D line in tight, since they are the D line. So the scheme, which you misunderstood.  The post stated. Play tight, meaning move your linebackers up in tight, corners up tight, and bring the safeties up. That is what bring them up tight means. And as stated, Welles, needs no help with the band, so I am out of luck on that one. However, I did help raise him 20K, that is just what kind of guy I am... Thanks for all the advice and help, i certainly understand your expertise now... PM is a easier way for contact info.......

Will be a good football game however it's gonna take a huge dose of Roschon for PNG to win this. Is he up for the task? I will be at this derby in full Pirate support of the purple Indians attire.

Big Ned and PNG provided me a true Jaguar fan the opportunity to see my first high school football of the year. Headed back to Cali now on the plane. Wish I could stay in Humble to catch PNG but back

Pulling for PNG. Much respect through the years. The Golden Triangle is Family. Living away from the area since the early ‘80’s, you appreciate your roots, and it’s folklore. Football in our area is truly special. My name on here certainly states my allegiance. Along with that, go Indians! Also, Monte Barrow is my second cousin. Great job this year to my cousin Linda’s son!

I see a troubling trend starting in PNG OFF. Yes RIGGS and SHUG are our best weapons we need to get back to being more like the Patriots in the NFL spread the ball around to all positions making the Def have to balance their game plan instead of being able to double team Riggs and keying on SHUG on every play. Let's face it when Lane and Hebert are in the game and Lane is at running back it's a QB run every time to SHUG.  Have to add new wrinkles off some of these sets or I'm afraid at the level of competition we are playing at now we are gonna struggle. Need to throw to the HB 4 to 5 times a game and the RB out of the backfield to make the Defense account for these positions . If they did it would free up plays for Riggs and Cameron and the other receivers. As far as our Def we had the best effort we have had in any game this past week . Honestly kids were hitting and wrapping up when we got there to make tackles. Unfortunately if we have a chance to win it's gonna more than likely be in a shootout . Defense give the OFF a chance make a couple of stops or create a turnover and I love our chances this week. Go Indians !!!!!@

No let's not take away from the schemes that have worked for the last 2 years with SHUG at QB I give all credit to coach for that along with SHUGS insane athletic ability to make things happen and how hard the kid runs . But the further we advance the better the coaching gets the more talented teams are gonna get and yes they see what we see on film and will scheme to stop it.

My concern has nothing to do with the offense. R.J. has proved, even with a condensed play book (Nederland Game), we can move the ball. No scheme can stop that. My words where about the defense. Go back and watch us sit back in coverage last year against College Station. The Q.B. had a field day in every aspect. IMO, now granted I do not have a teaching degree, is play fast, and aggressive. If we do that, i am sure we will give up a few big plays, but might not give up enough to get beat. So scheme well on the defensive side of the ball, B.F.s words, not mine, P.N.G. has the best D.C. in the state. So if that holds true, we should be able to figure the SCHEME out and slow these guys down. To B.F.s credit, he is usually ahead of the curve on the offensive side, with exception of the Nederland game. So once again, if we can force 4 punts during this game, I like our chances. But so far, against Crosby and Texas City, we have not seen a TOTAL of 4 punts. So that is my only worry. I like the fact we are the underdog, as well as the fact we are coming off a subpar performance. I think we will be prepared and ready to steal this thing.

Not sure what we can change other than personal on Def that is gonna make us any better. Let's face it we are extremely small on our front 7 compared to most schools left in the playoffs at this point we have very little team speed on Def as compaired to our Off so that creates issues and teams that spread us out and has a athletic QB gives us fits. I agree we ask alot of our corners at times to have to cover for 4 or more seconds because the opponents QB has all day to throw and that will get you beat. Not sure what Templin can do to offset so much adversity that we face each week. Blitzes that don't work give up big plays no pressure on the QB asking our CB and safeties to cover for 4 or more seconds doesn't work either . Glad I'm not a defensive coach in this game your damned if you do and damned if you don't. All we can ask is what our kids  give us week in and week out 110 % effort and let the chips fall where they may. Clock management has to get better those are issues that can win a game like this . Not calling dead ball timeouts needs to be reevaluated as well losing to many time outs when the clock is stopped. And if we have the lead late in a game not snapping the ball with 15 or more seconds on the clock shortening the game to limit opportunities as well. Gonna be a great game no doubt . Go Indians

My sources tell me you have absolutely zero football background, and that most of your interest lies in the band. I honestly have no clue how someone with credentials such as yourself could even post on a football board. You probably couldn't even draw up how to "tighten up the D line or get in man coverage." I bet not one coach has ever come to your place of employment and suggested how you could better yourself as an employee.

So your saying he was in the Band high school and did not play a down of football for PNG?

Oh man he is absolutely wrong about Stat. Stat has ties to PNG coaching that would far outweigh Uncle Pigs imagination. I would be sure that Stat will not discuss this though and I will not for him either. Uncle Pig you and your source are wrong.

Agree!  Short quick runs, passes, get 1st downs & eat clock.  Keep our defense rested & ready to go. Shug & friends must play relaxed, mistake free football.

Perez will get his yards, but our defense has got to step up and get one or two stops during this game.  How they will do that is to be well prepared. Our offense has got to eat clock &  score/ score score/on every possession.   No fumbles, no interceptions, just play execution.

Half Indian/wildcat, you mentioned about taking dead ball timeouts. That timeout was called to be able to gets Riggs back in the game so he wouldn't have to sit out a play after he went down. The coaches asked him and the trainer if he was ok and he said he just had the wind knocked out of him and he was going back in. So that's why they called the dead ball the dead ball timeout.

      I hear what you’re saying, BUT… that hammers the hell out of poor people and the ones with multiple properties don’t eat any more than the poor ones. In fact, you’d basically just be taxing a lot of peoples’ EBT payments. The government  can’t get ahead by taxing what they’re already borrowing to give to people.    I think well off people should pay more… but the scale as it exists is broken.    For the sake of argument, my mom’s house in Groves is valued at $125k. 2/1/1 on a slab.  Her tax bill is $850/year. Without exemptions, her bill would be 3200. It’s right on JCAD’s website. The problem is this…. If someone tries to rent out an identical house, they’d expect to get, what… $1200/month? If you take into account that homeowners/windstorm/flood is a minimum of another $2k per year, you’d need $5k a year just to cover the taxes and insurance. That’s four months (1/3 of the year) just to cover those costs, not counting a potential mortgage payment. But then everybody cries about how expensive rents are… you can’t tax the hell out of non-homestead property to make up for gifts given to homeowners in the form of big tax cuts. It just doesn’t work.    Ten acres in Lumberton? I’ve got a buddy with 10 acres in Lumberton on HWY 69. Prime property… it’s his retirement plan. Sale it one day and cash in. The CAD decided that it no longer qualifies for a special use valuation (timber) and stripped his “exemption.” His 2023 tax bill jumped from $25 to $22,000…. It’s insane.

      They’re going to have win almost all remaining games and get finals of tournament to think about an at-large. When LU was in the WAC, Grand Canyon got an at-large after New Mexico St came out of nowhere to win conference tournament. Grand Canyon had a dang good resume that year. It can happen, but resume wise isn’t in their favor.
