1. I'm surprised Sterling let it get away from them this bad, honestly.
 2. I think he will do well at SMU. Just needs to put a little weight on.
 3. A bit sloppy a game over all to be honest. Very glad SC decided move to a spread offense.
 4. Page is legit. I'm hoping we can get in his face a bit and slow them down, but with their O-Line I'm not sure how possible that is.
 5. We don't travel too well unfortunately, so parking shouldn't be too much an issue. I have noticed what MBG was saying though, there were some rowdy fans last week on our side.
Which ever number puts Summer Creek into 6A so they will shut up.
you won't shut them up that way... because they will always have the " well we had to move to 6A to get beat during district...." 19-4A is gonna have to beat em down... 1 thing SC is praying for is to get out of 19-4A before they lose this "initial" talent that came running from all other schools to start this one... after this group runs through it will be a middle of the road team at best in 19-4A ... unless of course the "recruiting" continues... Ok let the hate mail begin... but i am just calling it like i see it...
"Initial Talent" and "Recruiting". That's a bit harsh.
But true!!!! I think if summer creek stays in 19-4a they have maybe one more year of winning. And then after that they will be lucky to beat their brother school humble.
What makes you or anyone else believe SC recruits? Can't a young team have a little success? Is that too hard to accept? I mean I know a few of its fans my be annoying but that's no reason to think badly of the team.
Any HS that doesn't have a dedicated feeder system, has to do a little recruiting to "encourage" athletes to attend their HS instead of another HS inside the same ISD....
Could you explain what you mean by a dedicated feeder system? You mean like only one junior high feeding to only one high school?
Dedicated feeder system is when you have one or several Junior High's/Middle Schools in a school district that have clear lines of what high school you have to go to... When you can transfer across an ISD to a HS of your choice it has the potential to create recruiting. In another thread it was brought up and was posted that in the Humble school district you could transfer to any HS ... that leads to recruitment... and I am not talking about buying mom a new house... or dad a new truck... but coaches or current athletes encouraging kids headed for high school to choose one over another because they were recruited/encouraged.... what ever spin you want to put on it... It has been said by a few of the SC posters that the main reason all your skill players you have is because it was a new high school and all the talent flocked to one spot... That happen by chance? or did someone do a little talking to get certain kids to one school ? SC has a Juggernaut of a football team... no one can deny that... but the only way that continues to happen year in and year out is for all talent in Humble ISD to end up at SC each year... and as always this is my opinion... not smearing anyone or accusing.. just the way i see it..
Ok, thanks for clarifying. I think I may have mentioned this in another thread some time ago, but in the thirteen years I was a student in Humble isd school choice was extremely limited. The only time I can think of where convincing student athletes to go to a particular school was possible was the year Humble high received an "Unacceptable" rating by the TEA, allowing students who were zoned there to attend another school in the district (I think it was either 2009 or 2010, but don't quote me on that). I knew a handful of students at SC that transferred from humble because they wanted a more stable learning environment. At the time, if a student was only worried about athletics it would have made more sense to stay at Humble because they were very competitive at sports where SC was struggling and none of the experts expected SC to become competitive any time soon. Atascocita was the same way when they were starting up, and I'm sure they didn't have a mass migration of top athletes in Humble going there because in the 7 years they have been playing varsity football they have only had 2 winning seasons. I guess one could argue they were the hot ticket for baseball, but how would the athletes know that before playing a single game there? We are all entitled to our opinions here, but from my perspective it just doesn't seem to add up. I mean during my sophomore and junior years at SC we were practically invisible in the eyes of the students from the other high schools in Humble. The ones that did acknowledge us thought we were a joke of a school, thinking we were "Dumb" and "Ghetto". Why would student athletes think differently?

I have been hearing from parents at Atas.  the same thing is going on now.  To bad for the team and the kids.  Playing Campbell at QB instead of WR?  Why have your best receive play QB?  Makes you want to think about it.
let me try to understand you... we were talking about PAM's coach having his freshman son on varsity at qb. next thing, stumps son plays wr, not qb and he is a good wr. the qb that was playing was pretty darn good. he can run and throw.
From what I've heard Atascocita doesn't have any qb's ready to play on Friday nights so that's why they moved Campbell to Qb. He has a good enough arm to start and of course he's athletic. As for the Stump kid, I don't know how good he is throwing the ball, but definitely a good wr.

Would have been hard to pass on the opportunity to play the Mike at OU and maybe even for a national championship but I said several months ago that the perfect fit for him IMO would be playing inside in a 3-4 scheme and that's the type defense Tech runs. Tech is in desperate need for recruits like Dakota and he should be in the mix as a freshman barring injury. He tested well enough where he should be able to stay on the field in the nickel coverages they're so fond of in the Big 12. Him and kahlee Woods should hold down the middle for a while. Tech had a good D last year but I think it was more staff than talent. Kingsburry is putting together some good classes though as you can see from the one that Dakota's in. Good luck to him, they got a couple more to put in the pen on the South Plains now.
I think OU was trying to recruit Dakota as an OLB, not sure how much that affected his decision but an OLB in a 4-3 is fairly different than an ILB in a 3-4, especially defending against a spread offense.
Dakota is already close to 230 lbs. I doubt they're recruiting a kid that size already to play on the outside. Most teams are going to run a 3-3-5 vs vs the spread on early downs anyway. There's only one Mike at OU vs 2 ILBs in Tech's D. It would be a lot harder to get on the field at OU also which probably figured into his decision. Whitley and Scott are playing on the inside and they're smaller and faster than Dakota. There's just more spots available at Tech.
[Hidden Content]
