Still have that degree, and if you were cognizant in English, you'd know "HAD" was the proper verb when referring to possession prior to your birth lol.

Now, again, here's the link that indicates 300,000 veterans died waiting on healthcare.

With the above in mind, imagine how many would die waiting on healthcare if all Americans were on Govt healthcare.

What year was I born?

Socialized Medicine, insurance for all Americans. I love the idea!!!!

Free healthcare, free cellphones, free food, free education.    At some point in your life, there is a likelihood that you will grasp the understanding that nothing is free and someone has to pay for all of these freebies.

Our government can't even keep up with FEDEX, how are we going to manage healthcare? Big Girl should have an answer.

If they go Single Payer, I hope Texas legalizes marijuana.  Never used it, but I'll have to then.  I'm at the age were they'll just let me die.

I just saw a quote of former Dem Senator Patrick Moynihan that I think is significant to this thread:

Somehow liberals have been unable to acquire from life what conservatives have been endowed with since birth:  namely a healthy skepticism of the powers of the Government agencies to do good.

Old Patrick may have been a democrat, but he wasn't like the democratic politicians of today.

WOW!!.  A majority of cities—71 percent—will see obamacare premiums rise by double-digits next year!  And they had the nerve to call it "Affordable."  They called it that only for the sheeple they knew that was out there that would believe it!

Surely you jest.   President Obama promised us a $2500 annual premium reduction for the average American family.    Now I fully understand this pales in comparison to Trump lying about his golf handicap but it is still worth knowing.

Link didn’t work, but this is really good news for me.  Maybe now I can get insurance at a group rate that’s actually affordable.

Does this mean that a man can get a policy without paying a pregnancy premium and a woman can avoid prostate cancer premiums?

It is good news...free market approach to insurance.  No better way to lower cost.

I don't know. I feel Big Girl will come on here and outline, or even better, give a coherent and concise (and not to mention irrefutable) point by point detailed analysis of why socialistic medicine is the best path. I will impatiently bang on the F5 key in great anticipation of her impending response. I don't even care that I might have to endure the inevitable multitude of "grab um" posts or posts calling me a racist. I just know that if Big Girl abstains then someone on the Left will stand up and provide this ever insightful and educational juxtaposition response. I might not be able to sleep tonight. (In case it was not clear, I'm practicing up on my sarcasm skills.)

She will point out that subsidies are much better than the free market...for some, anyway.

Repeal it so the poor can start using the emergency room for free again instead of being required to have insurance, no preventitive care for the poor, the middle class can continue paying high insurance premiums anyway, the pharmaceutical companies can continue overpricing their product. The Obama family will continue getting government checks and government insurance. Basically nothing changes.

    • From what I read, the state intended for there to be no drainage. It was to act as a dam or levee just like the hurricane levee around Port Arthur. It worked to perfection.  In doing so, the water had to pile up somewhere.  Like in Causby that I mentioned above, the Supreme Court ruled in that case that the federal government took his land by merely flying planes over it but low enough that the engine noise was disrupting.

    • Exactly. Of course changing realignment to make matchups more fair helps, but fairness always helps, and that shouldn’t be a knock against PNG. But, they created the fixed divisions in what, 2018? How did PnG do in that setup before Joseph showed up? Elite coaching mixed with good players and good luck, and a level playing field, yeah that helps a lot. But for anyone trying to say PNG had it easy, why don’t the other 120-ish teams in 5aD2 do just as well?
    • It’s not a land issue, it’s a demographic issue. The population in PN-GISD is getting younger. Old folks are dying off, and their homes are being bought by young families moving in with increasing frequency. Factor in that PN-GISD is more attractive than some of its neighbors right now thanks to the newer schools, the quality of education and the recent extracurricular success, and you have an easy explanation for the ~20% enrollment growth that’s occurred over the last ten years while the neighboring Jefferson County districts have all either flat-lined or shrunk. You also have an explanation for Groves posting the highest growth rate in the county and the third highest in the MSA on the 2020 census. We’re a lot closer to 5ADI numbers than people realize.
