  1. These young men have been a very special group since they were young boys with high expectations They definitely have given not just their community and school a fun ride but all of us basketball junkies have enjoyed it also. Most schools would just like to make the playoffs but these kids are on a different level. Didn’t go their way today. Lots of things you could point at that they could’ve done better today but what they’ve achieved together no one can ever take from them. This group has set the bar high and its been fun to watch. Congrats on one hell of a ride. Keep grindin.
  2. That’s what he just said. He said it’s hard to win 3
  3. I’ve seen the raiders in the past play close games with opponents. This group of young men and the coaches have figured out how to win close games this year. They’ve been in quite a few overtime games this year and seemed to have pulled most if not all out with a W. It’s not always pretty but doesn’t have to be. Sometimes just not accepting to lose can be contagious and these boys play hard and make a play when they need to. Keep grindin.
  4. pretty sure that’s a playoff birth for them Raiders. Congrats to Coach Mitchell and the staff and the boys I’ve seen the grind and the work put in over the years. Nice to see kids buy in and believe. Deserved but well earned also
  5. congratulations to silsbee. I have enjoyed watching them play at a high level for a long time. Devon is a man!!! So happy for him.
  6. The whistle definitely was blown after the clock hit 0.00. But how would the referee know that if you can’t use replay to change the call and the horn didn’t sound? It was definitely a foul but doesn’t matter if he was shooting or not because it was after clock expired. I bet that kid that fouled is beating himself up over that one. He probably will never foul another three point attempt ever again. Lol
  7. In my opinion, there are 5 teams this year that are right in the mix for the 3rd and 4th playoff spots in this district. Nederland and Ozen aren’t as good this year as in the past and yes I understand ozen has injured players. PNG, Vidor, and L-town have the squads this year to beat them and it will probably happen a time or two this season. The difference is that Nederland and Ozen expect to win and execute in crunch time. It’s a culture and a mentality. Lumberton was up last night going into the 4th quarter. They didn’t execute and when they got down by 6 with 4:15 seconds left in the game the body language looked like they expected to lose. But we shall see what happens. As far as Hefner goes, he has all the intangibles. Length, fundamentals, IQ, vision, and athleticism. He will be a force to be reckoned with but the one thing you can do to him right now is bang him around and be physical with him. When he gets that in his game where he can’t be pushed around, watch out. Just my opinion. And I’ve watched him play since he was very young. But this won’t be a cake walk for the bulldogs and panthers this season. Better bring their A game every game this year.
  8. I definitely put him up there on the list. The kid does so much for his team and has put up great numbers this year in most games. And I've seen what he has done against many of the kids on this list this season.
  9. A couple of the seniors decided not to play this year. There are 3 seniors on the team, a few juniors and sophomores and one freshman. Not much basketball IQ but I respect their effort. Hard for me to watch at times
