I would have also said Woodville a few weeks back, (well maybe not state, but a very deep run) but they get a very tough Hitchcock team in the 2nd round. I saw online that Hitchcock had to forfeit two district games for playing an ineligable player and that cost them a district championship. Boling ended up winning that district. Boling is solid, Orangefield played them in the College Station tournament and lost by 5.

HJ definitely has a great shot at getting there. Of course they've already beat Silsbee twice and Huntington earlier in the year. Fairfield is solid, but not the caliber of the Lady Hawks. Orangefield played them in the College Station tournament, led the entire game and ended up losing by 4 late. Not sure about Robinson or N. Forest, but just don't see anyone beating them. Good Luck Lady Hawks!!!

Very talented group coming up next year, freshman class now is pretty good too. They might struggle some next year because they'll be very young, losing 6 talented seniors this year will hurt for next year but having two starters returning should lessen the blow. Some of the young kids will have to step up, I'm guessing 3 to 4 sophomores and a couple freshmen could see varsity time next year. With all that said, two years from now Orangefield will have a solid nucleus for the next 2-3 years. Very similar to the senior class that led them to a district title this year, but we'll most likely be back in the 4A ranks.

I'm hearing Orangefield vs Hemphill next Tuesday, site and time TBD.

75-20 final, OF stays perfect in district

He's still very raw, doesn't really have a back to the basket game yet. He does have great feet and very good touch around the basket with a pretty good jump shot. He also might be the best passer on the team. He'll start at high post and does a great job at finding shooters and cutters. Defensively he's a huge presence, he blocks a ton of shots each game but the number of shots he alters is crazy. Good rebounder and has a great knack of starting the fast break. And of course his ability to dunk is huge in momentum swings during games.
