Can anyone tell me why Nederland Band does not attend NAMMB contest anymore?

i have no clue but i can say the BAND OF BANDS THE MIGHTY PIRATE MARCHING BAND won 4A division of the comp :-)

It is odd that Nederland didn't attend this year. I'll be seeing some bulldog friends of mine (Sort of an oxymoron for an Indian, right?) soon and will be sure to ask.

The thing about being an Indian is that you're an Indian, no matter what. It doesn't matter if you play soccer or a tuba, if you're on the football team or the drill team, or if you lead the cheers or the jeers. You still bleed that PN-G purple and white.

thanks alot and the 4 years i have been at vidor nederland has never been so idk why they wpuldnt go. and another thing interestong vidor beata band at this comp that is going to state marching comp. and i still dont understand why they didnt make it to state

What band did Vidor beat that's going to state? It's not any of the 4A bands because none made it to state. Now there were a total of 5 military bands that made it; Carlisle, Tenaha, and Timpson for Class 1A and Union Grove and White Oak for 2A.

Carlisle and Tenaha just made it into the 1A Finals for SMBC and Union Grove and White Oak just missed Finals for 2A by one spot (precisely 1 point. They scored a composite 42 and the last band to make it to finals score a composite 41).

I asked around and found out that the last time Nederland went to NAMMB was 2003.

Thanks for answering my question. When I was in school they always went. It was a little competition between the Band of Bands and Nederland to see who could do the best. Oh well.

the band vidor went against in 4a was rockport fulton high school and if you get on their website it tell you the time they are performing at the state marching competition

See the reason they dont seem to attend the NAMMB anymore is from the NAMMB thing they created in austin in 2001 has been welcoming their presence to attend with the Beast Bands that come from all around and so they tend to head to Austin instead
