  1. Don’t have specific scores but know Baytown Lee 9th beat Sterling by at least 10. Baytown JV beat Sterling by 14.
  2. 2 minutes left in 3rd, North Shore 17 King 0. Kings defense playing well, but offensively they can’t throw. So North Shore puts 14 defenders in the box and takes away their ability to move the ball. Kings QB release on throws favors Ken Tuculve, remember that side armed pitcher from ancient times 🤔
  3. Atascocita scores again 42-14 with 6 minutes left in 3rd.
  4. Kings game is not throwing, if they are behind much its going to be tough coming back. Kinda reminds me of Texas city last night at Crosby. I wish i would have seen Atascocita with their injured quarterback, he definitely looks the part of an athlete and leader as he’s constantly coaching up the sophomore.
  5. Six minutes before half, King scored a touchdown to tie Atascocita 14-14 and had momentum. Then two King turnovers and 21 Atascocita points before half turned a close game into a semi blowout. Atascocita starting quarterback #7 is on crutches with a knee brace.
  6. Ive seen King play Summer Creek but haven’t seen Atascocita though their record and opponents speak for itself. I feel that King tries to out athlete you by being simple but maybe it was because Summer Creek was so soft. I was very surprised that creek played Atascocita so close- could Atascocita been looking ahead to King? Im going to this one Saturday expecting a great game. The winner could be setting up a district championship game with Northshore. Hope there is a big crowd. Anyone else going?? Im picking atascocita by 7 just on experience.
  7. QB from Huffman is without a doubt the best athlete on the field and he established it in the second quarter. It’s simple to just say stop the quarterback but easier said than done, he is identical to Dickinson quarterback and used the same way. In the first quarter LCM put pressure and sacked him with late secondary blitzes, but since the Huffman 40 yard touchdown pass, Lcm is committed to 8 in coverage ( like what Arkansas did to A M) but this opens up lanes for quarterback lead or draw. Ends rush upfield and offensive line folds or traps nose to the mike. Ends need to stay home on pass ti help with quarterback leads and pressure with secondary outside blitzes with leverage (had a sack by a secondary blitz on the quarterback last TD run but he attacked inside instead of outside shoulder) Make Huffman beat you with the pass as they only had one big pass. if i am the huffman coaches , i am coming out safe quarterback runs all day. LCM still in the game, just NO confidence now, tail between legs. Still a winnable game, come on bears 🐻, i don’t want to change my name😉
  8. Second 3 and out for Huffman in the first period, LCM defense though undersized run to the ball well
  9. I remember that name, there we’re several playing for King from out of the area living in some apartments there. Nothing that hadn’t happened multiple times in Texas. My senior year at Marlin, 1978, Brownwood barely beat us in the first round before winning state lef by quarterback Scott Lancaster. I played in the THSCA all star game with Scott who told me he lived in Early and Gordon Wood gave him a ride to school every day😁.
  10. I was at that game( Thorne Stadium I think) cause we weren’t in the playoffs that year. Found it humorous that Kings fans were calling out Ernie Starnes for not opening up and passing more. King was a great option team that never passed. LaMarques defense was great at pass defense/ turnovers. The only reason King kept it within range was ball control. Boy Lamarque was something from 85 till 99.
  11. Definitely Kings best side is their defense. I was surprised how much more physical they were than Summer Creek. Maybe its just that Creek is a little soft, or intimidated due to Kings athleticism and size. Years ago when i started coaching at Clear Lake with Coach Stewart we would play Alief Hastings who looked like collegiate players, King is the same. I haven’t seen North Shore or Atascocita yet this year, but i think both are better offensively than King. Kings quarterback, in my opinion, seems to be a weak link ( not a strong passer). King has other offensive athletes but they’re not getting the most out of them.
  12. final score King 35 Summer Creek 10 in a one sided game.
  13. King 21 Summer Creek 3 5 minutes till half. King much more physical, dominating both lines.
  14. Oh my goodness, Saturday night and I was fixing to get back my biography of Churchill and I thought I need to check out setx just to congratulate Coach Carter and them Patriots when I saw the Crosby score, and wow, and knew the trash talking would start🧐, Crosby 14.2 primed as usual, better than the original SNL, yes I am old, keep it up men, love the ingenuity!
