With the school board looking to change the name again at the stadium, why not transfer the name at the stadium on campus at West Brook to the new stadium?
Can't think of a more deserving man to have his name on that stadium.

Looking at the map, Fort Bend Marshall and Stafford are nearby to Westbury to the SW, Willowridge to the south, Sharpstown to the NW, Bellaire to the north, Madison to the SE and Worthing to the east. That's without getting into the charters and privates that were mentioned, like Strake Jesuit, Episcopal, and Kinkaid.

Idk much about him. I will say, I watched Westbury play Pasadena Memorial last season, and they should have beaten Memorial by at least double digits, but I thought their offense was poorly schemed. They just kept running the ball up the middle when they had a better time getting to the perimeter. So they kept Memorial in the game, and eventually allowed a long run for TD, then a special teams TD, then a long pass, and lost the game.
Westbury isn't totally devoid of talent, but I thought they could have been coached better. Take of that what you will.

I don't understand how people are saying he bailed on Paetow because they're going to 6A when he's... going to another 6A school? I mean, maybe he did bail from Paetow because of how tough the district would be, any number of reasons. But strictly bc they're going to 6A doesn't make sense considering Pearland is also... 6A.

LaPorte is similar to Baytown Lee, whereas, the growth has peaked and there isn't any new housing being developed, to attract families that are looking for a place to live. Enrollment at both schools has continued to drop, watering down the talent pool. Finn(Lee) has done a tremendous job with what he inherited, and has to work with.  By far the best HC in GCCISD. It will take that same kind of mentality to get LaPorte back in the mix. Lee(south baytown) and LaPorte are right across the water from one another, and both are on similar paths moving forward. Blue collar kids need a blue collar coach.

Way tougher to get into the playoffs in that district than when he was at Dobie, but a much much better chance at making a playoff run than when he was at Dobie. Good gamble for him in my opinion

This is so so wrong of the West Orange community. Did we want Toby? I was the first person on this thread to suggest it. Yes, I think that was the majority’s pick but to show up and act a fool and disrespect Coach Hickman in front of his family is ridiculous. We can and should be better.

I don't know why you say that. You really think I just made that up? A fairytell? Seriously?
No one is pointing at your grandparents. What I am doing is contrasting the privileged poor of today that gang bangs and commits the vast majority of crimes then uses "poverty" as an excuse, to the preceding generations that were FAR poorer than the poor of today, but were solid, law abiding citizens. The world has changed. Fathers are mostly absent and the welfare generation is running wild. Over the past year many cities have became war zones. Its not mostly isolated to Chicago, NY, and LA anymore. Sad days for whats left of America.

Both sets of my grandparents came from Louisiana to Beaumont a century ago. My Dads dad was gassed by the Germans in WWI. He barely survived, but his lungs were severely burnt up, and could not do much more that get out of a chair to walk across the room. He had 8 kids and never worked again. Moms dad suffered from heart failure and repetitive hernias. He tried to run a filling station, but never made much money at all. Mom was one of 5 kids. Both my parents were "depression era" kids, and survived by planting gardens, making their own cloths, and eschewing real medical care. The babies were born at home, not in hospitals. I grew up in a tiny home without air conditioning. Dad worked hard, but it took time to build things up because him and Mom had to start from literally nothing.
My grandparents were beyond poor. They nearly starved during the depression. However, they, and my parents, were devout Christians who never, ever even thought about using poverty as an excuse for committing killings, drug abuse and other crimes like the "poor" do today.
I fully reject "poverty" as an excuse for crime. The breakdown of the nuclear family and the associated immorality lifestyles are to blame.
