  1. Tiler Paine from HF hit 2 last night against BC.
  2. Wow! A post about a one-sided basketball game runs into this. A 4-A Div. II team playing a 5A team in a non-district game, trying to prepare themselves for a tough district, learning how to compete and adapt to adversity and we turn this into an opportunity to take jabs at a coach you don't like and are jealous that you can't do what he does, is pathetic. After being down several key players due to various reasons such as injury, quitting, left school, and just about any other excuse you can think of, he is still a coach. Not a magician. He can't wave a wand and make everything better. None of those reasons were a result of Coach Jacks either. Don't care what you have heard, keep looking. The real answer is there. Ask some of the girl parents of the Lumberton team now why Jacks left. They will proudly tell you they had a hand in it. The old "Don't care if we are winning, my daughter isn't scoring enough." mentality is strong with some of them. Or, niece for that matter. This generation of "Helicopter" and "Lawnmower" parents is ruining the way high school sports is being played and coached. I know everyone has coached little dribblers, little league, junior league, AAU, select, and whatever else kind and that makes all people sporting experts and gurus, and the guys that actually get paid to do it know nothing. I get it. Some of you are geniuses. Why don't y'all coach then? Let me answer that for you. 1. You don't have a degree, judging by some of your spelling and dictation I am not surprised. 2. You can't afford the pay cut. 3. You only want the job on Game nights, not everything else. 4. You may have to coach your own kid or another that acts like yours. 5. You have paid your kids entire life to have them take lessons from every sport "guru" around because you can't teach them yourself or you don't know how to. 6. Someone may see through all the BS you have been laying on through the years and realize you weren't the stud you claimed to be back in the day. Just my thoughts. I would love to sit down and talk sports with any of you experts if you would like to.
  3. Hit the back button and close yourself out of it. You don't have to read every post or agree with them. The question asked was legitimate.
  4. Why would it matter if he did or didn't play? Is there a little dribbler/select "coach" parent that is more qualified?
  5. Where exactly are you getting your info from? That is one of the most asinine comments I have ever seen on here, and I have seen you put some doozies. Check your information before you throw out incoherent babble. Hear any info from any of the coaches that are leaving as to why they are gone? I bet if you ask them, they will tell you. Don't go by what he said and she said. This is what makes you look foolish and others from Lumberton bad. People associate the rest of the town with you sometimes and it is a shame. There are some coaches leaving, some by choice and some non-renewed. What would cause a mass exodus after a 7 win season in Lumberton? Ask yourself that question. Where does it start? Top or bottom? How many of Babin's former coaches did he bring with him from Warren? Deweyville? Houston? Where are all the Babinites that are following him to the promised land? How can so many jump ship and follow Jehling to the land of Horns? How many have interviewed for jobs here and turned them down? Believe it or not, there is not a line of coaches beating down the door to get into Lumberton. For you to throw out that the coaches that are leaving were "lazy" and did not want to work based on something you "heard" is absurd. Check your info next time. You know so much and like to keep everyone informed, ask around these questions and see if you like the answers.
  6. Lack of respect and sense of entitlement comes from the home. Youth doesn't really have anything to do with, in my opinion. All of the selfish acts of individuals causes tension and forms a division in the dugout which is hard for any team, especially high school kids, to deal with. Parents need to get on board or off and bring their "superstar" boys with them. Again, stay classy L-Town. Stay classy.
  7. Try to teach kids about commitment and accountability and some parents and grandparents can't handle it. Support the coaches decisions whether you agree with it or not. They are just doing what should have been taught at a younger age. Great examples of a few things were shown tonight. What a good coach should do, and what grown adults should not. Stay classy L-Town, stay classy.
